I guess we've been pretty lucky here as we haven't seen any hydro problems out of a couple hundred plus sold.

A sharp edge always helps! On another note be sure your front edge is the lowest when cutting. That way you only cut once which uses less horsepower and your blades will stay sharp longer. I like to see the front about 1/2" lower then the rear and you might have to adjust your tail wheel for that.

We've worn out a unit in each of our stores at this point with about twenty years of them. They do have their good points but for a small garage without constant attention available I'd say no. You might try a wood stove with a good drip system to rid yourself of the oil and increase the heat value but there is a lot of issues to the maintanence of waste oil units.

A good fabricator could build one in about an hour or two. The original grille gaurds available were mounted on the loader frame not the tractor. You also might just take a measurement of your frame width and find a new one that would bolt on and not be in the way. Remeber to keep enough room for removal of the front panel to access the battery.

I was at a pawn shop today. They had a Kubota G2001 push blade for sale. It was in great shape. It looked older but like it had hardly been used. It had a long steal frame that looked like it mounted under the tractor. The 48" blade mounted on a pivot adjustment that was on the front end of the frame. The blade mounted to the frame with a long rod and 2 heavy springs. The thing was not hydralic. They wanted $150 for it. Is this anything someone in NW ar or SW mo is interisted in?

I could spray water in certain places on any Kubota and cause a problem. Or any other brand for that matter. Parts in areas that aren't expected to get wet are not sealed for weather. Just getting water in connectors can cause oxidation and problems. Manufacturers do not have testers spray everything with pressure washers to see how they do. It's reasonable to expect a tractor to not have problems in the rain. It's not reasonable to spray water under the dash and expect it to be trouble free.

Forgive me for not knowing your application, but for what it's worth:

Generally true HST CUT's don't have a (gear) transmission per se. (My NH TC33D has a variable-displacement pump controlled by the foot pedal which hydraulically drives a fixed displacment motor which drives a "range" gear box (which is a carry-over transmission) which drives the rear axle.)

To address your last post, the shaft into the "tranny" (which it probably is not) should be the swash plate control shaft. Generally these are not necessarily spring-loaded to neutral; most are designed to slowly return to near-neutral on their own and can be spring-assisted with or without a hydraulic damper so that you can't make it go fast or change direction quickly so as to not cause damage to the drivetrain or throw yourself off the machine.

kthompson. Interesting idea w/the rod b/t the leading and back of the discharge chute. I've been thinking along those lines. I'll look at it and consider. The back edge is 'verticle' so if there was a rod on the lower edge front-to-back it would be less likely to hang up on it, if at all. I'm also considering cutting the verticle edge to a 45degree so it would tend to ride up and over the obstacle rather than just stop when it hits it.

I meant in the vehicle's tank. Farmers and construction equipment operators typically (and some RV owners) have transfer tanks in the bed of the truck which are intended to fill up equipment unless it is placarded On Road Diesel. However these tanks are in close proximity for an impromptu vehicle fill-up when no one (like the Law) is watching---or at least they hope they aren't. The odd fuel can in the back of the truck can be just as suspect if the Law has reason to believe you (or worse saw you) are using Off Road for fill-ups.

Also the loader mount holes have just a hair of slop in them. Loosen them up and let the high side drop and put a jack under the low side and then tighten them up again.

I bought a 2425 from Farm Pro through a local dealer. I dont know about this company. The tractor does what I want I have been happy with it. I am not hard on my equipment but I do work it. You will have to preform manintance oil, filter, adustments and the such. Try to find a dealer. Warrenty is no good if there is no one to service the unit.

I have Centipede. I bought a pallet and split the flats down the middle length wise. I put them in a line 2 1/2 feet apart came back with the second line 3 1/2 feet from the first and placed them to fill the gap from the first line. I continued on with this until complete. I did this with my 10 year old son (dirt digger) and my 13 year old dauther (sod woman) I was (sod cutter). Soften up the ground and lay the Centipede and stomp. This is a french method Lay-stomp. I seeded with rye, and fescue just to hole the soil. Water often, 10-10-10 fert. before you plant. South Ga. sandy loam is great for Centipede. Any more questions I will be here. this is the pattern.

You hit the nail on the head. I dont mine taking a chance and usually when I am done with something no-one will even think about buying it. It is all used up. But on the other hand I will not buy junk. I will invesgate. I have had very few problems out of my Jinma, does what I want cranks every time. It has already paid for its self 10 times over. If it blew up tomorrow I could not complain. It is my first tractor, and I am learning.

Getting ready to change out the hydraulic fluid on my Agracat 2940. Only 10 hours and recetly purchased. However the other fluids were nasty and i have changed them. The 3 point does not want to lift at idle. So i am wondering how much fluid does it take to change out the Hydraulics? What is the best way to flush the system? Are there different drain locations? etc. etc.<br>

David, I don't know the specifics on your 231, but I had clutch and brakes put on my 255 a couple of yeas ago. When I got it back, I got some initial leaking from one weep hole near the drum. The hyd/trans was slightly over filled and the leaking stopped after a couple of hours. It's still good with no leaks. Good luck. Dave/
