I don't know exactly how this system is set up. The input steering shaft could be slipping in the collar, but I suspect that the system is a full power system. The steering wheel then generates hydraulic pressure that then activates the valves to move the hydraulic cylinder. For some reason the activation valves pressure must be set too high. As the oil thins when warm the input can not provide enough pressure to activate the valves. One solution could be just to add a synthetic hydraulic oil which is less suseptable to thinning at temperature. The other fix would be to adjust the pressure needed to activate the valves. Not all system have an adjustment, but rely on pressure in the valve springs. In this case you would need to change out the springs.

I am seeking out advice on how to obtain a complete transmission fluid change for my JD 4600 with FEL. I am concerned that I may not be able to drain all the fluid from the system including the hydraulic rams by just pulling the plug, filter and filter screen. Does anyone have a method?

I was just reading the specs on the 2520 which retails for $15000. The 2305 retails for $10000. Both use the same loader. Wondering if the 2 extra hp and more powerful hydraulics are worth the extra $5000. I see the 2520 comes with MMM that you can drive over after unhooking. Wondering if 2520 with 72mmm would mow that much faster than 2305 with 62". For landscaping, would I gain much with the bigger tractor as far as loader work, and rear blade?

Congratulations! I love mine. Not cheap, but they are well built machines. One tip - if you can't get grease in the pivots with the grapple resting on the ground raise it up a little bit to relieve the weight on them.

I got mine from an advertiser here and I'm very happy with it...a solid unit made by Midwest with pitch and angle adjustments....I use 60" on a 20hp/17 PTO machine and as long is it covers your tracks thats probably all you need.
72" would be too big for my machine and not easy to work with...

While using my 48 BH on my 4310 I had a hydraulic hose burst on me. Upon replacing the hose, I assume i'll have to replace the lost fluid. According to the manual, the tranny and hydraulic fluid seem to be one in the same(?). Is this correct? Secondly, anyone know roughly the cost to replace a hose on a JD 48 Backhoe? Thanks.

I hear ya. In theory I think we would ALL like to think this is the case and we CAN make a difference............reality says otherwise. Been there.....done that.........got the T-shirt, sweat shirt, pants, jacket, and fancy tennis shoes................it doesn't make much if any difference.

Another thing or two you should know about your tractor is that units equipped with loaders have a problem with the loader frame mounting bolts vibrating loose where they attach to the motor housing. You should periodically check them and use "loctite".

One more potential problem is users that are aggressive with their loaders should be aware that the rear loader mounting brackets can twist/flex and cause the bell housing to crack. Cadet offers some small reenforcement brackets to remedy this. Woods made the loaders and the brackets and offers the brackets at about 1/2 price. I did mine before any problems ocurred. I also have a MMM which makes this bracket upgrade not fit properly. I had the guys in our shop whack off the brackets and weld them directly to the other mounting bracket. I feel better about this now since I had heard rumors about some problems for years! I love my tractor!!

To my knowledge Cadet never released a service bulletin on either of these issues.

Is your RTV serial # between 24462 and 34470?
If so, you have a speed control assembly that was used to feather the abrupt stop when you let off the pedal but this modification also made shifting more difficult. If your serial # is in that range, you may want to try the different assembly.

this appears to be the kit that I have After looking at the john deere web site parts page the kit didn't have a small plug that goes into the replacement body, so I called the dealership yesterday and told them what part to order. Hopefully Ican install the plug without taking everything apart.

Welcome to farmin', better than suckin up chemical/refinery/factory fumes, just a comment, no harm intended. Cabs are great for the elements, if rainin sit and have a brew, if snowin, stoke up the stove, sun shinin, reap hay or put on the carrhats and push snow. Peace out.

There was a series of John Deere tractors made in the 80's by Yanmar. Deere models were the 1050, 1250, 1450, & 1650, I think. Anyway, I'm considering buying a John Deere 1650, 62 HP, 4WD. Was the whole tractor made by Yanmar, or just the engine? I wonder if there is an equivalent Yanmar model tractor and if so, what make and model loader will fit it? Also is there any parts cross-reference between Yanmar and John Deere part nos? Thanks in advance, Hirsch<br>

First, I have never owned a GM product, having said that what you are experiencing is what millions of owners have said for years and years, past/present/and no doubt will well into the future, apparently just a normal thing with the rearend thinking of the GM engineering staff!
