TSC and others have magnetic block heaters. Use with caution though. Warm oil at start is a very good idea. Letting a block sit for a long time warm is not. We have had this discussion before on this board.

For the hydraulics, make sure you let the tractor warm to operating temperature before using the hydro or hydraulics. The hydraulic fluid also lubricates the drive train.

You may also want to double check that your oil pan is steel before getting a magenetic heater. Most of the 7800 drive train is cast alluminum.

You may find you can change out your fixed ROPS for Foldable. The bottom yoke may be the same, just need to replace the uppers. Not sure this is possible on the BX, but may be worth checking into.

That looks like it should work Randy. Good luck with it, and thanks for the pointer. When my Strongbox battery dies I'll probably do the same thing as a preventative measure.

I have a B2150 HST with 1500 hrs on it... It is now in a Kubota shop for power steering trouble... It started out that I had lost all power to the steering even at high rpm... They have replaced the flow divider in the priority valve and now have full power when turning left but no power when turning to the right... A new steering mechanism is $1,200 which is not the Christmas presant I am looking for.. Does anyone have any ideas that might offer a more feasible solution...<br>

I am trying to locate a seed plate for shelled peanuts, IH no.621732-R2. This plate has 32 cells and was used in the IH combination hopper during the 50s. I have the hopper bottom (621730-R2), but need the seed plate. <br>
Appreciate anyone with help on this.<br>

I would post some pics, but I have no way of doing that. If I find a digital camera, I'll get a few posted.

Basically, just center the male end of the U-joints into the socket of the drive shaft. Weld it in place. Do this on both ends. This will leave the female ends of the U-joints open to slip over the square shafts on the chipper.

When done, you'll dind that the shaft is about 3/4" too long. Just use a cutting wheel to shorten it a bit.

I found that the pin in the U-joints I listed were soft. They will eventually shear. THIS IS OK! Just replace them with a 1/4"x1.25" bolt and nylon lock nut (direct replacement). If you use a relatively soft bolt, it will act as a shear pin, and is easy/cheap to replace compared to the Jinma knuckles. I would discourage using a grade-8 bolt since something else will break before the bolt does.

You may be able to view it on line at mytscstore.com The small universal side entry is part no 02-98962. I'm on my 4th or 5th year using it and needed to make some brackets to fit my tractor for first installation.

I'm interested in the Pre New Holland Ford Compacts.<br>
I would guess in the years 1994 to 2000 when they were plain old Fords before NH got involved. <br>
My cousin has one he bought new sometime during that period.<br>
The looks / style and size of it resembles the Kubota B series tractor of those years.<br>
I visit 2 other tractor boards regularly and have been on several other ones.<br>
I have never seen these particular Fords mentioned or discussed on any of the boards.<br>
Would like to know what compact models and numbers were produced by them in those years.<br>
Would love to view pictures of them.<br>

I have an L2850, not that it matters much. However, the last drain line I put in this summer, I just borrowed a single disk plow and dug the ditch. I lowered the plow and then just drow forward and then backed up and did it two more times. I ended up with a nice 18-20 inches deep ditch with like "0" work. I installed the pipe and then covered the ditch back over with my box blade.

Thank you for the quick reply. Yes I researched this item and that was how I found out it was no longer valid. The part index referrers me to a new control valve which is a couple hundred dollars. Since I was unable to find a rebuilt kit, I wanted to make certain of my problem before spending that kind of money. I�d hate to spend a couple hundred bucks to find out I still have the same problem.

There are a couple of companies on the west coast that specialize in servicing these imported tractors. One company is below. Someone mentioned Beverage tractor on the east coast the other day, but I have not seen it on their web site.

Cub has some good lines of manufacturers and like the rest just have the ammenities installed here. The parts for these companies are normally good and most parts are still readily available at 25 years. You might find a part that for one reason or another might get back ordered but that happens with all makes.

I have a quick hitch, I don't like it. I think it would be fine if, for instance you had a land pride quick hitch and used ONLY Land pride attachments. I use several brands of attachments and they are not universal enough to easily use the quick hitch, I would much rather have the telescoping links

Sounds like you got a reasonable deal on Green. I would not avoid your friend. They make most money off their other equipment. Maybe he will be priced right on other equipment you need. I know you will see the difference. I jump back and forward in time all the time climbing from the MF65 to the 955 and the MF65 is more modern than the 800.<br>

The 4110 is similar in design to the X55 series tractors which are built light for mostly lawn work. The 4310 and 3320 are more convention work horses.

The Yanmars of this vintage were also sold in Green paint as Deere. There is very little difference between them and say a 650 Deere. You can safely use the Deere oils, filters and some parts. There are a couple of companies on the net that supply parts.

For the Deere oil changes are at 50 hours, transmission Hydraulic oil should be 200 hours I believe. I will need to dig up my manual.

Is the PTO turning in the correct direction? I know Beverage refurbs their tractors maybe they changed the gears?

Concerning the other board; "Use at your own risk". I don't sign on there so I can not verify the data.
