Check your battery cables to make sure they are getting a good connection. Not just at the battery end either.

You also have a little longer tractor with one more cylinder which could be good if you have a lot of loader work. It's obvious you already feel that you need a tactor in the range you are looking but depending on your needs one could be better for you.

Maybe the Ford Ranger & Mazda badging is the other way around. Ford was selling a small Ranger like pickup (the Courier) before they bought Mazda. My Ranger was built in the Chicago Ford plant. Of course these days maybe the Chicago Ford plant is really a Mazda plant.

Glad to see your pickup is going well (with the exception of the recall). I've been pretty lucky so far with my vehicles. My 1990 GMC S15 made it to 160k without anything major wrong with it. That was replaced with a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee (company vehicle) - I still have that - and am rather amazed at the lack of drivetrain issues at 193k (the AC has been another story).

The 2500HD is basically the replacement for the Jeep, but since the Jeep still gets me places, it's kind of a part-timer right now.

Thanks, I guess it is a no brainer for a difference of $900. I do have another question for you. A JD dealer in my area says I can get a 24hp with loader for 15,5000 and the Kioti ck25 with loader is 14,900, is the kioti still a better choice? Is there a true american utility tractor out there?

You mean not enough moving parts, don't you :) If there's a design flaw here it's because there is no simple way for the operator to calibrate the pots. It wouldn't be hard to do in the controller. Put it into a calibration mode, then push a pedal all the way in and let it out. That would give the controller enough info to know the calibration limits.

Have you checked into the cost of insurance for doing backhoe work vs the amount of work you have for the hoe ??
Backhoe insurance can be quite pricey around here. But I certainly would not dig on any property but my own without it..

They are not the easiest to install and remove. But they are not that hard either. Make sure you wiggle every thing you can to make sure that the pins and bushings are not worn out. I would ask them to lift is with a fork lift and try moving the boom by hand. Look for grease at all the pivots. Be weary if you do not see any. I say all this because I have seen many traded in completely worn out and not worth a thing.

I feel that the tractor is too under powered for the size frame it is. It has the lowest HP to weight ratio of all the New Holland models. And torque is very low. I would recommend at Least the TC40 If you need this frame sized tractor.
