Was there water or junk in the filter bowl? My blue has had a few tanks of water-logged fuel---it will sound like it's running on 2 of 3 cylinders, then lose power, and finally quit.

My 12,500 GVW dump trailer has always had 3/4" plywood on the sides, doors and floor. It takes a beating hauling broken concrete. If you put a little sand on the bottom of the traler it help the concrete slide out.

Since your trailer is small you might want to put 3/4" plywood down with 1/4" fender washers at the bolt-down points between the plywood and the steel. These will space it off the steel and let them breathe. Otherwise the paint will blister, fake off and rust in no time just due to temperature changes (condensation) not to mention everyday use or the ocassional washing out. Make the front and sides tight as possible to seal out dirt and water.

A cheap alternative to UHMW (for this application) which is very, very expensive is a child's snow toboggan/sled---the kind that a basically a slippery roll of plastic that rolls up on its own. It'll make cleaning up and dumping so much easier and quicker.

Eric, what is wrong with making sure only the educated are entrusted with political decision making power? Electricians and plumbers are required to demonstrate a level of competency before they can do their jobs, but you can be a total numbscull and still have a right to select the leadership of a nuclear superpower. Makes no sense to me.

I have a 2003 CC 2518. I have had no major problems with it. I added the Ag (lug) tires this spring and traction is great. I find this tractor to be very heavy duty and reliable. The 44 inch deck does a great job and I can't be more pleased. I have 6 acres and it is hilly and bumpy in places.

Sounds like you may have air/water/contamination in your fuel which has made its way to the injector pump. Have you tried cracking the fuel line connectors at the fuel injectors and cranking the engine until you have a good fuel spray at the injectors? This should reprime the lines and injectors as well as purge any water/contamination or air. Now might be a good time to drain some fuel from the bottom of the fuel tank and check the fuel filter as well.

YOu might want to check your air pressure on you rfront tires as well as rear for balance of the driveline. When off the four wheel drive doesn't engage or disengage well.

Also make sure they are not too damaged. All these points are ways to get him to come down in price.
You can still get a new KK tiller for anywhere from $1100 to $1600 depending on size. If you have to buy a slip clutch, tines hardware for the tines!!!!!!! etc it all adds up fast. (look at the KK web site and look at the PARTS for a KK tiller! The price on the hardware is phenominal!!!!!!(like $280!!!)

Mark, I just now read that and I had a good laugh. I was the same way only it was Good Morning, Good afternoon (whatever) followed by a sufficient pause. Heaven help those that didn't answer.

Ah... land and a tractor... Life just doesn't get any better. Once you have the tractor, you'll come up with all sorts of uses for it. I throw bags of mulch in my loader bucket for hauling to what ever trees I need to work on. They do quite a bit of stuff. Have fun, be safe.

Last piece of advice: If your gut says don't so it, then don't. Safest way to operate a tractor. I've almost flipped one before and it didn't have a ROPS. Think and you'll be fine.

Here I thought is was some clever Swedish design of ultra-modern tractor that was kind of lumpy to sit on but folded out into a sort of bed if you had overnight guests that you didn't want to be *too* comfortable.

Bet they'd be popular with college kids though, they might not miss the old farm so much.....

Ann, they are a neat unit. I've had a 430 that came with the first 4300 tractor I bought. I've since added a 4 in 1 bucket for it, and so far no problems. I don't like to use it more than a big half day without greasing it especialy the lower bucket pivots just to keep the dirt pushed out of them. Just as the biggest bulldozer has it's limits so does your new loader, give it good care and it will last you a long time. Enjoy you new machine. Frank.

Jim' I'm a bit far away to know about auctions in your aeria but here in Iowa the major consignment auctions are held about this time of the year just prior to harvest and again in late winter ahead of planting season. The phone book is probably your best source of auction firms and I'm sure most of them are on the internet also. You have a good piece of equipment and it should bring top dollar.Best of luck. Just a clarification on cylinder capacities. The "push" capacity of a cylinder is based on the area of the 'bore', not necessarily the rod size. The "pull" on a double acting cylinder is the area of the 'bore area minus the rod area'. For force is either direction, it's the area described above times the system pressure.

To really get a feel of how much push you need to get the box started into the dump position, you need to multiply the gross weight of the box and contents by the difference in the dump moment arm and the center of gravity of the load. In other words, if the center of gravity of the box is 4 feet from the hinge pin, and the lift cylinder pivot pin is 1 foot from the hinge pin, you need 4 times the lifted weight to move the box. In addtion, and maybe more important is the angle and orientation of the cylinder under the box. If the cylinder is on a 30 degree angle, and the cylinder pin is at the same level as the pivot pin, the vertical lift component of the cylinder is only 40% of the cylinder "push capacity".

These are rough examples, but you can see that to lift 4000lbs from the examples above, you would need (4000 x 4)/.4, = 40,000 lbs. The orientation of the upper cylinder pin to the box pivot pin can change these numbers, but these are the things to look at to determine the size cylinder you need.

We use 4" cylinders at 1500psi for our 2 ton dumps.

I thought it was a speed sensor due to the need for it for the ABS and the speedo. Turns out it was the rear axle speed sensor. I didn't get time to hit an auto parts store for a diagnosis due to job interview call-backs (good for me). So I dropped it off this morning and they found which one it was and replaced it. Everything works now.
