Why is the rsnge on the L3830HST dipstick so small? My hydrostatic lawn tractor dipstick has a wider range. When I check it the tractor has to be setting on a perfectly level spot in order to have a true measurement. If it is setting on any type of slope it may indicate that I need to add fluid where in realty on a level spot it is full.

Or the tractor might be tilted the other way and you may feel the need to drain? You also should always check the oil at the same temperature to get a consistant reading. ....
