I was box blading under a medium to heavy load uphill in 4X4 when the RT front wheel started banging & popping. I removed the RT front hub and found the bearing that holds the Rt pinion gear nub came apart in the hub. Has anyone ever had this happen? Im not sure if this is a case of a faulty bearing or look deeper for another issue that cause the bearing failure. This is a 4100 with 450 hours on it

We rarely hear of any sort of major problem with this series of tractor, and I have never heard of this problem cropping up before. ....

A bad bearing should have no relationship to the old axle geometry.
How many hours on the machine? Is the bearing sealed or open? If open when was it packed last or oil checked.
Bearings do wear out faster if they get containminated. Also if they are not torqued to spec. I'm trying to remember if they are cone or ball bearings in the hub. I've had my 4400 apart to replace the leaking seals. ....

Hi Havey There are only 450 hours on this machine. This is an open bearing (noy sealed) and it constantly submerged in the RT front Final drive oil (full). It is pressed into the Rt front final drive housing and receives the nub end of the cone shaped pinion Gear that fits into the final drive ( keeps pinion from walking) when I took it apart there where no signs of wear on any of the balls from the bearing However both inside and outside races of the bearing where broken in three pieces. I wouldnt think there is that much pressure on the bearing. Im gonna order new bearing, seal and sleeve and give it a try. Just hoping something else didnt cause the failure. (i hate doing things twice)... ....
