I have a Branson 2810 (28hp at the PTO) and wanted a tiller that would cover my tire tracks (68in). the KK 72 in seemed to be a good choice but is rated at 35HP min. Rolled the dice and the Branson 2810 never complained as long the the soil is not unreasonably wet and I run enough engine rpm's to keep the pto turning at 540.

Yes. An occasional night out won't hurt it, but sitting out in the sun and rain continually, and it will fade, peel, crack and rust. Water seeps into threads and seizes bolts in place. At least a tarp is called for.

Normally for loader work you wouldn't "ballast" the front, so if you had a conversation about loader work and ballasting then the fronts weren't part of the equation. However, since you need to ballast the front to counter- act the rear, weighting the front with calcium is a viable option if you can't install suitcase weights. I have a blue TC33D and I have to have suitcase weights with a 6' box blade or 5' brushhog.

I sell Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep New and used anything.
When I was on Active Duty Marines, I worked in the Bomb Dump, we had two Dodge Power Wagons, a 67 and a 68, we had 2 Fords and 2 Internationals. 16 Young Marines had the Fords and Internationals ALWAYS in Motor "T" getting fixed or repaired of some sort, the Dodges NEVER failed and we couldn't kill them. I have been a Dodge man ever since. I have an 89 with well over 300,000 miles on it and it is still running and still looking good.

I have bought three years ago a second hand shibaura SD1800. this is equipped with a twin cylinder diesel engine. On lower left engine block the following number can be found : LET802C M811 1005cc which looks to me, if not the part number, to be the engine model.<br>

Does anybody know more about this engine and where I can find some technical, service and parts manuals concerning this engine ?<br>

Scott,

As stated in my 04 may 06 posting, here are the different speed you can have on your SD1800.
The lever in LH side of your seat has 3 positions : High, neutral and low. In front of this one, there is another lever who should have five positions : from aft to fwd 3, N, 1, N and 2.
1 low gives 492rpm
1 high gives 588 rpm
2 low gives 699 rpm
2 high gives 834 rpm
3 low gives 937 rpm
3 high gives 1192 rpm

These PTO outputs rpm are on 2500 rpm engine rate.

I enjoy this tractor, unfortunately I have no technical, service or part manuals. Do you have any or do you know where I can find some ?

Could the one without a tube be a return or vent line?

Might be a governor issue---what happens when you give it more throttle when it bogs?

What do mean by "removing high and low pressure plugs"?

Also, if your orange is anything like my blue, the hydro pump is isolated from the accessory pump. And if I'm not mistaken (and I could be---too lazy to go look) they're both separate from the power steering (Super Steer) system, so it wouldn't make sense about getting up to speed since they may not be related.

Even though AgraCat went bust, what they sold as an AgraCat was actually a rebadged Jinma (Chinese). Plenty of info all over the net on parts and repair of Jinmas.

It definitely will help the resale value if you keep it covered. Tarps have a few problems - they will promote condensation and rust, wind movement will eventually cause them to rub through the paint and mice and rodents will have easier access to nest and chew through wiring.

The media has reported stories about the long waits for the "free" health care in Canada.

I would check the flow of fuel from the tank. If you remove the hose from the filter base, hold it in a bucket and make sure you get a nice full flow of fuel from the hose. You might have some debris floating around in the tank that closes fuel flow after driving around awhile. If the flow looks good now, check it again immediately after it loses power.

I'd go with a much different design if I were to make it free standing. My use is typically to drive it to a downed tree, chain saw the tree into pieces and log split at that location. If the logs were in various locations, I would just drive the tractor to each of those locations with the splitter attached to the bucket.

I like the 3pth design/idea for the FEL. I was thinking about something similar for moving attachments around (i.e. when the backhoe is attached). While I doubt I'll ever use it 'not' in the ground position, the log splitter is pinned in the receiver and can be used at any height the bucket can lift it at.

Thanks Tony. I was looking for the float drop dimension and you've answered the question. Level is level and non-adjustable is a no-brainer. Do they use gaskets or O-rings? I haven't found any gaskets available for this one on-line, just o-rings.

Thanks for the review and report of your feed shaft problem. I inspected mine which only has about 1/2hr use to see what I could do to prevent the failure. Mine has a grease fitting on the female slip shaft and both male and female are drilled to feed the square flex joints.Problem is the long hole in the male retards flow so one square doesnt get fed. I both drilled the male shaft larger and restricted the hole in the female. Drilling the hardened shaft requires carbide,but you can probably get by restricting the female end with a 1/16 orifice.

I have a JD185 riding mower I just bought. It has 17 hp Kawasaki engine. Engine races up and down. I tried cleaning carb with cleaner and changed spark plug. ANy ideas? THanks<br>

I spoke with the Cornell Agricultural Extension service on this. They said if I cut 3 branches with a mix of good growth and the disease - and I deliver the branches to them during their office hours - for $8 they will diagnose the disease and make a recommendation on how to handle it. Sounds like a plan to me!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I purchased a new backpack Stihl blower that surprisingly does a great job. I had an older blower, but not near the power this new Stihl has. I demoed a pull behind rotary sweeper and way to much dirt and gravel flying.
