I don't know what part of the country you are in but I have an IH 504 (50 hp) that I will be selling. I used it for mowing only (72" rear finish mower) for the past 6 years. Would like to know what it is worth but can't find much information about used units like this.

Nothing against the government as they are all the same, out of control in spending and unfortantely do to the sperate divisions they are virtually untouchable! We have the main road in town torn up and do to the state engineers errors it is over 1/2 a million in cost over runs. They are still reburying pipe that was put too deep and had to be dug out and raised as it was put in to low and they still haven't been able to lay the pavement.

If you look at my pictures you'll see the lights I installed on my 2210 for snowblowing. THere is a connector behind the seat under the rear fender skirting. It is wired to the panel light switch. I had trouble find the mate for it, even went to 4 John Deere dealers! I cut the tractor connector off and install a weather proof one. Much better!

You can run wires easily inside the ROPS. I drilled 2 holes at the top (see picture) and mounted the light inside the ROPS for protection from branches. They can swivel front to back but I use them pointed back all the time as the headlights work fine for me for blowing snow.

I put the wires inside a protective sleeve from the underside of the ROPS to the connector. It's the yellow covering you might see in some photos.

I use Amsoil in my Jeep Grand Cherokee - only because I got tired of changing oil in 3 cars so often and my trusted mechanic (that I purchase it from) highly recommended it and uses it also. My mechanic really is a good guy - the sort of person who gives you parts at cost when he thinks they are too expensive. So I took his word for it (also knowing he makes good money on it).

I had used Amsoil in my Honda Accord until the dealer did me a "favor" and gave me a free oil change without asking me. :)

It's the same old same old - this one's better than that, can anyone show me more than anecdotal hearsay. What I want is a refereed journal article with some actual DATA! If they are so good (or so bad) why aren't here datasets floating aroung out there.

I decided to go for it so I turned the pressure adjusting screw 1/2 turn in and voila I have the power I need. It is not alot more power, but enough to lift the rear of the tractor to get it un-stuck, if that were to happen.
I took a chance and did it blind(without a guage)---let's hope i didn't blow it.

Dennis as you show I don't think it is the site, although I am a little confused. I recently got a high speed link at home and have been working out the network etc. I recently purchased a new Athlon and was working on it. It was about 5 second page time until I took the multiple firewalls off. The old Athlon 700 mHz (clock at 1 G) one of the rare birds that slipped through, is actually running faster than the new one on CTB, but was not until I added some memory yesterday. I have the same fire wall and antivirus on both systems but different spywares. The new one has Symantics and the old has Lavasoft and Spyware Blaster.

It would be much appreciated if some of you folks would post your engine oil pressure for the 3110. I am going to install a pressure gage on my tractor and would like to know what the norm would be for a cold engine and after a complete warmup and working pressure. Also plese let me know your pressure at idle (800 RPM) and working RPMs. Thanks for you help.

I have a similar case on a L4310 whereby the glowplug light indicator on the dash sporatically comes back on after the tractor is started. It eventually stays out after the engine warms up. Is this normal??

I think that when comparing two similar tractors, more HP is always better, however you are comparing two different tractors. It is surely true that the B will handle a three acre field with ease. I have an L3400 HST and love it. However, I am sure that the B would be more manueverable. It seems that size and manuverability are bigger issues here than HP. Decisions, decisions...

I am looking for some advice on a grapple bucket for my L3400. Is it a widely useful attachment? Also, how does it attach to the loader arms and how do you hook up the hydraulics? Also, who makes the best one and how much damage might this do to my wallet? Any info would be appreciated.

I have an 84" rear discharge finish mower that I bought with my JD 3320...about the same size as your TC33 I believe. Our lawn has some rolling hills, but is graded pretty well. I've always mowed with the deck high because we don't water the lawn, and it seems to get through the summer without turning as brown better that way. So it doesn't scalp at our place, but certainly could on the wrong lawn, or if you like cutting it short. If you're using a 72" now, maybe that won't be a problem. It's nice having the extra width to get closer to things. The tractor has no problem running it in normal grass. It mows foot long stuff without much trouble. Mine is the Frontier, built by Woods.

The JD 750 I had tore up on side of the axel but I don't know what happened as it was the first owner. I only know that the new parts were expensive and this was one of the reasons he decided to sell it.
The expense may be the reason he has repaired it rather than purchasing a new unit. I suspect it would be difficult to repair. Likely Yanmar does the initial welding hot before they machine the spindle.

I guess I think of this as a pennies on the dollar proposition like the worst run charities. Why has the rebuild cost been increased so much? How many of the consulting and contractors are just brass plate fronts? I am not even convinced Halliburton isn't. It certainly has its share of exCIA and government types. It is interesting thought to have a political party talk free enterprise and then funnel billions into a government front.

I suspected as much. An Iron Horse is just a Jinma of another color. As as become very VERY evident over the last few year, the very VERY most important factor influencing Jinma owner satisfaction - is the quality of the (out of the crate) assembly AND service after sale. Both of these are 100% dealer/seller related. The tractors themselves are basically all the same.
