I'd hate to think that nobody filled the tractor after attaching the loader and the hoe but it would drain the better part of the reserve. I'd have thought it would have been noticeable long before 30 hours unless you are now on a slope.

My 33D had the black filter and I never had a problem and I lived in Michigan at the time. I did replace it with one from Carquest which is national chain like NAPA stores. I was surprised that the store had a cross reference listing for all the replaceables like air filters. Much to my dismay the prices were not cheaper than the dealer's but Carquest had them the next day. Dealers are few and far between here in 'sippi.

Here in Iowa two row planters are nonexistent and four rows that are any good are hard to come by. The general rule anymore is the flatter the land the wider the planters with 12 and 16 row the most common and a few 24 and a rare 36 row now and then. For example in the hilly dairy part of north east Iowa quite a few 4 and a lot of 6 row planters are used in the smaller odd shaped fields. I 'm just trying to give you a bit of a lead where you most likely would find a smaller planters. I know nothing about planting peanuts, but likely the air planters have a drum for a Case-IH or a seed disc for a Deere or Kinze that is meant to use for peanuts, a dealer could tell you for sure. Is this a steel line? I have seen steel split lengthwise but never rubber, unless it was cut, abraided, or crushed. If it is a steel line I'd consider using a rubber one. From an engineering standpoint, if the steel line was made properly (and quite possible it wasn't if the split ocurred on or next to the seam where it was welded---look inside to see the weld) then the next thing I'd look for is twisting or torquing longitudinally between the components it's attached to. If that is the case, then it will likely happen again, which is another reason I'd go with a rubber one.

Excellent point. I used to run offroad 4x4's and always seem to get them stuck (an excuse to use the 8,000lb. winch of course). I used to use two heavy floormmats folded over the line whether wire rop, tow rope, tow strap or chain. A water-filled milk jug strung through its handle onto the line makes it a no-brainer that you have to use it. For those not familar why to use such devices it's a simple, effective way to force the line to the ground absorbing some energy, and it absorbs and stops the whiplash effect if the line breaks. In and of itself a broken line usually doesn't do damage by breaking and dropping unless you are holding it in your hand or standing over it. It's typically the whipping action that splits a man in half like a cat-o-nine-tails.

I would like to know if the parts are the same.I need the entire set-up and have measured a L48 set.If they are identical I can purchase in stock items from a local tractor supply (their brand)that will work with minimal modification.This would save me about $600.

I see you're in Virginny---I have one for sale that the mfg. sent that wasn't in perfect shape when it arrived. $75 takes it. You'll need to make or buy brackets. I paid somewhere around $575 for the new one. I'm on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi if you're in the 'hood

I'd think twice about the aluminum one for two reasons: the sun's radiation will soak the aluminum and will radiate heat toward your head, and more importantly the sound from the engine will bounce much, much more off that flat plate than the fiberglass, which is considerable but tolerable once you get used to it.

First, it's not sheet metal, and with regards to "simple", if this was a car that you are picking up (and they cost as much as a small car) would you accept a finish like that?

For the most part not to say I've had my hands on a 192 but the starting procedure when it is cold, two pulls with the choke on and it should have fired. The third pull will have it running on fast throttle with the choke off. When it is still warm just shut down for refuel or to move your cutting it should start with just turning the switch on. Both Husquvarna and Stihl are the same for starting. This is not repriming the fuel system from running out as that is a different story.

The front tires are so little it's probably irrelevant except it makes them more difficult to repair- I wouldn't load them unless I had a rear item to lift that the tractor was marginal on.

Yes he died by drowing. This event happened few years ago. Fifteen years ago when I went into my pond, and five others in this area also did, there must be lots more when if you include all very this country. By-the-way, I was moving dirt from a pile, drove up on the pile to pull dirt down before I loaded it. I couldn'g go all the way over; so when my China made box blade stuck because the rear was low, I attempted to back up any way and problems took place. First the metal parts of the box blade that connect to the 3 pt hitch bent and not only that, each rear wheel, only week old (less than 10 hrs) got pocked by the spicks. Almost caused both to go flat and scared both rear tires. Anyone else have similar results. I got the box blade with the tractor/loader.

I was told years ago for the best protection you need two dogs at least. One inside and one outside. The inside one warns you...not sure who the outside one is warning.

I don't know if plastic fuel tanks are more prone to guage problems or not but I had several Case farm tractors with plastic tanks and the guages rarely worked, usually it was a grounding problem with the sender. The guage on my 4310 has always worked but it's kind of a somewhere in the neighborhood indication of the fuel level. Frank.

I try not to speak out of line. From time to time dealers stay in touch with each other and offer discounts to the other dealers. We had good arrangements with the local IH truck dealer (navistar) even after the IH break-up.

Ok..... I looked it up. The 4100 had indirect injection, glow plugs and quieter ignition.

The 4115 has direct injection, no plugs and noisier operation.

Maybe I am the only other guy on the board that understands the sand issue.

Much of my lot is windblown, loose sand. My first tractor came with R-1's..... talk about useless. Actually it was worse than useless, the tires were counter-productive.

Everywhere I drove it looked like a rototiller had passed through. I had it in 4wd 100 percent of the time with the track-lock engaged and it would still get stuck.

I went through the R-4 phase too (oh my aching back!) and found them better on sand than the R-1's but terrible in mud.... it does rain in the desert too.... and useless on snow without chains. Did I mention the ride quality? OUCH.

My solution was a light truck M&S Radial with 8-10 pounds of pressure in them. I am not sure that will work for you, but it is worth checking.

Measure the height of your present rear tires are and see if there is an off-road tire made with the same diameter.

The fronts will be much easier to match.

If you can't make that work, get the factory turfs or a reasonable facsimile and don't look back.
