I finally figured that out after pricing the attachment for the Mahindra and the Kioti. I can buy a decent used commercial hoe for less money. Now I can get down to basics and hunt for the best bang for the bucks in tractor/loader. Getting too light is still a problem as I move round roles that weigh from 800 to 1500 each. The lift capacity as stated by all of the manufacturers is given at the pins, not out in front of the tractor on forks. My Iseki is heavy framed and has a Big Bend loader custom mounted. Some of the roles are a match for its ability.

In this case, small tractor I would take the mid mount, because the machine operates closer to a Garden Tractor than a big tractor, i.e., mid frame deere or 3000 series plus. I had the opportunity to put a 60" landpride pull behind my 2210 and as mentioned above it cuts wonderfully, but you need to really ballast the front, because the 2210 become very light in the front if you pick that mower up and try to run somewhere. Personally, I like pull behinds on bigger machines.

Engines that aren't run up to temperatures gas or diesel will wear out sooner then one that is. Your shorter life on a diesel is still a couple of thousand hours longer then a gas. There are other things that come into play here which go back to the materials used to make an engine and of coarse the quality control in the building process. So what I'm refering to is life span within the manufacturer with comparable engines. Here in the northeast with the cold temeratures it is extremely important to check the operation of thermostats on engines.

I've got an intermittant problem with the gage reading 0 psi, but the motor is running fine with no noise. So, I think the sender is going bad. Comments?

Yup, my float control detent stopped holding shortly after I got my tractor. Every time I take it in for something I have them adjust it so it will hold but then it just goes manual again.

I have a BX23. I bought a rake with gage wheels after trying unsuccessfully to use a back blade for smoothing and leveling dirt. The rake works great, but the wheels are a must. I replaced the non-adjustable lift arm on my 3pt hitch with a second adjustable one. Now I can shorten both and get adequite clearance for implements. I notice that the new BX24 hitch is higher to begin with.

Thanks for the replies as you've all offered lots of insight. The point that I see being made is that it is very difficult if not impossible as a second hand buyer to determine with 100% assuredness whether or not a machine or equipment may be encumbered. It's like trying to prove a negative. I'm hoping but not 100% sure that I'm not caught up in one of these situations.

I sold one just like it for $8500 last summer. I never found the lack of power steering to be too bad. It is a real beast for its size.

Yeah Willie,

Esab is a reliable brand. I have a big Esab Plasma unit and it has preformed flawlessly and reliable since the day I bought it.

Here's something else to be aware of, (skip if redundant), many of these multipurpose machines are DC only. Make sure you check to see that it has both AC and DC capability.

You guys are right about three phase, the equipment choices/opportunities gets a whole lot bigger.

I do believe that is a wet clutch and the first I'd want to do is check pressures to see if that might help isolate the problem. Have the fluids been changed regularly?
