Coming from heavy industrial background, I know that BALDWIN makes damn good filters and makes OEM CAT filters...and that is good enough for me. They have a sweet cross-ref online. An even better cross-ref tool is FLEETGUARD, which makes filters for just about everything.

OEM filters are not always the best, as my own John Deere OEM filter test proved. Also, if you want to learn a few things go here:

The lower 3 point arm are on clips so you can remove them and replace them easily when you screw up. The upper lift arms are built stronger and strength should exceed the strength of the hydraulics. Bending them can leave large problems.<br>
If it makes you feel any better most farmers have bent a lower 3 point arm. They are made only to pull not to push.

Sorry about the cut and paste below but that is how the troubleshooting sympton guide in the shop manual outlines doing the checks. Take a look and see what items you can check. I think as far as the tests & adjustments section goes; that is when you may want to turn it over to the dealer as this requires some special tools. If you are lucky it may be something along the lines of a a pedal postion potentioment being bad of out of whack or debry under the pedal, although from your description, it sure does sound like and internal problem issue like the drive pressure relief valve sticking or fwd/reverse proportioning valve. smag - that's a different experience from what I had. I wasn't allowed to walk or go anywhere unescorted. Course, I didn't try either. But I was always escorted wherever I went. But then I wasn't in Beijing but a more industrialized city that doesn't have a large western tourist business.

It is a sleeping giant and the population is getting a taste of western consumerism. It will be interesting to watch of the next couple of decades.

I dated an artist for several years while at college. Gesso is what artists all use to prepare a canvas. It is a water base product that seals the canvas and has a somewhat rough/porous texture that all types of paints adhere to without bleeding. You should be able to find it at any store selling artist supplies or any university bookstore.

I would suggest preparing the canvas in the proper way to help the new artist in whatever way you can to encourage them. The tubes of paint are also somewhat expensive and they will need about a half dozen or more primary colors for mixing with a pallet wheel.

Maybe your artist will be famous some day.

If it has a hydraulic clutch mechanism I'd lay my money on the slave cylinder having bad seals.

This is a fairly common problem on Ford 1 tons.

The seals in the slave cylinder go, allowing the fluid to escape around the piston, this allows the clutch to engage without releasing the pedal. Other times it either doesn't fully disengage or even move at all.

Some people just pour the reservoir full of Lucas Power Steering oil, but it's not great in cold weather and is only a band-aid anyway.

Pull the inspection cover if there is one, and have a look at what it's doing.

Like Peters mentioned, we use old conveyor belting.

Conveyor belting is designed to stand up to a non-stop barrage from aggregates hitting it. We have some pieces that have probably got 6 or 7 seasons of commercial plowing on them, they are wearing down, but are still useable.

The other thing that helps a LOT is to use skid-shoes with any edge other than steel, that way the weight of the plow sits on the skid-shoes, not the soft edge. This way the rubber acts like a squeegie and merely wipes the surface clean, instead of being forced down into the surface and grinding away at the rubber.

If you ask nicely at a place that sells snowplows, or have a contact who snowplows, ask them, every plow sold comes with a set of skid-shoes that usually never get used, they will usually be able to scrounge you up a set. I know we've got dozens of sets of them in the shop.

Michigan's governoress, Jennifer Granholm has done nothing for our state except raise or put taxes on everything. She is in the process of selling of state land. It is a very time consuming and cumbersome way to buy land. They're trying to consolidate. They're hoping to sell off little pieces and swap with others to make larger mass areas. It takes more patience than I have.

I can speak for the 2210, which is essentially identical to the 2305 in terms of capabilities.

a) pull a 5' boxblade, NO. I do have a smaller volumen wise 4' boxblade and that's all the machine really wants on the rear.

b) Pushing snow, I use the 54" front blade and it's awesome, you will not be dissapointed.

c) Cutting 6-9" grass, no problem, the machine is an animal.

I recently bought the 4200 with the 27hp Kawaski engine. I'm very pleased with it so far. I mow 6 acres reguarly and have a 900 foot driveway to clear in the winter.

I would have preferred the turbo diesel, but I just didn't want to spend that much. The 27hp seems to be very adequate for my use.

You can cheat a few extra inches of lift out of your limited cat. 1 by replacing the fixed length lifting rod with a second adjustable rod (see my pics). You could also park the rear tires on "ramp" built with wood planks or similar. However, I would highly recommend that you look at a digger built specifically for a sub-CUT, even if the only difference is a shorter auger bit. Good luck with the hunt and be sure to let us fellow sub-CUT owners know how it works out!

For moving stone and doing heavier work you can't beat some extra weight built in. The B-7800 is a lot of horsepower for the weight and is great for yard work The L-3400 as much as they are hard to find I think I'd be looking for that model.
