Maybe its an EPA thing? Or the tire manufactures? If you have a bad bead and a slow leak. The siren would certainly make you think twice about buying a new tire.

I use my JD 4310 to clean up after the dozer. Like you say, the dozer will leave a tangled mess! But a chain saw and a tractor will clean it up in no time. I'm always popping out small trees that seem to be in the way after the dozer is gone. In fact, one of the reasons I got a tractor was...one man and a shovel ain't going to do a lot after the heavy equipment is gone. I think of it like this...$18,000 risking my equipment...or he can do it no problem in a day for about $800.

Ok, time for more data now that I made it back to Iowa for the weekend. The trailer will haul my tractor and if we don't find a house soon, maybe on more than one trip.

As for the skidsteer issue, the trailer would haul the skidsteer from where ever my brother buys it to his house. From his house it's 3 miles to the lot where he's going to build a house. So after the initial skid steer haul, the trailer will be making 3 miles there and 3 miles back. Again and again and again. Short trips never getting above 45 mph.

I'm set up for 10k lbs with my class IV hitch. Going to a gooseneck puts me into a lot more money than I want to spend as I'd have to equip the truck too.

When I bought my BX2200 in 03 I paid $12,000 plus tax , for the tractor, la211, and 54" mowing deck , so your seems like a good deal 3 years later .

Seriously though, e-Bay has an extensive selection. And there are clubs who specialize in these collectibles. A friend showed me a catalog from one mfg. that must have been a 1/2" thick just for cars. Bobcat has radio controlled versions that really operate. And they're only about $50 used or $90 new.

What does that mean? It means the front wheels.....in 4wd..... are turning 1.5 times every time the rear wheels turn once. Or you could say that the rear wheels only turn 66 percent of one turn for every complete revolution of a front tire.<br>

Your R-4 rear tires are probably about 103 inches around. So 103 x .66 = 68 inches around for a front tire. This is the "zero lead" diameter or minimum size.<br>

Your tractor is supposed to have a 0 to 5 percent lead on the front axle, meaning it should turn slightly faster than the rear axle.<br>
<br>
68 inches x 1.05 = 71.4 inches. So if your rears tape out at 103 inches, any front tire that tapes from 66 to 71 inches would work OK.<br>

Aside from the safety issues, and dealing only with the mechanical question;

I doubt that when this is happening the engine temperature is very high. Shutting down a hot motor is a lot harder on the engine than is shutting down a colder engine.

If all you are doing is running around, I don't see it as a big problem. The first component likely to suffer from this is the starter.

Gee, I learned something again today in this great forum. I too have a "pump-up" for a small basement bathroom like ncrunch, and probably many others. That small basement bathroom is "roughed in" right now with the plan to build it later. It's good to know now not to put in caustic fluids.....I guess learning from ncrunch's previous problem.

Thanks, buddy, for the info. I have a 5000 watt, 10 hp generator now and will just keep it rather than go with the PTO type. There wouldn't be enough wattage differance between the two anyway. Thanks again.

I traded a f-350 4x4 with a fisher 8ft speedcast for a jd 790 4x4 with a 60 inch front mounted erskine blower and will never go back on my 700ft driveway the main reason was several back to back snow storms with some melting in between.,which caused the piles to turn into ice blocks.AND IS ON A SLIGHT GRADE with a small area to stop in,SNOW PLOWS NEED ALOT OF SPEED TO CURL TO SNOW OUT OF THE WAY . I have limited space to push it to. NOW I place it 30 +++ ft any way /out of the way/.Yeah,it may take a little longer but its done once.<br>
Erskine makes front mount blowers up to 9 ft wide,just a matter how large of a tractor you have. Front mount is the ONLY WAY TO GO BUT IS ALSO MORE $$$$$$.<br>

My land is hard clay, and a TSC would not stand up to the stress placed on it. It would work for a while but the sections would either bend or break the bolts. If you go to a metal pipe or place where you can buy 1/4 in angle you can usually pick up what they call cut-offs at a big discount and make a very strong one as mentioned in the above discussions. mine cost me less than 40.00 and is heavy enough to do any type of dragging, i even use it to drag my gravel road to loosen it up before gradeing it.

I got soured on using fluid in farm tractor tires a long time ago. Washer fluid may not be corrosive and all but still a big mess when you have a flat. I've got a home made weight bracket for the three point that uses conventional front end weights but is well above the drawbar and PTO so it dosen't interfere. In the winter I leave the box blade on not only for weight but sometimes it just works better to push some snow with it in reverse. Have a big day. Frank.

I have a great condition garage kept 100% of the time 2001 Kubota B7500 tractor 140 hours, 272 FEL, 60" Landpride FM, and 4' Box Blade. I recently purchased a Dixie Chopper mower and and Bobcat skid steer and do not have the need for my tractor that I once had. I am wondering what would be a good asking price. Any advice would be appreciated.

try using a small sump in a 5 gallon bucket. If you take off the wand you can let the rv anti freeze recirculate back into the bucket. Then you can reuse the anti-freeze for other projects such as the dreaded pool filter.

I didn't buy the Deere Synthetic from the local tractor dealer.

Instead I went to the big Yellow Deere construction machine dealer. When I made the comment that the Ag dealer charged a lot more for the oil than they did, the guy at the counter said, "That's because they buy it from us".

He was also able to order all the correct filters for my engine and HST and sold me some HyGard considerably cheaper than the Ag dealer.
