I have a Yanmar 1601D. I'm thinking it has 19 hp. Uses will be from grading hardened driveways to flattening out places where stuos have been cut off. probably all conditins of work will be extreme. Unit weighs 317#. Tke tractor weighs approximatelty 1600#. Do you think weight in the front will be required.

The comments about the American media are particularly disheartening. I wish more people with similar military connections would do the same in order to combat the media's spin. They're not even being subtle about it anymore. And it seems more and more people (who can't think for themselves) are jumping on the bandwagon. It's frustrating to watch. I hope most of our troops don't think the majority of Americans share the opinions the media force feeds us on a daily basis. I'm glad to hear a first hand account that the Iraqis are starting to stand for themselves and that we aren't viewed as "invaders" by all of them. I'm also glad to hear moral is high among the troops. I'm sure I represent a lot of people when I say that I'm proud of what our guys are doing over there. Tell your friend to keep up the good work, stay safe, and God bless America.

I appreciate the prices and locations on where to get a top link. i have found cat 1 top links from 13" to approx 24" long closed up (eyelets run all the way in). so if i could get a approx mesurment of a top link that is on a 55 series tractor that would be greatly appreciated. if i dont matter what the length is then ill just get anyone. thanks for your help.

Funny you should ask. We just finished edging our 600' limestone drive, after a bunch of debate on the best way to do it. We finally decided to try landscape timber if we could get a good price. I hunted around and found that some mills will sell 2 year old timbers at greatly reduced prices, less than used railroad ties. We were able to get 6x6 hardwood, treated to rejection timbers for $4 a piece.

A couple of things we did that seem to be paying off. We used a Middle Buster to trench for the timbers. This worked really well, no digging required. Did a little cleaning out in some places, but saved a lot of work.

We also lined the drive with a highway grade geo-fabric before adding another 100 tons of 21AA crushed limestone. The box blade made easy work of putting a good grade on the new road. After a few rains, it looks like a paved driveway.

They look great, but there are drawbacks for the timbers and they should be considered:

Snow plowing will be a little tricky, trying to make sure you don't tear up the new timbers.

The edges of the timbers don't hold up real well to careless driving. Make sure you make the road plently wide enough, 12'0 minimum. Fill the gravel to the top of the timbers.

We just couldn't come up with a better plan at that price. She wanted to add definition to the road, and the timbers definitely look great. Take the good with the bad, they are doing the job.

Your B3030 will run the 5' King Kutter II with no problem.
I feel the KK II tillers are are a heavier/better built tiller than the XB tiller.
I've owned a KK II tiller for 5 years with no problems.

Hot rolled A-36 should be fine for residential use. For business use, I would recommend AR 400. That is a wear resistent material that requires carbide tooling to be able to even drill a hole. Road plows use that stuff. Another place is prison bars. It work hardens when a hacksaw is used.

I would find another dealer or take it up with the area NH representative. The seal should not be wearing that quickly something must be damaging it as it is turning. Your service personal should find the problem and not just put in a new seal and reassemble.

The water in the oil forms an reverse emmulsion. Milk is a normal emmulsion, oil in water. The high surfactants in the diesel oil normally form a white emmulsion.
The diesel will not give you an emmulsion.

As has already been mentioned, you are gonna need a LOT longer and heavy duty trailer. I have a 14 ft. Jamar 7,000 car hauler trailer and my 4410 with the FEL and filled tires was every bit of what this trailer could handle and probably too much. I could not get the weight distribution right without loading the tractor with the FEL bucket raised into the air and over my pickup truck bed. (not a good way to haul a tractor but that was all I had at the time) I would suggest at the minimum a 20 ft. gooseneck or better yet a 24 ft. goose neck trailer with at least 12,000 lbs. capacity and electric brakes on BOTH axles. It will surprise you how much length a tractor with a FEL and hoe can take up when PROPERLY loaded. (be mindful of the hoe dipper stick height when loaded on the trailer so you don't hit any bridges or overpasses, etc.) A little extra length also leaves you some fudge factor to carry along a few other implements or other equipment. Triple axles trailes are real nice with respect to load distribution but are a royal pain in the butt when it comes to making sharp turns. They can really be bad about dragging tires around turns and in some cases over stressing the undercarriage.

There used to be a company called EZ Weights that manufactured bracketry that allowed the used of exercise weights as wheel weights. I believe they have gone out of business. I see in your profile that you own a JD 4310. If you haven't already; have you considered having the rear tires filled with "Rim Guard"? It is more or less windshield washer fluid. I own a 4410 and have my rear tires filled with this fluid. I also use an additional rear counter weight that I suspend from the rear 3 pt. hitch trailer hitch. Wheel weights are preferable and really handy when it comes to a flat tire but they sure are expensive as I am sure you have come to find. You may be able to fabricate some barbell weight brackets for rear wheel weights but be VERY careful and pay close attention as to how these may effect the torque retention characteristics of the wheel flange bolts holding the rear wheels and tires on the axle flange. If they cause the wheel bolts to loose torque; this can cause some serious damage to the axle flange threaded holes.

There is no easy simple solution for snow removal. Many people in our area have people plow but with a average year of snow they have to have larger payloaders come in to move it back. Some driveways lay right to the wind so they don't have banking problems and some lay the wrong way and a blower is really the only complete way. Tractors have the ability to have a heated cab so that does take one of the advantages of the truck away. The older trucks can be a problem for maintanance when older and naturally rusty and just having another tool is not always the answer.

Thank you for the info. I'll hunt for a filter on the inlet side of the charge pump. As far as the linkage and valve action goes, I've pretty well convinced myself that it is impossible to install wrong... But maybe that sort of thinking is part of the problem. I've got it in for new tires now, and when I get it back I'll replace the hydraulic fluid I used for break-in and clean all the filters I can find and give it another try.

I made both of the tools. You don't need the splines just a
round shaft the same dia. as the inside of spline and step down to the hole in the pressure plate. that centers clutch when you tighten the bolts that hold it together. The entire
setup procedure is in the tech Manual. Other tool sets the
contact points so the clutch grab evenly as you inguage the clutch. Again this is not hard if you unstand how they designed it to work. These tools are just aids to get it much closer on the bench. You can not ajust anything once you install.
