Why is the rsnge on the L3830HST dipstick so small? My hydrostatic lawn tractor dipstick has a wider range. When I check it the tractor has to be setting on a perfectly level spot in order to have a true measurement. If it is setting on any type of slope it may indicate that I need to add fluid where in realty on a level spot it is full.

Been putting this off for awhile and now I have a need for it beyond (just to make my life easier LOL) the old excuse.<br>
I see there is one that is made in my state (Wisconsin), maybe I will check em out and make sure it is really MADE here and not just packaged (with made in hina in 1/16" stamped letters under a weld)

Amdro is a bait. They claim results should happen in a week, but it's been 10 days on one mound with no reduction in activity yet. I think this is the mound that is the source of ants that are coming into the house so it's extra frustrating.

Go to previous post by Murf and see what he uses on job sites. I think they are the containers used for over seas shipping but I am not sure. Some of those containers or rentable. They are also buyable.

Tomorrow is a very special date; the USA will be only 230 years old. Compared to many countries the USA, Canada and Australia are babies.<br>

Yet there is much owed to those who founded each and those over the years who gave all for their country. Sometimes never understanding nor agreeing with the reason but they were faithful. Not only did they improved the lives of their fellow countryman but the lives of most of the world. Some of these heroes used guns or bombs, some treated the injured, some stood in halls of justice and law and some stood in the pulpits. <br>

To those here who served and still do thank you, to those who suffered an injury, and to those who lost a family member thank you more than words can say. Without those sacrifices my children and grand would not have the freedom today that is often forgotten or taken for granted. <br>

I agree with the story telling around the fire. But gee whiz, do you realize how hard it would be to get the likes of the cat hunters and tractor rollers and traffic cop story tellers around a fire at one time? Impossible to round us such talent. It surely would be on TV. Guess it could be called CUT Comedy Tellers or such.

There has been duals for many different tractors as well as styles to mount them. The best mount is an axle mount with an extended hub from the axle but not available for this application. The next is with the use of spacers from the original hub but they prove to be the weak link. There are also what's called snap-on duals and they might be available but by the time you are set up with rims tires and the hardware might have about a grand more in the tractor. Many of the older compacts with tuals were two wheel drives and they were used for floatation as well as ballast to assure the rear would stay down. You might first check to see if the wheels you have now might not be able to be moved out.

Engine running at normal temp--never has shown tendancy to overheat, even when working hard. Does not have oil cooler, but that may be a good idea for a solution for oil thinning due to heat (thanks). I had thought about going to 50W oil. The thing that puzzles me is that the engine doesn't indicate excessive wear--it burns clean and runs good, whereas my old 8N has a zillion hours on the original engine and has low compression, but the oil pressure stays up around 50 psi at anything over idle--I know--two different "animals".

I went to the Bush hog dealer to look at the 84t squealer today but of course they were closed. A hydraulic adjustment would be nice.

Peters- Nice pictures. Your house is beautiful and interesting. Are those formers in pics 9-11? Off Topic, the reason I bought the tractor was because of the land we purchased. I'll be building a new house there. I hope to make an energy efficient house..Solar, Geothermic etc. Looks like you were building that one yourself. Any interesting details?

We have window seats in other rooms but there are pop-outs that give more room for seating. I don't really want to rebuild the outside wall so seats there would require some floor space. Hmm. Have to think about that.
