I know there are certain varieties that grow in greenhouses. Which I assumes means there are those that will not.<br>

Have any of you grown tomatoes in a greenhouse? How do they compare to field grown in taste? How did you pollinate them? Any other info you would want to share?<br>

I have a big problem with my new berlon snowplow.I was plowing oa dirt road last week nad hit something in the road,i think it was a rock,the plow flipped forward and cleared the way for the rock to destroy the rear of the frame that sticks down below the main frame.i think there should be a skid plate at the bottom of the frame to prevent this from happing,it seem to be a bad design to me.I called the the new holland dealer and he said they would send me a new angle support,in lew of suppling a new frame,it is my problem to replace the bend up angle iron supports and bent frame,has anyone had a problem with berlon snowplows,if this snowplow had a skid on the bottom of the frame it would have caught a rock,looking for answers,thanks

To both of you thanks.

I have learned another reason the Lord had me born here, I probably would not do well at all handling the snow. Already knew the cold was not my thing. I was made to sweat, not shiver.

I appreciate what you and others are posting at TP much better on problems with driveway stones and such with your help.

As to bugs, I was given one of the personal bug repellants that uses a scent card and butane to heat it. It worked well to lay beside my tractor seat the couple of times I used it. Of course a strong breeze would be problem.

Any one with Direcway satellite service had problems this winter. I had pretty good service for the last two year up until about the middle of Nov. of 05. Since then it seems like I have not had service about 50% of the time. I know some of it is the weather but now days it seems like if it clouds up I lose service.

I found out the other day I can now get Qwest DSL. I am thinking about switching although I hate to lose my investment in Direcway equipment. For those that have Qwest how has their internet service been?

I own a 27HP CUT with hydro. There are a few instances that a few more HP would be nice like when using a single bottom plow. The JD e-hydro is nicer than mine because it will down shift under heavy loads like when you are ramming into a pile of dirt to strike a full bucket. With mine (3 range hydro), I'm in mid-range to get speed going to and away from a pile of dirt or stone. I need to manually downshift to low range to be able to strike a full bucket. (Mid-range don't have enough spunk). The hydro operation is really easy and versatile when mowing around objects.

If you have never driven a stick shift in a car or truck nor a tractor, a hydro may be better.

My next tractor more than likely will be a JD. If so, it will be a hard decision between the e-hydro and power reverser.

Point of fact of vague information. I have on desk the brochures (the pretty color ones you get at the dealership) on the 2305 and the 2320/2520 share the same brochure. If you look at the loader and regardless of model (2305...252) it states "Up to 816 lbs of lift capacity. QuickPark design on 200CX allows attachment and detachment in only about three minutes, without tools". Now, below I have copied/pasted Deere Intranet numbers to show the wide range in loader "capabilities". To me, the numbers don't make sense; for instance, these number suggest the new 2305 with 200CX loader lifts 1.26 times more when compared to the 2210 with similar 200CX loader (712/561=1.26), I don't buy that. If the later statement were true, they would be marketing the heck out of that fact alone. Also, look at the small difference between the 2305, 200CX loader vs 790 with 300 loader. This would imply the 790 only picks up ~30lbs more than the 2305???

Regarding the winch, I think the electrical system should be your first consideration. If I'm not mistaken, you've only got a 20A alternator - maybe less.<br>

Regarding the block heater; NAPA sells a 1-1/4" inline heater that will splice right into your lower radiator hose. A freeze plug type block heater is an alternative, but I've always been afraid of that type leaking or popping out.<br>

What are the winter temps like there? is the tractor stored inside or out? do you use the glow plugs and compression release?<br>

DR,
I bought the Foreman 500 last spring to haul my fat a$$ around my farm. It does great, but the ride is not even close to what an old Polaris offered. I guess Honda figured that, since I bought my Foreman, it's time to offer independent rear suspensions! Anyway, it's been a great machine so far, although I do have a second recall to deal with. Best of luck!

I have a Kubota B1750HSD and I want to adjust the valve clearances. Does anyone know the gaps? Also looking from the front of the tractor which is the front valve in each group, intake or exhaust? Thanks!

Here's two questions for our resident experts. I'd like to put a winch on the front of my #284, but clearance seems to be an issue between the FEL and the chassis. Any suggesteions or ideas? Also, I'd like to get a block heater - the Jinma diesel just doesn't like the cold weather. Any suggestions? I've seen them from $29.95 to over $100. <br>

I use Tanaka products String trimmers, edgers, blowers etc. I own a landscape/property maintenance company. Tanaka has served me well. Cheaper than the other players and just as durable if not more so. Give them a look.

You are right, you WILL NOT have a rodent problem if you have a couple of black snakes around. Also you will not have a poisonous snake problem either. Check the laws some non-poisonous snakes are illegal to kill to the tune of 10 years and 100K. Otherwise catch and relocate.

Just back the car in instead of pulling in forward and let the puddle be your passenger's problem;)

I agree w/ the others. There is no quick-fix for this one. A drain that depends on percolation will eventually fail. Most likley sooner than later. If you have enough grade away from your garage you could discharge thru a pipe into a yard swale or something, but again... a very big fix for a very small problem.
