Good find! That is a new battery line they did not have when I purchased my replacement battery. According to the Deere battery line chart, this battery is an exact fit. The question in my mind is whether is is a sealed battery? The Deere info. states it is a "maintenance free" battery. Surely it must be a BIG improvement over the previous Strong Box battery. I will do some research on this and see what I can find out. If this is indeed a sealed battery; then this should definitely fix the out gassing corrosion problem. Thanks for posting that info.!

Yes, there was a time when having additional heat resistance was probably good for air cooled engines. With liquid cooling in most everything now (sorry Harley) they operate in the same temperature range as auto engines.

I used Honda oil in my new bike the first couple of changes. Then I switched to Mobil 1. Everything seems to work more smoothly with the synthetic.

I planted bermuda grass seed on my pasture almost a week ago now and we were supposed to have a few days of rain in the week. We have had none and it looks now like we won't for at least another week. It is on ten acres and we don't have water out there yet. Do I need to get someone to come out with a water truck or something to water it down? Will the hot sun kill my seed if it doesn't get any water?

The vinegar and water does work. In KY I put in raised beds of straw berries at the corner of the lawn. All you had to do is go near them and you were covered with hungry red bugs or chiggers. After jumping in the shower every two minutes someone finally told us about vinegar and water. We kept a small bowl and cloth around the back door bathroom to wipe yourself down before entering. I had to make a trip one day and walked in by the strawberries before I jumped in the truck. After driving for a couple of hours I had to stop and buy some vinegar to relieve the biting.
As Randy said blue berries are bad for chiggers too. We went picking in MS at a friends abandoned farm one day. After we were finished we had to go and buy some vingar to relieve the itch.

Based on what I see out there, looks like you're getting a good deal on this tractor, I'd get it if I were you and then buy a designated lawnmower ($1200 - $1500), if you find the Case to be too heavy. Even if it doesn't tear up the grass right away, you don't want to compact the soil too much with a heavy tractor

See if you can make a makeshift plastic tent over the pile instead of just covering the pile. I always keep my wood under a roof.

Ken, they joke about us growing stones in our area with the frost heaves every year. With crop rotations the larger rock rakes and systems for removal we have found that they can pick and go about seven to eight years before they need to revisit the field with the rock equipment again and many farmers are able to just reverse the knives when dull. Rather then pick stone we also have some that have just resorted back to normal mower conditioners and changing cutter bars to try to keep up.

KT, that's the whole point. They claim it is working I claim it is not.

Earthwrks, frankly I don't care about the cost of litigation. If it costs me money to fix I'd rather give the money to a lawyer than to them. It's not just a loop problem. The unit is undersized and the installation is all screwed up. To top it off I paid extra for a 10 year "no hassle" parts and labor warranty and the dealer dropped the product line and won't service it. I want them to eat it.

Peters, yes, we have a couple of Steiner 4x4s for the really steep stuff, they are pretty well balanced and don't have the mower as far out in front as the FEL on a payloader is, thus the effect is greatly reduced, but it is still there.

All the commercial mowers, be they articulated, 3 or 4 wheelers with rear wheel steering are pretty easy to trim with, and to negotiate around obstacles.

The 3 wheelers with manual steering though can be hard on fences and walls, they allow you basically snap the steered wheel into a nearly 90� turn in a split second. In the hands of a rookie this often means the rear wheel, and often the rider too, sideswipe the fence or other obstacle.

I haven't had any play time on the Carraro's but I'm told they can be a real handfull at any kind of speed, they seem to move faster than the brain is able to comprehend sometimes. LOL.

That's interesting, I'll check them out. Well, the pump is out and I shipped it to Draper to rebuild. They could not locate one off the shelf, and requested I send mine in. I'm still in a hope and pray mode that this will fix it.

I live in North Central CT and purchased my BX22 three years ago this August. I paid 17,200 which included a 60" mmm. I looked around at the time and all the prices went from what I paid to full list. The only reason I went with the dealer I did was because of the limited availability of the machines at the time and did not want to wait. I would not go back to the same dealer again because of the service and would gladly pay as much as 500.0 dollars more just for good service. Be careful, you can go broke saving money.

I've found a product I buy from Dollar General store or WalMart called Greased Lightning works great---just spray it on, let it sit for a minute and hose it off. You may need to wipe it while it's wet for nasty areas.

Whatever you do...don't take that pump off or apart! Hopefully, it's just the throttle shaft that's sized. Try shooting some penetrating oil on it where the shaft goes into the pump.

I had a neighbour who *thought* he had the same problem with his new BX.

I chuckled when he called me up right after it was delivered to ask me if any of my machines came that way!!

He even brought it over to my place to show me. We put it in my shop, rolled the door down, put a level on the door's crossbars to prove them level, stepped back and sighted down the tractor to see, just as he had done in his shop. Sure enough one side lined up to different point on the door than the other did!!

It was then I told him it was an easy fix. He had already tried everything, air pressure, etc., to no avail.

I opened the door, backed it out, turned around, backed it back in and shut the door. VOILA!!

Now the other side was lower!!

No shop floor or garage floor is level, but the door is!!! DOHHHH!!! Drainage, who'da thought!!

ROFLMAO!!!

Yah, I've seen stuff like this occasionally before. Denis does an awesome job, but no one can keep up with the losers that have nothing else to do but wreck stuff for everyone else.

There appears to be opportunities for my wife in Kalamazoo. So we are pursuing those at this time. We haven't decided yet, but know we'll have to make a formal declaration soon.

As for me, I've been a parts guy for the last 19 months. Loved it. I'd love to work on CUT's or larger stuff. I may see if I can back on with Vermeer. I could do that drive daily. Would be long, but doable.
