I am looking at the 29 to mow weeds on 10 acres, grade my<br>
driveway ,rotatill 1 acre garden, and tune up a 1 acre riding arena for my daughter. I may disc the same. Im worried its not enough tractor! Then there is price. I was Quoted tractor 17k with 14LA loader and three point hydrolic added for my 5 foot gannon box scraper. Remember this is california... and that was with0ut tax.!!!

Hi, I have a 1902 engine that is shot. Iam told that the 1902 is no longer made or around. I would like to know what the replacement engine is? Maybe something with more horsepower.

I'm a new member and have a brand new TZ25DA with only three hours on it. I wanted to take a moment to warn all of you TZ owners to watch out for the hydrostatic oil filter, it can be damaged easily. I was cutting tall grass in an area of a corral not previously cut by this tractor, using the 918L Flail cutter, clipping along pretty good, when I felt a strong bump. I continued on another 50 feet or so and noticed I had no hydraulic pressure. Stopped the TZ and looked underneath, only to see hydraulic/transmission fluid coming out from around the filter. Evidently, a large rock, shaped and positioned perfectly to hit the filter, smacked the filter and bent it enough to break the seal.<br>

I immediately called the dealer and they said they had the filter in stock, but when I got there, an hour drive, I found that the newer models use a different size, which they don't have. Now I'm down for two days, waiting for a filter to come in.<br>

Be warned, the filter on the TZ models is the lowest point on the ground clearance and REALLY needs to have a guard of sort installed in front of it, IMHO.<br>

So, $40.00 for more fluid and $8.00 for a new filter, is an expensive lesson in checking an area that hasn't been done before, by walking it first.<br>

You can lock the deck up by using the height control knob, set it were it says top with the three point all the way up.

Check the sender, also check the temp of the lower radiator hose compaired to the top, if they are very close the water pump impeller could have come lose not curilating the coolant.

It's coming out of the gearbox below. It is not a ten minute job even for an experieced mechanic taking several hours to dissasemble and reassemble.

I just brought a 2006 ck20 hst with a 120 FEL, industrial tires, 4' brush hog, post hole digger and box blade. I paid 15000.00 delivered for it and I am curious if this is a good price???

I am not sure where the 135 degrees comes from, but the transmission oil in my tractor is a lot hotter on a 100 degree summer day doing dirt work than it is on a +25 degree winter day plowing snow.<br>

I can put my hand on the Tn'T SCV and feel the temperature of the oil flowing through the open center valve body. It will raise a blister in the summer. It's just toasty warm in the winter.<br>

I would imagine the effect of the fan forced oil cooler is factored in just like it would be with the engine cooling system. There has to be an air temperature at which the radiator will no longer cool the engine sufficiently to keep the coolant from boiling.<br>

The Deere specs suggest that above 122 degrees air temp for Hy-Gard and 80 degrees for Low-Vis, the oil in a hard working tractor will retain enough heat after going through the oil cooler to either break the oil down or render its viscosity so low as to cause performance problems.<br>

Whichever it is, if it is that hot(122)outside you will find me under a nice shade tree with a cool drink, and not flogging the tractor.

When I was young my dad and I would remove the individual red bugs with the point of a small sharp knife. It got rid of the bug but it still Itched like crazy. I dont know if it did any good. Read the Info below.
A chigger or red bug is an immature stage (larvae) of the harvest mite. Like all mites, the harvest mite life cycle includes larva, nymph, and adult. In the last two stages, this mite feeds on plant materials. The stage that gets the attention of humans is the larval stage. This is the stage that is considered to be a pest, causing intense itching.

The tiny nymph (chigger) will infest humans (and other animals) usually when we work or walk in tall grass or other such undergrowth. The chigger has a mouthpart similar to that of a tick and uses this mouthpart for feeding. But, unlike ticks, chiggers do not feed on our blood.
A chigger's saliva will at first harden the walls of the hole made by its mouthpart. This hardening gives the chigger a "straw" to use for feeding and prevents our body from closing off the hole made by this pest. Once the chigger has made its hole, it can now feed. Its saliva will actually liquefy our skin cells which the bug now uses for food.

The chemicals or proteins in a chigger's saliva will cause itching in the area where the tiny red bug feeds. This itching is delayed; we sense intense itching about 24 to 48 hours after being exposed to chigger bites. Some itching might be detected in 3 or 4 hours but the worst sensations (a day or two later) are what fool us into believing that we picked up chiggers (or red bugs, as they are sometimes called) in our lawn.
Having a terrible itch from red bugs or chiggers? Where were you yesterday or the day before? That area is usually the origin of infestation. This is very important when eliminating chiggers or harvest mites in all stages.
A chigger is too tiny to see with the naked eye but a group of them can be visible when they congregate on our ankles, waist or other body area. (These areas are preferred by the chigger because our skin is thinner and makes it easier for this microscopic pest to penetrate our skin for its meal.) When grouped together in large numbers they appear red in color. This is their natural color, not caused by blood feeding!

Chigger Myths
Chiggers do not bore into and live inside of our skin. Applying finger nail polish or other household chemicals to red bumps on our skin does not help. They will not burrow deep inside our body and eventually die. By the time your severe itching problem sets in, the chigger is nowhere in sight. Trying to smother a chigger with various products is a total waste of your time and might actually cause more problems.

Chiggers do not drink blood. They are red because that is their color. Chiggers drink liquefied skin cells. Ticks feed on blood; chiggers do not.

A chigger or red bug is not an adult bug. It is an immature larvae.

These pests are not insects; they are mites.

That tiny hole or red bump on your skin is not where chiggers lay eggs. A chigger is a baby, a harvest mite larvae. Only the adult harvest mite lays eggs.

Elimination
Once you have established which area the chiggers have infested, you can treat lawns, fence rows and ornamentals with Permethrin Pro. Use one ounce of concentrate per 1,000 square feet of area to be treated. Use a hose-end sprayer for applying to lawns, fence rows.
This material is safe for use in areas where children, pets and wildlife frequent when applied correctly. Keep people and pets off treated areas until dry. Permethrin Pro will kill chiggers, ants, fleas, ticks and other pests found in lawns. It can also be used indoors for general purpose pest control: roaches, ants, fleas, ticks, spiders, silverfish and other labeled pests.

Check the lines for blockage, little critters maybe the problem. Did you cap the ends over the winter?

Get him a new tractor! I don't think that there are any left in the system and for the money and cost to install you would be better off swapping.

You may wish to check with Agri Supply on Gator Blades. I don't find Agri Supply beat very often on price. Do realize they sell a lot of parts that are not orginial but they tell you that. They do ship. They do stand behind their products great.

First, you almost killed me with your ranting above.

I had a step father who was depression era. Could teach you about saving anything. He had a gas tiller (not one for tractor but garden type that box store sells). The tines on it were mostly straight. Well when they wore down he slipped a piece of galvanized pipe over them (I think that is what he used) there were. They worked fine for him.

When you get the tine make down let me know. I need some points for a subsoiler I am having to trade out shanks on due to not being able to find points for it any longer.

I mix the clipping with mulched leaves and leave it until spring of the next year. Spread it on the lawn. Why waste it.

I have a 790 and use a 72 inch box blade with no problem(my rear tires are loaded). I to was looking at a 990 but that machine puts the trailering issue up a notch 10,000 lbs safly. I have put my 419 loader/790/7 series hoe//box blade on the same trailer a 990 would be way beyond a 7,000 lbs trailer,the base weight alone is up there.<br>
Next year I am looking at a goose neck so I can put more equipement on/wood chipper/saws/tiller a one stop shop deal.
