Let me embelish with a couple more pointers. I drove several 6 foot rebar down thru the block holes once laid to help stabilize them. Thus far, it doesn't appear that the weight of the dirt will bow out the blocks. However, I intend to order some more dirt to fill the block holes. I did that partially with one bed last year and planted some marigolds in them, which are supposed to be good for attracting beneficial insects. You could plant herbs or other things in those holes too.

I left about 6 inches of rebar sticking up and using 10 foot lenghths of gray PVC 3/4 inch conduit, I bent them over into hoops and put them over the rebar so I could but plastic or row protectors over the beds. Worked great!

If either of you is interested, I can tell you what the load capacity of the arch is with a little more information. With an untied arch, the foundations could govern the capacity of the arch. If the arch is tied at the bottom, the capacity is internal to the arch structure.

If you let me know if the arch is tied, and if not what the foundations are, we could determine the capacity.

Maybe someone did it for you before it was built.

As you know, my name is Patrick Webb, I have never been shy about this issue as I want people to know that I am a real consumer, and frankly, with the service, the product and now the sidestepping from this company, I want to be the biggest pain in the ass to jaingling, or however you spell it, Mazama, and Lenar that I can be. I have left messages for them to call me, their promises are hollow, and in michigan, even if there are just three of us that own Lenars in this state, the support is NIL, the messages I left are unanswered, the warranty was a costly piece of toilet paper and the tractor is just an over priced f##$%^& boat ancor.
I purchased this tractor, for specific reasons regarding the use I intended to put it through, 1. Putting in fence posts, 2. moving manure, 3. moving some dirt, 4. plowing snow, 5. moving round bales for the horses, 6. brush-hogging some weeds, 7. putting in drainage rows, 8. disking weeds under, and 8. The point is I only own 11 acres, and am trying to work about 8 acres in which does not consist of my home or my yard.
Now I did buy this tractor from an authorized dealer!!!!!! It was new, and as I stated before, Jim Travioli, did all he could to rectify my problems, but when you are dealing with a NEW COMPANY, ONE THAT IS OUT FOR THE CONSUMERS DOLLAR, an endevor like this can be a MISTAKE OF GREAT MONUMENTOUS PROPORTIONS. IF THE COMPANY IS MAKING LEMONS, AND YOU ARE TRYING TO SELL TRACTORS, THE ONLY THING YOU ARE GOING TO GET IS LEMONADE. LETS ALL REMEMBER, YOU CANT MAKE CHICKEN SOUP OUT OF CHICKEN SHIT. Please remember, this is not just one tractor, this is number four.
This tractor which is number 4 only has about 300 hours on it, and it has gone through at least 3 batteries,(it has an electrical problem some where, the engine sweats oil, it over heats if all you are doing is thinking about using it, it has gone through two starters, and is working on its third, there was a problem with the four wheel drive shift lever not engaging in four wheel drive, due to the detent being drilled too deep, the three point hitch wont stay up due to a faulty seal????, or because it is just a LENAR. I also believe that there is a problem in the transmission, or gears due to a few times where the tractor just stalled after being put in gear, like it was in forward and reverse at the same time. Lenar promised me another cost free replacement, and I have yet to recieve it, or an explanation. I warn all, beware of Lenar, their promisses and extended warranty. In fact, stick with what we know works, GREEN BLUE OR ORANGE. Thanks for your time, Patrick D Webb

Depending on the type of boom pole set up, the top link can really take a beating. If the vertical distance between the lift arms and the top link is 1.33', anything further behind the lower arm pins than 1.33' will multiply the tesion on the top link bracket. In other words, if you lift 1000lbs 2.66 feet behind the link pins, you will generate 2000 lbs of tension on the top link bracket. Your three point is probably rated at 24" behind the pins, stay within the recommended distance and weight. Going further than that could ovestress the top link bracket.

I would start with a high price and see what happens, I learned this the hard way. Four years ago I bought a JD 650 with a belly mower and bush hog and worked it a lot. It had 1,000 hours on it and it was the first tractor I ever owned. I paid $2,000 for it. The guy wanted the cash right then and there and I bought it. I had no idea what it was worth but I needed a tractor for some work around the house.

Last year, I needed a front loaded and bought a Kubota L2850 and put the JD up for sale for $2,500. A farmer in my area stopped to look at it and told me I could get a lot more for the JD. Well I put the JD in the paper for $5,000 the next day and the day the paper came out the first person bought the JD for the $5,000. So, if I was you, start high. You could always come down. That JD went so quick, I think I could of got more than the 5K for it if I had just advertized it higher.

I know things change but the Long were made in Europe a few years ago. I was told today FarmTrac was made in India. Their web site is not 100% clear but it is an Indian owned company. They note they have plant in US and name the few other companies that do. They did not say they tractors were made here.

