Sounds to me that if the fluid is aerated and not hot, the pump is probably shot. Most likley the pump housing expands just enough to allow hydraulic fuid to pass by the sides of the pump gears. When it does that, it cavitates.
When I'm working my backhoe too much or too hard I would have to run cool water over the pump, reservoir and the oil cooler to get it to cool down enough to use it again. You might have a clogged oil cooler too, but most likely it's a worn out pump---in my opinion.

I have heard of some dealers skipping over pulling, inspecting, and cleaning the hyd. suction screen. If clogged, it could cause similar problems to a clogged hyd. suction filter. Be sure none of the SCV's are sticking in the open position. This should be very unlikely as you would here the squealing of the bypassing hyd. fluid all the time and the hyd. oil would get hot.

Interesting. Could you make it free standing so you could use the bucket to carry wood to the splitter and then just hook up the lines? You then would only use the FEL to move it around.

Seems a little odd that it took an hour of use to develop the problem again. Typically hydraulic problems are instantaneous---all things being equal. I'm thinking you must be using a hydraulic circuit which could be the cluprit some time after you are using the machine for awhile. Does it have a loader or aux. ports which have quick disconnects? It still shouldn't affect the system but a quick disconnect that isn't fully seated will prevent a cylinder from working properly causing a relief valve to blow by. Perhaps the relief valve isn't working.

I guess it depends how you rate things. I have lived and worked in 5 in the top 20, 3 in the top ten. From what I know I can not argue with the rating below.

Ken; I know it is little help but mine starts every time on my pressure washer. I would pull the plug and check the spark first, you never know with pick up coils. I would then look at the carb. On the small engine the floats often are not set right.

I wouldn't believe everything you see on the TBN.

I've measured both a 2230 and a 23 and they are interchangable. The only difference is the lower connection to the BH subframe. The two 4-bolt patterns on the top of the fenders are the exact same.

Anyone tried a Ground Breaker x hoe on a BX

You would need to tie the three point hitch arms so they can't go all the way to the top if the trailer pushes. Yes it might be nice for hooking up and other things but if it does push up the hitch the damage coould be costly.

Hi Havey There are only 450 hours on this machine. This is an open bearing (noy sealed) and it constantly submerged in the RT front Final drive oil (full). It is pressed into the Rt front final drive housing and receives the nub end of the cone shaped pinion Gear that fits into the final drive ( keeps pinion from walking) when I took it apart there where no signs of wear on any of the balls from the bearing However both inside and outside races of the bearing where broken in three pieces. I wouldnt think there is that much pressure on the bearing. Im gonna order new bearing, seal and sleeve and give it a try. Just hoping something else didnt cause the failure. (i hate doing things twice)...

I have a shibaura sd1840, i had a bearing to go out on the PTO output shaft which in turn filled my system with metal. i replaced the bearing flushed the system changed the filter and added fresh hyd. oil. when the system is cold it works great, but after it gets warm it won't lift anymore. any help would be appreciated

Brokenarrow, in my state it is illegal to redrill a well that has already been cased. In some cases wells that have accumulated silt and build up over many years can be blown out with high pressure compressed air if there is no well house built around the well casing. If you can drill the well deeper without risking hitting sulfur water, that is a possibility if allowed. Have you considered this possibility? Not sure what the cost of this would be as opposed to redrilling or drilling a 2nd well. You may be able to configure a similar setup yourself.

Peters: the following is a real story.

For reference: In south GA. there are plenty of armordillas.
A few years ago we had a scare at work that the base was going to have a RIF (reduction in force)or may even close. I may loose my job. This realy concerned my 10yr old son. He asked me what would be the outcome if this came about. Would we have enough to eat. I told him not to worry the worse that could happen is that we would have to eat armordillas, and we would not go hungry. Hey food is food. I though he was concerned before, now it turned to panic. Three days later I got a call from the county school district that my son was very up set with the culinatory armordilla delight. They wanted to know if we needed assistance. That took some explaining those were some colorful individuals at the school District . Carefull what you joke about with your kids. You know like the Turkey Spam. I have tried the Turkey spam once you get past the smell it taste alot like armordilla or(possum on the half shell). I have seen the blood soup on TV. Maybe if you had some hot sauce. No, I dont think so. LOL

I broke down and bought an Earthway atv seed and fert. spreader today. Wondering if anyone here has used this brand the m20??? Was a throw up between a threepoint one for $440 or the atv one for $120. I will only be using it for my food plots that are about 3 acres in total.

The chain link fence deal your talking about is used more for smoothing out a already tilled field. It works pretty slick and also can double as a way to slightly cover seeds. ASAP I plan to buy one that Art talks about. I have seem them work and they are pretty darn impressive. BUT to dethatch a living field I think would be time consuming if not impossible with one. They fill up fast with debris. A generic round up sprayed about two to three times thru the summer and then using a chain harrow works great but the key to using any light equipment is to kill off all vegitation first. Once the roots are dead there is not much holding power left in them. The chain link fence works even better behind a wheeler (the size your talking about anyways).
I have seen home made harrows using something like pole barn nails into wood that is then dragged behind the tractor for de-thatching.
