AV8R - You are correct it is the 1.9L that is delayed in the Jetta, Rabbit (nee Golf) and new Beetle. The Passat has flirted with the diesel in the US but never really been consistant in the model years.
I did not drive the Touareg or the Phaeton they are a little more than I want to spend on a vehicle.

I just got an L5030HST (traded my 3130) with the 853FEL and QA. I didn't specify so I got the 72" square bucket. I had a round bucket on the 3130. Before I start digging, does anyone have opinions on round vs. square for FEL buckets? I might be able to trade before I 'use' it.<br>

Boomer, I think, as with most CUT's, if you set the parking brake first the engine will not shut off when you get out of the seat.

I'm sure there would be a mention of the procedure in your owner's manual.

I bought a Howse from Northern Tool several years ago. It works well, I did add farmers weight (several large rocks) and use it to work up the driveway.

Have you tried eBay for a manual? You might get lucky.

FYI: Service manuals are very expensive to write. I was a writer and illustrator for GM, Nissan, Toyota, etc. automotive manuals for convertible top modifications, and also worked up price quotes. A typical service manual supplement just for convertible portion was upward of $450,000. Yearly updates could be $70-150,000 depending on the car and the changes. Makes that $250 looks like petrol money now huh? LOL

I understand the inductive load in reverse analogy, thanks Murf. I too have a 100A service. I guess I have always assumed that's 100 Amps at 110V on each of the 2 hot legs (so that would be the power equivalent of 100A on 220), is that correct? The genset is listed as 12kW however it has a number of recepticles that can be used such that the largest load that can be pulled from any one recepticle is 50A on a 4 blade plug (they call it a welder plug), then there would be opportunity to pull some additional power from some smaller 110 and a single 30A 220V outlet on the generator. Supplying a house though, I could only use one outlet. From my calcs it looks WAY sufficient.

I agree that its a matter of practice but I don't get to practice enough on my JD LT190 lawn tractor. I find the Gravely garden tractor mower deck much easier (even though much heavier) because what you have to do is obvious. You drive over the deck, insert the lift pin and lift the mower deck until front of deck hooks into place, then hook the universal to the PTO. Done! The process for the JD is supposedly simple - but after the Gravely - seems awfully convoluted.

Yes I have been extremely happy with it. The operator needs to pay close attention to whats happening behind him/her though. A need to be able to keep a consitant speed in turns and or correct for it, is a plus!
This last weekend I was trying to save a 3/4 acre winter wheat plot. I had good germination but I did not cover the seed as good as I should of so I had even germination but no where near as thick as it should of been. I over seeded with a winter rye. did not have time to cultipack (nor could I since it was a bit to wet for that) but I think if we get a decent rain soon the rain will set a good percent of the seed for germination since it is most a new seed bed. Point being,,, my wheeler I had the spreader hooked up to had a dead battery. I charged the wheeler and still it would NOT take. I had 2 options. Take it off and fabricate it to work on my new wheeler OR use the hand spreader. The hand spreader works fine just a heck of alot of walking. I decided to give my dog a break and see if she would work with me? I let her run along the side of the wheeler (which she just loves) When we got out there zi figured I would need to watch the dog so close (she is 5 months old now) that I would have to take her back home. NOPE, She walked step for step with me for the whole hour it took me to hand seed this plot. Cool eh? I called it father puppy bonding time!

Greg is for the most part right. But you want to use the positive side of the battery. and the turn you meter to amps. and hook it up in series with the post and the cable. The start pulling fuses to you read zero amps.

Interesting enough about the injection pumps there are some that you could get an extra 50 to 100 horsepower with little more then a screw driver a few years back. There are other makes you'd be luck to get 10 horse out of no matter what you did without sending it to a shop! Some we actually were able to get close to three times the original horsepower out of as long as you added larger fuel lines and injectors as well as turbo. Today most of them are made so there are basically NO adjustments at the dealer level to keep them in compliance with EPA standards.

I always wonder about those drivers who pull right in front of a loaded trailer and often to stop. All drivers ought to be required to drive on empty highway a load about like yours to learn respect not for the person pulling it but the lack of ability he had to control it.

Your problem is possibly an internal one that isn't the pump. You said the tractor is like surging which is the pump being signaled that it needs more oil pumped because you have an open circuit. That is where your oil is going instead of the loader as that is the priority over the loader circuit. I'm hoping your three point hitch valve is open.

It is hard to keep the couplers which are on top of the valve from leaking if dirt is allowed to build up of any kind. If an o-ring gets pinched that to could cause a leak. Some times the fittings going into the valve themselves will leak after a bit and need to be retightened.
