I hate it when people dump animals. My female mutt is a former pound dog. We needed to run and people didn't knwo that or care to run her. I lived in a location where I could have her chase me on the ATV. Worked great and after 5 miles at 25 mph, she's start to mellow out.

I have problems with white trash folk tossing litter in my ditch. The beer cans are the worse if I don't see them before the mower hits them. Sends shredded aluminum all over. I currently have some sort of bottle and hubcap in the ditch. It's worse in summer when the kids have the windows open or they toss the McD's garbage in the back of the truck to blow out.

I can't vouch for either of these controls but I'd love to have a joystick mounted control for my grapple. Taking your hands off the stick to operate another control slows down operation.

I am in the process of restoring an old Meyers 7 1/2' plow with the intention of mounting it to the front of my Kubota L4330. I was planning on building my own subframe and attaching it to the bachhoe/loader subframe in the middle of the tractor and the brush guard in the front of the tractor. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? One other question - I also considered putting on the Kubota plow undercarriage and then modifying the plow to fit that, but I am concerned about cost. Does anyone know what the subframe alone for a front plow/blower/broom costs?<br>

My lab did the crap roll on Jan 1 (Happy New Years!) an again on Jan 3. Jan 1 was bad due to the baby having a severe diaper blow out the same day. Lots of S**t that day...

Murf, you talked about doing agility with your JR. I've thought about doing that with my mutt. She's just too smart and is suffering from seperation anxiety. I've wondered if I could build some agility type equipment and train her to giver that mental stimulation to help with the anxiety. Did you make your won agility equipment? If so, where did you get plans?

I won't try to train the lab. His attention span is pretty short unless it's food or a squirrel. When running with my mutt, he's oblivious to what's around him. She's run the Lab into trees, buildings and fences. It's funny to see and with him I don't have to worry about brain damage. Can't damage what isn't there.

My female mutt has that death shake down. You can thank my mom for that. She buys them stuffed animals at garage sales for dirt cheap. So the dogs would grab it and do teh death shake on it. Then settle down and rip the eyes out, then nose, then gut it. Makes a horrible mess in the house. But better than rolling in crap.

Rear remotes vs W.R. long Electric 3Rd valve kit for a Grapple on tc35 W/16LA FEL? The long kit has a hand grip with a rocker switch on the loader control so you don't have to move your had as you would have to do useing the rear remote contol.The price is about the same ($500.00). Just like sum feed back on it.

Jarndt..... take a look at my Pic#2.... those tires were 35 inches tall and had a 12 inch nominal cross section.

I had them professionally filled with calcium solution and weighed them before and after. They weighed 65 pounds empty and 185-190 pounds filled. I watched them being filled so I know they were filled to the right level.

Believe me when I say it took every ounce of strength I had to maneuver those filled tires into position to bolt to the wheels. There are no lug screws sticking out of my hubs. You line up two sets of holes and then bolt the tires down.

Contrast that with the pics of my wheel weights where I have 150 pounds of steel in each rim recess, and I add the wheel weights after the rim is attached to the tractor.

I could only get 120 pounds of CaCl and water in these tires, that is why I am having trouble with the concept that you can get as much as you think into your tires.

Plus.... you are considering using fluids that are much lighter per gallon than calcium.

If you decide to go the fluid route weigh the tire before and after and let me know what the difference is......

Like most things in life, buying a tractor creates a series of compromises. If I were looking for a new tractor right now, I would probably be at the Kubota dealer focused on a 2910 or whatever it has morphed into these days, or carefully checking out the Kioti line.<br>

To me the most important factor in tractors, cars and ATV's is the basic quality. I bought the 4100 (and then the 4115) because it was designed and assembled in Japan. <br>

My guess was right, as the Japanese Deere's have proved to be some of the most trouble free units on the market, while the American assembled stuff has spent a lot of time back at the dealership.<br>
<br>
That has now taken a turn. According to the Deere web site, the replacement models for the 2210 and the 4115 are now assembled in America. Yanmar is now a brand name of its own again. So in my mind, we will have to wait to see if Deere has done it better than they have in the past.<br>

That said.... the 4115 is much, much more capable than the BX and significantly more tractor that the 4110.<br>
<br>
Deere Pluses: 1)The quick detach bucket is a wonderful thing. Some days I switch between bucket and forks 3 or 4 times. Being able to swap one for the other in less than a minute is the thing that makes it all work.<br>

2) The backhoe uses the internal hydraulics rather than a separate PTO pump. This makes installation and removal faster and less complicated.<br>
<br>
3) Yanmar engines. When have you ever read where someone is having trouble with a Yanmar engine that wasn't 30 years old and bought used? But the same can be said for Kubota engines. <br>
<br>
Deere Minuses: 1) The hydraulics leak down. Drives me nuts, especially when using the backhoe. It settles back down on the wheels after about 5 minutes and I must constantly pay attention to it. The BX stabilizers would stay up for hours.<br>
<br>
2) Sloppy backhoe. There was no wiggle in the BX hoe. When you swung the boom it stopped where you put it. The Deere hoe flops and bangs around.<br>
<br>
3) Two speed HST. I wish I had a three speed like the one offered on the larger Kubota's. I recently had to go down one tire size all the way around because my 4115 had trouble backing out of holes I dug with the backhoe and climbing hills with the backhoe attached. This is probably due mostly to my mile high altitude. Now my working ground speeds are really slow. That middle gear would be very handy.<br>

The CUT market is changing and I am not sure Deere is making the best of decisions. Last I heard, Kubota was far and away the sales leader in the compact market and that speaks volumes.

This would really depend on your sanding equipment and whether it requires some specific PTO or engine RPM to spread properly. I think you'll need to experiment to find which gear and RPM give you the right amount of sand per area with your rig and the sand you're using.

You may need to check an engin manual for this your engin may have the valves timed or valve timing set befor you can check the gap...paul

The first thing I would check is that, if you even have one, the thermostat is working properly.

I would also try to measure the water temperature. If it is at or near normal levels, then Iwould check to see that you have sufficient flow, and that the heater core is not plugged up, or a line pinched or otherwise blocked.

Well I got the 3505 di Mahindra. Man does it do the job. It does things the old 8n would never even think of doing. I really like the hi/lo gear box it allows many selections to match the right speed for the job.
I mowed two acres and plowed 1 and never had the loss of power like the 8n. I am well pleased so far.

The hiway dept. used to have sand barrels along the road at hills and intersections. I'd totaly forgotten about them till reading this post. Do any states still do that? I think they were meant for truckers to refill their wheel sanders. I haven't seen them on trucks for years. Frank.

I am going to check what AARP has to offer. The plan I am with is Anthem and is a $2500 deductable. It's all I could afford when I retired. Several years ago Ky forced all the insurance co. that would not give them kick backs out. The only one that stayed was Humana. After a while some others returned. Now our politicians(the legal thieves)are trying slightly to get more insurance co. here. Ky has the best paid and highly corrupt politicaians that money can buy. Do you sense a little sarcastic contempt for our thieves, I mean politicians. Our gov. is a doctor and was a federal senator before he was elected gov. He has turned out to be in contention for most corrupt Ky gov. since he took office. He is working hard to be more corrupt than Wally Willkerson or Patton and I think he will make it. Makes me wonder how much he was stealing when he was a senator. Uhh, back to insurance, the gov is trying to get more insurance companies in Ky so I may be able to get something. With Medicare at 65 and a suppliment policy for my wife and I it may work. Maybe by next year the mess will be easier to sort through.

I made a conversion kit up for a friend of my Dad's, it converts his logsplitter into a trash compactor.

It works quite well at reducing the volume of material.
