Hi, just wanted to let you know our experiences with theTZ25 HST with bucket. It just left home again for the third time in 6 weeks for the same problem hydraulic fluid leak )what a mess). We have had it 6 months (purchased new) It has a 60 " deck and mows great but we are getting very frustrated with the service all I hear from my husband lately is we should have bought the Kubota!! The seat broke and warranty is fixing it but it has been 3 weeks waiting for the part. it dents and scratches really easy.

When they picked it up this time we got a replacement TC26
we will try it out while we are waiting It actually looks like a tractor .

If you want a glorified lawn mower go with the TZ. This was the first brand new item we have ever had and so far it has not been a good experience. We has a 1985 Massey 1020 and never had a problem with it. Go with the TC you will be much happier.

Stephen...was your question on a Toyota Tundra? I have a 2004 model and did not know either of the trans you mentioned were available. A point that also affect gas mileage I don't think has been touched on is rear axle ratio. It could be the auto is mated to a higher ratio rear end. It has been done by some mfgs.

Kwschumn....in looking at a small pickup a few years ago I was told the towing range with the manual was less, as they just could not fit large enough clutch in the body of the truck.

Peters...you said some new autos lock in each gear....if that is so and you have that type of trans then that would solve the overheating issue Chief is hitting on, correct?
I fully agree with you that a vehicle equiped for my flat land (east coast) may not preform well in even the Applichians much lest the Rockies. By the same token a towing package for those areas make no sense for someone that only runs flat land or very seldom hit any mountains.

Chief...as to the difference between the HST and auto and manual.. no doubt each is different..but each does have their place and if used properly (which is where much disagreement seems to be here) works well. One of those issues is not overloading what ever the package is.

It is hard to believe that so many mfgs have a similar stand on towing with autos and they are all wrong. This being U.S. and foreign companies.

Someone mentioned not finding a pickup with manual trans at their dealership and it was told they need to find another dealership. Don't come to my part of the world if looking for the manual either in pickups either.

Now...are there some sorry auto trans out there, yep. It has been said here there are some sorry manual trans and no one has disagreed. My brother has had a lot of trouble with a certain U.S. brand of pickup with auto. They just did not hold up for his towing. Now..he thinks the light model should be able to tow the 10,000 load on a trailer. Sorry, you can over load a bulldozer also, even on flat land.

Someone said if they could get a V8 Tundra with manual they would...not sure on their packaging now but I think they offered that on their basic pickup.

The original Farmall "Cub" built in the fourtys and fiftys had a PTO that ran backwards. It was a small diamater shaft with more splines than a standard 540 of today. Frank.

Do you know of a company that makes a disconnect that cuts both power legs and the neutral?

If you do not have to cut the neutral, then if all a disconnect cuts is the two power legs, what is the difference in using a disconnect switch and cutting off the main breaker?

I bought a 200W magnetic heater for my Agracat 2920 (254) last week and I'm returning it and getting a tank heater. The mag heater just isn't make for the WI winters but I was using it to help with starting not the hydraulic pump. It might work just great there, I do suffer the same problem that you do in that regard but I think I'll switch to a lighter fluid to help correct that problem. I don't think PA gets quite as cold or as cold for as long as we do so I might be a good $35 investment. I like the idea of the heat lamp so I might give that a try also, I only use the tractor to clear snow in the winter so it can be a used as needed. Good luck and keep us posted on how you do.

1*When I was growing up a neighbor had a King Midget for a while.
The King Midget was built in Athens Oh a town about 45 miles from here.
Was up in Amish country around Sugarcreek Ohio about 5 years ago. Came across an antique car show in near by Strasbourg Oh. One of the old cars on display was a KING MIDGET. Been to several Antique Car Shows and displays but that was the only one where I ever saw a King Midget on display.
2* Back then another neighbor my cousin who was about 6 years older than me had a Whizzer motor bike. Put me in the mind of a Schwinn bicycle with a motor on it.
Somewhere back in those good old days I found one of the BIG rear wheel pulleys from a Whizzer and installed it on the back wheel of my bicycle then bolted a lawn mower motor to the luggage rack grabbed A BELT AND I Had MY OWN MOTORIZED BICYCLE.
3*My uncle another neighbor back then used to occasionally buy a car fix it up a little then sell it.
One of those cars was a Crosley and another one was a Henry J.
Our local Shriners club still has a Crosley they use in parades.
My uncle Called the H J a Hunka Junk.

I purchased a B7610 last july and like you I finish mow about 4 acres. I am really happy with the results. I also mow for several family members. I now have 85 hrs on my tractor and am still really pleased. I have r4 tires and they are easier on the lawn than I thought they would be. (just watch the turns) I also use mine for box blading and bush hogging and planting feed plots for wildlife so the r4's really do me justice.

Our tiller for our E14 has broken, possibly the tiller drive shaft, we're not sure. We NEED to find a repair manual or somewhere that can fix this. Actually ANY info on these tractors would be appreciated. We are located in the Southeast Tennessee area. Thanks a bunch.

I think I would be leaning pretty strong towards the 4410 as well. Be sure to pull the battery out and check the radiator, steering cooler, and shelf sheet metal BEFORE you buy it. You might find a nasty surprise that will give you a bargaining chip.

Actually there is only so much arctic air to go around.

If you guys back east are getting slammed, it is with the air mass the would normally reside over Alaska. When it moves south it is replaced by warm air from the Gulf of Alaska and Anchorage gets Kodiak's weather.

Next time you read about the citrus crop freezing in Florida, check the weather in Anchorage. It will be in the forties or warmer.

Is this the first time you've started it since changing the filter? Did you get the filter at the dealer or is it after market? If the gasket doesn't seat within the lip of the housing when you put it on I'd say it's the wrong filter. You may want to make sure the gasket from the previous filter isn't stuck there also. I also have a TC 33D and the squeal during cold weather was eliminated when I changed to a lighter weight hydraulic fluid.

Reading these boards has given me some valuable insight into tractor buying / owning etc. Now I'm ready to buy within days as soon as I can make up my mind. I only have two specific uses for the new tractor: mowing a 2.5 acre rolling lawn with a few trees and snowblowing a 900' paved driveway that has inclines and produces 2-3' drifts along much of the way due to the slope of the land. <br>

I just sold a JD X575 w/62" deck and 47" 2 stage blower. The machine mowed the lawn like a carpet, but couldn't handle the driveway. Lack of weight, not power, seemed to be the issue. I am convinced a CUT is the way to go but am concerned that the larger size/weight of the CUT will not match the mowing quality of the X series. I have narrowed my choices to either a Case DX29 or Kubota 3030 (Both Hydro). If anyone can give me some real world experiences on finish mowing with these size tractors, It would be greatly appreciated!! Wife has given me the green light and I want to move on this before it turns red!!! Thanks for any help.
