It isn't that different engineers rate all things different. The PTO horsepower is done on a dyno and engines are run for gross horsepower numbers. Different systems get different results! Different pump sytems are better at one thing then another and there might be another type of parasite power loss.

When I sold my first vehicle, my 1966 Chevy PU many years ago, I promised myself one day I would replace it. I started looking about 3 years ago and wanted one just exactly as mine was 30 years ago. I looked for 2 years and finally found it....but it was in Montgomery Alabama! I bought it and had it shipped to my home here in Olympia WA. I now enjoy going for weekend drives and remembering the old times! Please see my picture.

I have a JD 4310 32hp. I use it for the same purposes you say. It is a hydro, no shifting. I say once you go hydro you'll never go back to manual. For landscaping around the house in tight places it's nice, especially for a beginner like me, one hand on the steering the other on the loader control and the feet do the forward, reverse and stopping. I don't know what you're paying for a 60hp, but my 32hp gets my half mile drive maintenance done no problem.

There are several. But get your credit card warmed up..... they are spendy.

It is cheaper to buy a separately powered chipper than it is to buy a pto model, a lot cheaper.

I sure wasted a lot of time and money on a chipper. A dump trailer would have been a better investment.

Anyway.... look at Gearmore.com, Rankineq.com, drpower.com and maybe a couple others I will think of later.

After reading your post I went to the dealer and looked at the 3520 with the factory cab. Started shaking and asking stupid questions like....how much is it. Got in it and started grinning ear to ear. Loved the heat and A/C, and the filtered cab design. Started coming up with reasons I needed this fabulous tractor. Checked to make sure it would fit in the garage and everything. Then all of the sudden.......I hit the reality brick wall. How am I gonna get this past the finance boss. So I started doing calculations with trade in and such, it really isn't going to cost more.......ha ha. I am very afraid to go back to the dealer at this point. I am afraid I am going to walk (drive) home in a new tractor. Sad thing is, the one I have now works perfect for the situation I have. But I keep seeing myself in this tractor. The salesman knows it too. He has this big smile on his face because he knows it going to happen. Its just a matter of when and if I would survive the tongue thrashing I surely would receive for the next 30 days. But you know what, I can hand 30 days.....hehehehehehe

I got a call from the dealer on Friday saying that the Curtis cab was shipped from the manufacturer and they expect to have it on Tuesday or Wednesday. Looking forward to geting it installed. They said they would turn it around in one day. I take some pics after it is installed.

Grinder, your comment about the "cheapest price may not be the best price" makes me laugh at my own experiences. My wife always insists on getting 3 estimates for a job. Usually we end up going with the HIGHEST price because we trust the person with the highest price the most. I feel like I am one of the 3 stooges bidding the price up higher than the original quote!

If you swap the hoses so your tilt gets plugged into the up down curcuit that could help isolate the end that might be your trouble.

You would only need a small chain or truck style link. Be sure that the cross chains aren't to long this is where you get into trouble or thru improper installation and they aren't in place.

Peters; That strikes my funny bone about Red Green probably trying to "Duct Tape" one of those together because I seem to remember using some "Duct Tape" trying to hold something together on it. We kept it on the road till no junk yards had a cylinder head left for one. I don't have a clue how many water pumps that thing went thru. I better stop I'm getting depressed just thinking about that thing. Frank.

That is true. Since I have only three feeds two hots and a neutral to the detached structure this is why I must bond the panel. If I don�t bond it and I have a ground fault more then likely this would not trip the breaker in the barn since earth is a terrible conductor of electricity. Now with me bonding the neutral and ground the ground fault will travel back to my main panel via the neutral which will give it enough resistance to trip the breaker. This is why I must bond the panel in the pole barn.

It is my understanding Dixon used to have a very complicated drive zero turn mower. That was before the hyd direct drive designs used by others and I assume them now.
What little complaints I have heard on them had to do with their old chain drive. No idea how well their newer machines are. Local Dixon dealership dropped them for another brand and then closed.
For our southern yards, mine has just gone brown. Not long that way at all.
Boy is a zero turn the way to cut grass.

I checked to see what type of filter I have on mine for the HST. It appears to be a NH filter because as you described, it has the "Change at 50 and 300 hours" on it. The way it was positioned I could not see any number on the filter. While you can picture the difference between what works and what doesn't, why not try seeing if you can find an after market filter like WIX. You'll probably be able to tell just by looking at it if it will work or not after just going through this. From what I've read they're a good filter. I have WIX as the Hydraulic and Oil filters right now. I don't know how I happened to have a NH HST filter and WIX for the others. I'd still be after them to give me replacement filters for the ones that blew out. As you can see from the filter numbers on their website, their filter replaces the SBA340500890. You can find a dealer near you. I'm just north of Scranton and get my WIX filters in Clarks Summit. I don't know where you are in NEPA. I'll probably get a WIX for the HST next time I change it. Hopefully it won't blow out. Let me know how you make out with future filters. Steve

I highly recommend loading the tires on this size tractor. With RimGuard you will get about 110 lbs into each, and I find that is sufficient for light loader work, but for the really heavy stuff, I put my weight box on that is filled with concrete.
