I only see one Berlon Snowblade. The picture shows a massive lower frame. Is this the unit?

A co-worker has a B6200 serial#10537 with 467 hours. It has a one year old Italian(can't recall brand) made 48" rear finish mower and a rear blade. I haven't seen the tractor yet but believe it to be in very good condition. He is asking $2600. Sound like a fair price?<br>

Beagle, Nice cab! I also like the plow you have mounted on the front. Is the lift cylinder underneath the tractor? It looks that way in the pictures. Very interesting design. How does it work and why did you do it that way instead of putting the lift cylinder on the front? Thanks

The I-Match isn't the most adjustable quick hitch on the market. There are several brands that have adjustable top hook and adjustable reach on the top hook. Land Pride comes to mind. If all your attachments will work with the I-Match it will work just fine. Those that don't work can probably be modified to work by yourself or a welding shop. I'm happy with my I-Match but if I had to do it again I'd look for a quick hitch that had more adjustments. I had to modify a couple of implements to work with it. As far as "slop" goes that hasn't been a problem with my box scraper or any other implement.

The JD3120 is a larger tractor than the B3030. I think it is more comparable in size and weight to a L3130.

Seems like everytime a turn around I am posting something from MSU. You would think I was a Dogs fan. I purchased a T' Shirt one year on the discount rack and got accused of it all the time. It is a tough crowd in the Alabama foot ball ranks. I am about an hour from both and graduate from three other universities so!!!

So much for the rant. They claim here you need to worry about the humidity, temp. and low light in the green house and need special varieties. They recommend expensive hybrids. For home consumption I might just choose a variety that can be grown in the south. Most commercial varieties are not grown for taste but transportation.

I have seen them grown in hanging pots. This places them in the hottest area of your green house and reduces the work of staking.

Prognosis, sticking valve. Inside the drop control valve is usually a ball and spring that controls the fluid flow. If this starts sticking, it's not easy to tell what you have the drop rate set at. I would concentrate more on the drop adjuct valve that the 3-pt hydraulic valve.

In the side of the housing, you will probably see a plug. Under the plug is a ball and spring that the control lever moves to control the drop flow. Make sure the ball and spring are free moving and haven't gummed up. The spring actuates the ball movement, so it could be sticking. It will also act differently after the fluid has warmed the valve housing. Also make sure that this part of the 3-pt housing is free of debris and gum.

Hope this helps. The spool valve is probably not the problem.

My L3430 'plays' with a 60 inch tiller, so I assume you could run at least a 72 inch one. I have extremely hard and rocky soil too. I believe my 3430 could run a 72 inch too.

I have both. I have a B2400-1998- HST - 4+4 and a L3430-2004- HST 4+4 and I am not sure how large the B series goes now. I got the L3430 because I wanted a tractor with a cab for the winter, as I use a front snowblower. This tractor would do everything you want, but you probably would not want a cab if you want to run a backhoe. I dont know much about backhoes though. The great thing about the HST transmission is you can run the tractor at top rpm and just creep along or speed up without having to do any shifting.Same thing if using a FEL . I believe you lose a little hp, but that is not a problem for me. I dont know if the L3130 would run a 72 inch tiller, that would be my concern. I run a 60 inch with my L3430 and it plays with it, so the L3130 would probably run it, but ask the dealer on that. I know nothing about the M series. Always get a little large hp tractor than needed if possible, better to have more hp than not enough(if money permits-that is). I would never get a tractor with out HST and I grew up on a farm in the 60's with gear shift tractors. I see absolutely no advantage, unless you have a problem running a foot peddle(and I realize some people do!).

It seems to me you do alot of talking but don`t know what you are talking about. I bought a new New Holland TC35DA with a loader for 19250.00 Please go to the Kioti board and tell them how much you like your tractor. I am also sure you do your shopping at WAL MART.

The oil filter needs to be removed and replaced with a common oil filter thread. Remove the stub from the housing and have it machined to use a 3/4 inch stub. Otherwise you need to buy from the dealers for $15 plus shipping. Caution if you try to match up thread and dimesions all you will find are hydraulic oil filters and they cost about $35.00 each.
Convert to 3/4 inch screw on filter and save a lot of money and confusion. I use a wix 51515.

I guess that we have discovered that the JD grooming mower will not run at recomended speed with the pto set on 960.
Does anyone know if the JD 261 is set up the same way?

With the hydro you are always in the right gear. If you ever get an attachment that demands your attention then having a hydro is one less thing you have to worry about.

I have a JD 4700 hydro. I also have a grapple/rake on my loader. Doing exacting work with the grapple takes concentration and with a hydro I don't have to worry about shuttle shifting with a power reverser

With a hydro when you let up on the peddle (Forward or reverse) you stop even on uneven ground and can change directions with the touch of your foot. With a power reverser if you go into neutral you have to put your foot on the brake to stop (it's something you have to think about) not with a hydro.

I have a 5234D. I had the dealer install 2 hot plugs on it. One for the engine, and the other for the trans. I live in northern Maine. It was -23 last week. I plugged the tractor for 1/2 hour. It started just like it was summertime!!! The plugs cost me $110 installed. Well worth it!!!! I hope this helps.

TaskMaster is just a label put on for American sales. They're actually DongFeng tractors, manufactured by the DFAM (DongFeng Agricultural Machinery Group) Corporation. Other labels include Terraplane, DF, Diesel Force and Noriker - maybe more.

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately my tractor came without, and when looking at the stereo option, I should be able to upgrade with a headunit that is MP3 ready, and XM Sattellite ready with Infinity speakers for about $250 (not installed - that is another $100) versus the $550 quote from the dealer.

If all else fails, I may have the dealer install the Kubota system which I believe is a Panasonic with a Kubota stamp.

GREETINGS! I'M LOOKING FOR A COMPACT TRACTOR TO HELP ME GET ON TOP OF MY LOT/LANDSCAPE NEEDS. WE BUILT A NEW HOUSE 3 YEARS AGO ON 2 1/2 ACRES, HILLY AND HEAVILY WOODED, LAKEFRONT. John, the Orange paint seems to cost about $6k a gallon. LOL. That is exactly why I have designed & made so many implements myself.

Now, to answer your questions;

"Are you saying that you use a standard truck snowplow blade and adapt it to your kubota somehow?" Yes, that's exactly right. See my picture # 15.

"If so, how is it done and what is the overall cost?" This is just, in my case, the easiest way to do it. There are many ways it can be done, with, or without, a quick detatch bucket. Aside from the utility frame which I was making anyways, the whole thing was about $500, plus my time but it didn't take more than a few hours one afternoon.

"Do you set it up with Hyrdraulic lift and angling capabilities as well?" It has both, the FEL provides the lift, the angle is operated (on this one) by one of the remote outlets via two long hoses. On others I've made the curl function is locked by means of an add-on brace to tether it stationary, and lines that splice into the curl circuit via Quick couplers on Tee's in the lines. This way the side to side motion of the loader control also angles the blade as well. I don't personally like this method since I use both the angle and the curl functions all the time. If you raise the FEL arms slightly, and then lower the blade using the curl function. This makes the plow edge cut right in for things like scraping ice & slush off. Likewise, lowering the arms a little means the blade cuts less and will slide over grass without chewing it up too badly.

I would check your base signal strength on the system. You many have some thing blocking you or has your alignment moved? I had a problem in the summer with the direct. I finally tracked it down to the trees growing taller and the leaves on the trees in the Summer.
