Funny how we form opinions. Surprised me on the Kubota in ND. Thought you would have been discussing Agco or Cat or such in that part of this great country.

Based upon my own experience I like my Orange pumpkins and have had right good service even with an unusual trans problem recently that cost some serious pocket money (past warranty). This experience helps me say what I have before, be sure you and the dealership are comfortable with each other. A couple of hundred dollars lower price up front may cost you a lot over the years. As a local dealer told me, he will be back, he bought a tractor!

I thought I posted this yesterday but don't see it so I'll post again.<br>

I've owned this 4210 for three years and never needed to use the PTO until yesterday when I connected the recently acquired Taylor Ways Backhoe. The PTO controlled with a pull/push knob located on the right side besides the 3 pt slide control.<br>
At any rate the PTO does not engaged. I've checked for loose or disconnected wiring underneath the floor board but didn't see any. <br>
I've checked for loose or disconnected wiring underneath the floor board but didn't see any. When I pull the PTO knob t engage the PTO, the dash light comes on and when I lift myself off the seat, the engine cuts off so that tells me that the wiring is good. <br>
I was told that the solenoid maybe bad so how do I test that? How do you remove the solenoid...unscrew it or it it a plug in type that's "lifted off" the 2"x5"x1-1/4" rectangular housing?<br>

I have the above tractor. the machine was made by Yanmar for John Deere. It is equipped with a three cylinder Yanmar diesel engine.<br>
My question is where does one get parts for the engine.<br>

My local JD distributor says the engine is obsolete and suggested I try Yanmar web sites.<br>

Actually many other countries have as much or more natural resources. The problem is their corrupt governments. Which I fear is where we are headed, especially with this outrageous amnesty plan. But at this point in time, yes we have a great country. I tell my kids often, kings of just a few hundred years ago did not live like the vast majority of us live in this country. I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but Honda makes several lines of engines, some of which are the the great ones with which they built their reputation. He may have one of the poorer ones. Anyone can make bad ones, Honda has a great rep but in these small engines they are suspect according to model.

It's important to never say never! We just had a BX that was just delivered within a week come back with the flasher lights flashing! We have over 300 BX's out at this point and this is the first one. It is a left over that was out during the winter so I'm going to be checking on that module described in one of the prior posts.

I got my 4 way flashers working OK but the head lights still come on whenever the ignition switch is in the on or run position no matter if the headlight switch is on or off.

Scams. Don't bid if you or a friend can't inspect the tractor in person.

figured it out took off tranny top took out 3 point lift valve it had the classic sticking relief valve, works killer now all ok took about 2 hrs to do thank god i didnt have to buy parts

One thing that I came across awhile back, when I, er, ah, bent the toplink, (bad), I went to straighten it, and then removed it from the buckle.

It did straighten out enough for me to remove it, however, what I found out was that unlike the aftermarket toplinks where the ends (albeit rh or lh thread) just unscrew and fall out, the Kubota toplink, apparently before assembling the zerc fittings into the buckle, drive a stop pin into the inner most edges of the threaded portions. This way, incase one unturns the buckle too far, the assembly won't fall apart.

Well, it all came apart (eventually), and it works well again. However, at the bad end, it now has square thread cut into it rather than the original point pitch cut. As I was backing the bent portion out (and it was a bugger), when it came out, I saw the remnants of the stop pin. Then I went to put it back together, and soon realized that the internal thread of the buckle had been square thread cut by the pin cutting it's way out.

Some of the most relaxing trips we've ever taken were in the Dakotas just after Labor Day. No crowds, no real hot weather, Motels and resturants were more reasonable. We've been up thru there three times in the past thirty years and I look forward to doing it again. Enjoy your trip. Frank.

If it continues to happen I would replace them with new as the bolts will continue to elongate if they are defective (not properly heat treated or incorrect material).

Check the connector and wiring. I don't know about this particular sensor but sometimes with other sensors the wires hang loose and get snagged on brush and end up pulling loose or breaking.

Not sure if that cooling system works like an auto but if the cooling system never gets to the required overflow pressure (controlled by the radiator cap) it won't fluctuate. Does it have a water temperature gauge on it? Is it getting hot?
