Art, thanks excellent insight. I should have taken a better look. Again, going from foggy memory.. I'd say they were at least 75% of the width, but the thickness was maybe 50%. My gut tells me to wait. It's a 40" and I'd really like 50" to cover my tracks. I'd want to open the gear box and chain box and inspect.

On the seat belt in the skid loader. If you put your hand under the lower retractor you will find the release button toward the front of the device just push it when you are trying to pull it out and it disengages the lock.

Do the manufacturers take efficiency into account when they rate the pumps? If you had a pump rated for 3000 psi at 3600 rpm could it really deliver 3000 psi if it were provided a steady 3600 rpm input?

This whole thing has really sent our radar spinning. I have done more price comparisons since the air filter fiasco, and the results are amazing. It turns out my dealers prices are 30% higher than we can get parts for at dealers that we haven't bought equipment from. Of course, them there's the idiot that tries to sell it for 250% over list.

My father worked for GM Service parts for years, purchasing and pricing service parts to be sold to the dealers. I wish he was still here to ask him what the proces was.

I would think you can get the ring some place unless they made their own mold. They claim the one for the new one is a standard O'ring.
The other option wound be to machine the O'ring. Got any dry ice?

Also was it a new water pump or a remanufactured one? If the clearances are in correct the pump often does not pump much.

Well, I drained the oil this morning and it is a broken piece. It's the piece that supports the inner bearing inside the case. It broke from the case. The bearing housing is intact, it just broke from the housing... These transmission housings look to be cast iron. It will have to be brazed as these is no way to get inside without taking everything out of the housing to get in with an Arc or MIG welder...

If your lucky, they are located in the same place as on my bx23. Lift the seat and look at where the wire loom splits into a 'T' and runs toward the turn signal lights. Mine come right out of the bottom. The ground is a male connector and the female is the positive. Check them with a voltmeter before connecting.

Help I bought a little used tractor from the dealer. They told me they had put on a new injector pump and changed all the filters. I talked to the mech. and one said the other one had timed it wrong. I bought it as is and now both the salesman and the mech. are gone. The tractors puts out a lot of black smoke. After it runs for awile if you shut it off It will not start till it sets a for about 20 min. It is not getting hot all that has been checked. I have a manual and when I read how to time it is says to turn the engine ccw facing the flywheel. <br>
(You have to have the injector tubes off so you can see the fuel in the top of the injector pump.) It says as you turn the motor the fuel will rise up the discharge fitting. When it runs over that is the F/1 or timing position. You shim the pump up or down to get that right. When I turn the motor over by hand it takes more than one revolution to get fuel to spill over. My thinking would be that if the top fitting was 1/2 full or 1/4 full when you turned the motor over it would throw the timing off. It dosen't seem to be a very good way to time the injector. Any help please.

Normal charging should be around 14 volts at the higher speed. To have grounding problems on a boat is not unusual!

It's hard to say where the added horsepower might become determental to fuel economy but I've found it hard to replace cubic inches and horsepower for overall performance.

I'd say it sounds like oil viscosity breaking down. This happens with large tolerances and high RPM in car engines but in diesels It is from large tolerances. You might try some higher viscosity oils. The main and rod bearings and possibly the cam bearings might be the problem but there are still other things to try. I'd hook a mechanical gauge into the system to verify as gauges do go bad but they are normally unchanged in reading. You might have a weak pressure spring but I'd doubt that being the problem as it woould be weak all the time much the same as the gauge. What is nothing for pressure?

Geez . . . Sounds like the same logging crew that stripped my neighbors land here in VT. The house (big log cabin) sits on a cliff overlooking our lake. Last fall the loggers came in knocked a path up the side of the property, much like you described virtually straight up the hill.

Then they went nuts! They dropped anything and everything, for about 100 acres, leaving behind an absolute mess. Once everything was felled, then they picked and chose what they wanted, leaving everything else behind. It looks worse thru this property than the pics we've seen from the Gulf last year! Terrible just plain terrible.

Then during the winter, as the log run was continuously eroding, the water and swill came down over the road, to the point the town stepped in and mandated a catch basin of sorts. Then the stock pile of logs rolled off the stack plateau and these idiots had logs out in the road, and the drainage gulley along the road, etc.. Nasty sound when the town snow plow came thru about midnight plowing snow!

What's equally as bad, if not worse, is that the lower lot housed the leaching system for the cabin. They dropped huge spruce trees and pushed others over, exposing, you guessed it, raw run off........with out repair!

Now it runs off in to a gulley along side the road, and into the lake. Despite all of our complaints and phone calls to officials, we cannot seem to get any resolution and repair. We contacted the state, and they told us that we should call when we smell something (?)----What on earth do they think we're calling for?!

Anyway - point being, sounds like the same crew, if not from the same family! Sorry to hear about the mess, but most definitely can appreciate being gunshy for other contractors.

We have the balls,you also need to make sure the snap ring is still on there,most of the time the snap ring breaks which allows the balls to fall out.Call us at 979-865-4002 for the parts
