I thought you were describing the lower swing pivot, and I get now that you are referencing the lower boom pivot.<br>

As to the oil..... I would change to regular Hy-Gard, then cycle the FEL, BH and what ever else you have, and then drain and refill with regular Hy-Gard again. <br>

The goal would be to dilute as much of the Low-Vis in the system as possible. The sump holds 3.9 gallons. My log splitter holds about a gallon by itself. I would guess that between the splitter, back hoe, FEL and top/tilt there is nearly double the sump volume.<br>

If you consult your owners manual you will find that regular Hy-Gard has an operating range of 0 degrees F to +122F. The Deere web site specs say that the pour point is -40 degree F. I keep it in mine the year around. <br>

You will also see in the Owners Manual that Low-Vis has an operating range of -40F to +80F. I don't know how it is where you are but it gets a LOT hotter here than 80 degrees in the summer. <br>

You can warm up Regular Hy-Gard on cold days prior to use, but you can't do anything to keep Low-Vis cool when it is over 80F in the summer.<br>

BTW, you won't find any information about Low-Vis on the Deere parts web site. It just isn't there, but the is a lot of info on Regular Hy-Gard. They just don't push it.<br>

There is a big difference in the rate of droop with a thicker oil. It does not disappear completely, but it is much more manageable.<br>

Well here is where this American is: we have two Mexican owned resturants in town. I like their food. But I love my country. I can give up buying their food until we get illegals issue handled. If we would back away from all Mexican owned business for one week, why not one month no doubt they would understand that. Hey, why not until they are legal.

I was talking with the owner of a pizza rest. today on profit margins. It is much less than a nonbusiness owner believes. If they loss 10% of gross sales most business are in trouble.

In this land we each get to vote, ever year or two in elections but daily with our money. The money has a bigger impact.

First, you almost killed me with your ranting above.

I had a step father who was depression era. Could teach you about saving anything. He had a gas tiller (not one for tractor but garden type that box store sells). The tines on it were mostly straight. Well when they wore down he slipped a piece of galvanized pipe over them (I think that is what he used) there were. They worked fine for him.

When you get the tine make down let me know. I need some points for a subsoiler I am having to trade out shanks on due to not being able to find points for it any longer.

I mix the clipping with mulched leaves and leave it until spring of the next year. Spread it on the lawn. Why waste it.

I have a 790 and use a 72 inch box blade with no problem(my rear tires are loaded). I to was looking at a 990 but that machine puts the trailering issue up a notch 10,000 lbs safly. I have put my 419 loader/790/7 series hoe//box blade on the same trailer a 990 would be way beyond a 7,000 lbs trailer,the base weight alone is up there.<br>
Next year I am looking at a goose neck so I can put more equipement on/wood chipper/saws/tiller a one stop shop deal.

As my dad is approaching age 90 his strength isn't what it used to be. His B7200 could use power steering. Has anyone ever added this feature? Any details would be greatly appreciated.

I just put a set of their 'magnum' blades on my 60" kubota bx deck. Mowed once with them. They work fine, but not as well as I had hoped. The clippings don't really seam any smaller. Like you, I'm not set up as a mulcher deck, and I'm sure that makes a difference. The amount of lift they refer to just indicates how much 'suction' they generate. I had hoped these would do a better job of pulling up the grass from the front tire tracks. The jury is still out on that one.

my steering column has been previously rpaired by someone and has begun pouring fluid from the seal under the steering wheel, i tried to add o rings but still leaks does anyone know part numbers or have an exploded view of the parts so I can see what should be there.

lbrown, this is a fairly common occurance, and usually has little to do with the original installation.

When a pole is first put in, the crew has very little idea of the soil conditions, other than what comes up the auger. When they put the guy on the pole it is tensioned, occasionally the soil is not as supporting as it should be and the tension on the guy strand itself actually leans the pole over.

The same sort thing often happens where poles are set in marginal soil in an open area. If the prevailing winds are close to perpendicular to the wires, the wind against the wires and poles can, over many years, push the poles over a few feet.

You seem to be very familiar with this model. I see I can add after market power steering for around $1000. Are you familiar with aftermaket units and how well they work?
Do you think this was a good unit and would you hazard a guess on a price? They are asking $5850 without mower and $6200 with a good 4' 3 point finish mower.
It is in very good condition, or seems to be. It has aoubt 900 hours. It is a hydrostat. I think I forgot to mention that on my first post.

Any tire can leave a rut, just as any shoe can leave a footprint---all depends who is wearing them and where they're walking. A rut is a function of very soft or wet ground conditions combined with the footprint or surface contact area of the tire along with how much weight is on it. If you mean will it leave an impression? that's a different thing but it's also based on the same criteria. Given the same ground conditions and weight of the CUT, a turf tire, because it's wider and has a doughnut-shaped profile will tend to float more and not leave a square-edge impression; industrial tires will leave a characteristic alternating tread bar impression and float fairly well, but can have a more-or-less square-edge impression though hardly noticeable; Ag tires will leave deep impressions from the chevron-style tread bars sinking in the ground, and are typically not as wide as the other two. For my taste and use Industrial tires are an all- around good choice.

Harley's the most recognized name in power rakes. Seems like the big guys are getting into the action now. Mine was made by Piranha in Wisconsin. This particular mfg. has a rotary broom option that allows you to remove the rake drum and replace it with the broom. Don't think I'd want to be on a tractor when using it though even with a cab!

There are flex harrows which are heavy duty compared to the chain link fence and they can be adjusted to be aggressive.``Delta or fuerst are two manufacturers.

Making the front axle width wider has no appreciable effect on frontend stability. Reason being the loader is connected to the rear axle through the tractor itself---that's where you need stability and weight to counter the weight of the loader and load. Whether you have a wide the axle or narrow, the pivot point remains the same; it's at the center of the front axle which forms a triangle with the rear tires. (Picture if you will a child's teeter-totter--no matter how long or short you make it it still pivots at the same place so niether end is more stable than the other). The only way to get more stability from a wider axle is by having an adjustable, stiff member (such as a hydraulic cylinder) making the pivot point ridgid so that the frame and axle cannot move, similar to waht is found on an off-road telehandler. Also changing the rims around will increase the design load at the bearings and all the other front end parts. <br>
