I have a JD 4210 with hard cab that doesn't appear to be heating properly. Although I do obtain warm air, it is not sufficient to keep all windows from icing (though the weather here ranges from below zero to 30 degrees during winter). I got input from a previous post on an owner with a different model (though similiar) changing his thermostat from 160 to 190 degrees. The big question, does anybody know what comes with the 4210 by default? The part number is M801088 from John Deere's web site but I've not been able to determine what temp it is set for.<br>

Wingwiper and Oneace - I believe you when you say that many "warranty" problems are the fault of the customer. But I also work for a large company and I know the transition we went through on our road to "profitability". We used to test for years to ensure that no (0) defects remained in the product. Now we scramble to rush things out to maintain a constant flow of new looking products to the consumer. We do this all for the short term quarterly results and executive bonuses. All business is this way now and you can't stay in business unless you sacrifice some quality to get things out quickly. So although I will defend my company, I am not so quick to assert that the majority of problems are due to the customer.

OK - In the market for a new tractor - newbie - Looked at Kubota and was offered either a L4330 w/LA853 QT 22,895 or a MX5000 4X4 w/LA852 QT for 22,595.<br>

Pro's - Cons on these models or should I be looking at a different Kubota model. These prices were cheaper than a Kioti DK 45s w/FEL and higher than a Branson 4720i. <br>

It could be your water pump leaking from the "weep" hole. It could be running down your front cover making it appear that the front cover is leaking. Check your hoses clamps to insure they are tight.

thanks for the reply. tractor supply does have a 48 xb kk. chain drive. its rated at 15 to 25 i think. its more money than the gear drive.(seems backward to me) but anyway thanks again. mike

It looks like the problem is somewhere in the main cable that runs from the battery to the starter. The dealer was able to bypass it with some jumper cables and it started right up. I asked him to let me know what they end up replacing to fix it.

Any idea who has the best price on one of these babies? with 723 loader, R4 loaded tires and quick attach heavy duty bucket. Is it possible to buy the L3430 for less than 20K. I saw someone that paid 19300,(i don't know what he got with it though) is this possible with the options I need?

I have a Kubota B2710. I do some gardening with it but only some. It does not have the clearance you need for any crop once it breaks the ground. Many vegetables are planted on some kind of bed or the cultivation of them creates a bed. This eats up the limited clearance of any compact tractor I have ever looked at. <br>
Not knowing the JD models that well I would want at least a model L with Kubota just for the clearance issue. Murf gives very good advice when he says you buy the best size for what you will do the most of (hope that is close Murf). I have used a M 6800 Kubota with RFM and it did fine. An over kill, yep in the yard but just right clearance in the field, garden. <br>
As to Dennis comment on the hydrostat pedals, have a Kubota CUT with the single pedal and really like it. I can understand where dual pedals could be an issue. <br>
If you are planning on plowing you will find you need ag tires with proper ballast. The traction will be an issue or could be when working in a field. Some will tell you ag tires will damage your lawn, I have used two different 6 to 7,000 ag tractors on 3 or 4 diffrent yards myself with no show of the ag tires. It is the front tires digging in when turning that will cut the yard. <br>
Be careful where or whom you consider used with. All selling such are not honest. Most states have no title so if it is stolen, hard to know. <br>
I have been very pleased with my Kubotas. Was pleased with Case very well also. Find dealership of any brand you get along well with and then look at the next dealership for that brand just in case the first closes or they change brands. Both happens. <br>
Jim, gotten long here. Look at what equipment you will need for your berries and such. They will do some telling you what you must have in tractor. Pulled equipment eats up horses. <br>

One thing different with those tractors he mentions is WEIGHT. They are heavy compared to the tractors of that size today. They pulled better due to that. Also, the HP went up on them right quick. 601 Ford Workmaster was about 34 HP I think.

Anybody else do the National Farm Equipment Show in Louisville last week. A great show, with good exposure, but the crowd Saturday was unbelievable. <br>

They need to do something about organizing how the show was laid out. It would be helpfull if they grouped exhibitors by type, so you could have an impact. For someone to cover any type of equipment they were looking for, they had to visit 5 different buildings. <br>

Great show, needs some thought to the exhibitor layout.

I used 4' 1/4 wall square tubing for my bridge. My island is about 40 x 40 and the span is 28 feet. I had a local pipe bending company do all the bending for the arch which gives it about 2' rise.

I think the only smallish truck left out there with a stick and 4wd is a Mazda.

How does a manual transmission hurt your back? Is it the clutch and your leg or the stick with the arm/shoulder?

My 2210 wouldn't produce much heat in the winter so I removed the thermostat and found it was only 160 degree. My Deere dealer had no different heat range thermostats available but I was able to match it at the local NAPA parts store to a thermostat identical in appearance but rated at 195 degrees. That cured the winter heat problem and it hasn�t caused any overheating in the summer.

I'm sure that the gage wheels are useful if you are a contractor or maintain driveways. It may also depend on the size and weight of the rake. I have found that the 7 foot rake (without gage wheels) is fine for for leveling, smoothing, and dressing raw soil into lawn around my little 2 acre property. <br>

Maybe my rake follows contours well because it is wide and weighty. I had originally wanted a "York" rake with all the options - which would have been very expensive. Some local farmers told me this would suffice. I am pleased with the performance given that it only cost me a few hundred dollars.

130 hrs so you have probably had it a while. I have heard of some problems with the earlier ones where the temp guage would hardly move off cold. They were suppose to come out with new guages that were recalibrated so now they move more. The one on mine is one of these and it will get up to 3/4 on the guage before the fan comes on but dealer says this is normal. I will see how it does this summer. I am comparing it to the temp guage on my BX 1800 which will get up to 1/2 in the hot summer. I don't know why Kubota can't get it together on these guages. I am disapointed with them on that. They probably need to put another guage on yours.

Hey, I would like to know if I can put a CK30 HST with a 2365 hoe into my 12' dump trailer. Anyone have any experience with this? The weight is no problem (12000 GVW), but the length is- with the inside of the trailer only being 144" or so. I would need a measurement from the front of the tractor bumper (loader will be hung over front of trailer) to the shortest possible transport point of the hoe (even if that involves the hoe being turned sideways). Someone help, please, I am anxious to buy this machine if it will fit, and am having a hard time getting an answer.

We have a RTV 900 with aprox. 130 hours. The temp gauge has never moved even when operating in 100+ degrees in summer. <br>
