Brother has water in oil in his 2110 Ford 4 cyl. I have not looked at yet, am headed that way this am.

Does it have sleeves?

If not where might a engine or short block be avaiable.

TIA Harvey

Harvey,

Don't throw in the towel and discount the possibility of a rusted out or blown head gasket. ....

My old 9N used to get that a lot. Turns out it was moisture from really humid days condensing in through the huge oil breather cap. If it got hot enough for an extended time it would eventually vaporize. ....

Harvey; Before you get concerned about a teardown have you established if it is water or coolant. Let it sit for a few hours to completely cool down, loosen the oil pan drain plug, unscrew it till just a thread or two are holding it in. Water or coolant will allways come out before any oil gets by the threads. Catch what ever comes out before any oil comes in a cup or something so you can get it out in the daylight to determine exactly what it is. If it is only water,it normally isn't a problem, short runs in cold weather generate lots of condensation inside an engine. Unless it is a real bunch of water a couple hours of fully warmed up operation will evaporate it out. If it is coolant, then that's a problem, don't know if they use an oil cooler but they are kind of notorus for leaks, head gasket, etc, you just search till you find it. Best of luck. Frank. ....

It was lots of coolant. Assumed it might be a internal crack, Brother had already checked head gasket. Did not know if engine had sleeves...

It has wet sleeves. The top o-ring on #1 was completely deteriated. The 2nd o-ring was tuff shape. Leak is there.

Pulled #1 and #2 pistons and sleeves just to make sure no crack between cylinders.

#1 piston is scored pretty badly sleeve looks ok enough just to hone. New piston and rings needed.

He has a IT manual it leaves alot to be desired but it is a ok reference.

Located parts at Weavers Compacttractorparts.com. Order Monday have overnighted.

Anybody dealt with Weaver before?

Thanks for the thoughts Harvey ....

What a PITA parts are. Weaver has most. Can not locate new sleeve seal kits. Gasket set almost $300 thru Ford and less then half that other places, but 2-3 weeks out.

Freakin "almost" old tractor anyhow. New parts hard to find because tractor is old and old restored parts not avaiable cause tractor is still to new.

Should have it all by Sat am. Here's another 1/2 day putting back together.

I LUV JUNK! ....

Harvey, was there any cavatation on the sleeve? Even if there wasn't I'd be pulling the other sleeves to check them. They might have pinched it when installing causing the problem. ....

Art the only thing that looked out of the ordinary was all the rust and casting junk that was into the inner O-ring and the inner was badly decomposed and the outer O-ring appeared thin in the same spot.

Bought new sleeve and piston.

Got the gaskets at Clinton a lady there knows you. Had to go to Frankfort for crusher parts and did tractor parts as side trip.

Tractor now running very well no problems. (maybe I should not have said that)

Harvey ....