Are you saying Long and Farmtrac are the same? The company that owns Farmtrac bought a company in NC named Long that built some farm equipment (own some) but I don't think they had any relation to the Long tractor. Of course it is a changing world.

Talking with two lawnmower mechanices they told me their trick for removing stubborn bolt on blades that use a single bolt to hold them.<br>

Take a heavy hammer and hit the none cutting edge of the blade in the opposited direction it cuts. That should be the direction that loosens the bolt as they are designed for the cutting to tighten the bolt.<br>

You are correct the cheap part is the way they cut cost in the parent country. Jinma ran into emmisions problems. When Farm Pro got on the band wagon they were given a time line to correct the emmisions but they could sell the units already on hand. There were a lot of these due to prior knowledge of the cutoff. The latter units were to spec.

We must all remember the honda civic it was considered a piece of crap, little bitty engine, to small, little tires all around non american it is now the #1 on the top ten and americans are building them state side.

Cheap peice of junk needs to earn that name tag. Everything can be a lemon I prefer enexpensive to cheap. What ever is sold in this country needs to meet all safety and enviromental concerns the same a American products. Now we are back to our law makers carefull who you vote for.

I've always been told that bugs hate Cypress mulch and will go elsewhere. When I do mulch, I do cypress around a house and then go with local stuff around other trees and berms, etc. Michigan has a problem with Emerald Ash borers so you can't transport wood from county to county. Usually you can get as much local stuff as you want free if you load it yourself after a good storm. Many of the local tree service guys want to charge for it, since they can sell it to nurserys. They can also haul it to Flint, MI where they have a wood fired power generator that gives them something for it.

When not doing mulch, I generally choose round smooth stones that we call river rock. It is natural, doesn't stain and doesn't catch as many leaves and other vegetation in the fall.

Well I have had it almost two years almost now and over 500 hours. I am still pleased with the unit and it is giving me good service. The only thing I will say negative is that the clutch has been adjusted at least three times to give proper top play. It has never slipped however but the adjustment is something I would watch if you buy one. The clutches in these machines are evidently not a strong point as I have heard others talk about this same issue. I am not one to ride the clutch either nor do I move in an opposite direction before coming to a full stop. The little Perkins is pretty gutsy I had it dynoed at the last service (just a little over three hundred hours) and it turned 79hp at stall and 67hp at rated speed (540 PTO) which is well above factory ratings.

thanks - understood the comments, I don't really care about he duming issue, i can build earthen ramps where needed, but i do need a mix fair amount and i'm concernmed with the little Bx's ability to keep up.

There are a few left but not many. The cabs for the 3030 are air conditioned and not sold as a kit but come as a complete unit.

We do a lot of horse work for the power company and telephone company up here. We routinely use the power companies yards for storage and have a copy of their key.

We never leave anything of value, usually just a load of hay & feed if we'll be working in that area for a while. The reason we don't leave anything is the lack of security. The power company guys laugh about it, standard inventory on every truck is 2 pieces of chain 2' long each, to replace the chain they use to lock the gates, the chain gets cut constantly by people letting themselves in and so is often too short to be useful, so it gets replaced. A 'hardened lock' is only as secure as the $2 chain it is locked onto.

As for a tractor being out of sight, I get lots of visitors at my airport, many of them are looking for a sight-seeing ride. We had one instance last fall where a rather suspicious looking fellow showed up saying he wanted to get a ride to see if he could spot a 4 wheeler that had been stolen from him. One of the instructors offered to take him up, for a price. He called back on the radio a short while later and in a whisper asked if we could have the police meet him upon landing. It seemes the guy had a digital camera, GPS, and a notepad with him and was accumulating quite a list of ATV's, tractors, boats, PWC's, etc.

When the police showed up they ran his lic. plate before he even returned, the cop smiled and said thanks, apparently they knew exactly who this guy was. He had some tough questions to answer, and left in the back of the cop car.

Yup... they threatened me with a CPAP too. Like you, I was a snorer even when I only weighed a hundred kilos.

I decided to try other methods first and finally discovered saline spray. It is amazing how well such a simple thing like that can be so effective.

Of course the weight loss helps a lot too.

When I look around I see very, very, few 60 year old fat guys. That says a lot right there. We gotta be flexible and change with the times.

OK, I've never went out and spent the $$ on the loader that I wanted (hey, I've had 2 MORE kids since I bought the tractor!). So, I've got some large rocks around my place that I would like to move for landscaping, and not drag them if possible. How much would I be able to lift with a 3 point boom on my TC45D? Can I hurt the 3PH, or will a valve limit the lift before damage could occur? Would a set of pallet forks be a better alternative?

I'm also a 7/10 guy. Unfortunately, I'm not always that good, judging by the misfits I allowed in my one rental unit last year. These people gave Hillbillies a bad name, don't think they were housebroken nor familiar with inside facilities. They also didn't believe in paying utilities like water, phone, gas and electricity.
