Thanks Lowafun, after sale dealer service is my top priority; however, ride comfort is also high on my list as I have knee problems. Our local Kubota Dealer has a 2002 JD 790 (w/FEL) for sale with 126 hours for $13,000. That seems like very low hrs and a decent price, makes me wonder if that year and model had problems. Still, I think I will go new so I get the latest in ride comfort.

Well it happens when they are using a blower hooked to the pto,Knowing them it's running at full throttle,he ran it for 4 hrs. before it started to act up. when I changed the fuel filter I noticed a lot of black debri in the filter,it was just changed 1 month earlier,i did drain the tank and it was clean,I took it out,and it ran fine but not that long of time or that high rpm,should i try a good injector cleaner! I hope this info helps thanks again

I'm not familiar with the engine or fuel system but many pumps will put raw fuel into the base from a drive shaft seal leak.

For the price difference you can definitely have the hydraulics for the loader installed. Everytime someone moves a tractor someone will make money. Massy doen't build those tractors but they will make money just like the company that builds them. Kubota builds their own as well as sells them to dealers. This most often means more for less.

I did look at Havers, but got the best prices and customer service at Leigh Valley Ag, in Allentown, PA. They actually just took delivery of a 2210 last week, though I haven't asked them about the replacement. I tried to take Dennis' advice, but couldn't find the Kubota dealer in Clinton...I'll have to have another try next week. Though, I'm pretty well sold on the JD.

My #9 photo shows a home made set that is installed LOOSE so the chains will move on the tires.

I've only been challenged a couple of times not to back up any of the drives I do and I do 1 very steep one for the neighbor.

There is a lot of steel in this set.

I have had a backhoe on my compact tractor for years. I also have a front end loader. When I take the backhoe off of the tractor, the rear end can feel light as the backhoe provides adequate ballast to offset the loads in the FEL. A similar thing happens if the backhoe is used without the FEL but the front end gets light. It comes down to a matter of weight balancing on the tractor.

When I use the backhoe I pretty much lift the tractor off the ground with the FEL and backhoe stabilizers. I never use the backhoe without the FEL. My backhoe is a frame mounted unit. It is quite powerful and will move the anchored tractor around when I am in tough digging.

I have been fighting a colony of pack rats on my property. There is no joke or implication here, this is a real problem. More precisely the rodents are known as White Throated Woodrats. These are incredibly destructive animals. They have nested in my truck which is parked outside. I also have a nest of them in an old race car. I have also found them in my tractor. These are probably also the same rodents that have chewed through landscape lighting wires and other electrical wiring. <br>

I have set a couple of mechanical traps and they have not caught any so far. I built up a contraption out of PVC pipe with internal electrodes that has killed a couple of them. The PVC pipe works by turning on the power to an electric fence power supply when they are in there. That seems to be quite effective at killing them. I have been baiting these traps with dry dog food strung onto fine stainless steel wire. They trigger the trap when they tug on the kibble. <br>

An additional problem is that these varmits can be a vector for Bubonic Plague and Hantavirus in my area. There are no reported cases coming out of my locality, but this is a serious problem with serious consequences. I am going to have to wear a respirator and disposable coveralls when I take the nest out of the race car. I have to spray for fleas and other biting bugs that can carry the Plague. <br>

Has anyone else on the board dealt with these animals before? What brought this to mind is the other thread about the hornets. I have been trying to kill fleas and rodents at the same time in two or more places.

The mixing of chemicals is a good idea, just how do I get it in the hole from , oh.. say 20 feet? The hose trick is still at there entrance, maybe I can pour one into one section of hose and the other into anouther section of this hose. connect the two sections and turn on the water at the third sectoin. This mill force it all into the hole from a safe distance, although it will be diluted a bit it will still be nasty?
Here is the update. Last night I ran a water hose in the nest hole for about an hour. Today when I got home from work I walked out there and saw next to no activity for well over 3 minuits. I decided to flood em again and low and behold, I walk back out there and I see many hornets flying around very angrily! (many meaning about 6 or 7 not a few hundred)_. Was wondering if I am really knocking them down a bit with the combo of sprays and water? I had decided to just flood em every day for a week. I figure sooner or later they are either going to drown,leave for dryer ground or sit in the weeds for the rat that turns on the water every day!
We will see tomaroo, if I see activity then I will try mixing the chemicals. This is more fun than spending $150 and getting it done right away!

Precisely the reason I refused to have that automatic transfer case mom clever knob on my dash. I too would rather have direct linkage between my hand and the mechanism I want operated. Unfortunately even the fuel pedal is no longer connected to anything, I do not think the auto tranny shifter is even connected anymore, just like the JD 4310,4410 etc with the hydro pedals. Just electronics, the first most likely thing to fail. I don't really like the vacuum system either. AMC used it on the Eagle cars in the 80s and the lines could fall off sometimes. Don't they make a kit to change the cad to manual cable pull. I know chevy was so bad someone came out with a kit for them. I have lived with lock outs for a long time, 4 dodges, 1 toyota, the Fuso, it has always been a pain. I hate pulling out stopping on the side of the road and unlocking or vice versa. I always worried my chevys and amc and mitsu montero would fail me but they never did in that area. Surprised me on the chevys but not the others.

I have a lot of colichi where I live and I break it up with a sub-soiler before working on it with the loader. But, I can go through it with my backhoe. With the hoe, it breaks up into big rock-like chunks. With the loader, it is hard to get a bite in colichi but the sub-soiler disturbs the layers and the bucket will work.

I cannot find anything in front of the radiator.It dose look as though there is a line goining into the radiator it self. The radiator is clean.the line that goes into the radiator seems not to contain any fluid as I can pinch it shut easily with two fingers.??? thanks every one for the info chasing this problem down .Since I hurt my back I havnt been able to do any thing but gather info on this and do some visual observation.

I guess the question that sticks in my mind is why do you want to use this fluid for just 8 hours and then change it? Are you trying to flush out the system? In that case, I would suggest buying the Walmart Tractor Transmission/Hydraulic fluid. It is made by a subsidiary of Shell oil and it is good oil. MUCH cheaper than Hygard and still meets the J20C requirement.
