Traded a 2210 for the 4115. Very disappointed. 46 backhoe lt cylinder leaks all the way down after 2 mins w/engine running. Boom very jerky and will pulsate down occasionally with no lever inputs. Put 3 cinder blocks in the bucket and lost power steering while stationary. Hyd Dump Pack brackets installed backwards, busted 2 arms (Manual shows the brackets to be installed backwards. Turned brackets around and everything works fine). The JD dealer tells me everything is okay. (They don't have the manual for the 46 hoe yet. So they were using the specs from a 47 hoe) ALso, you need to remove MMM, mower lift arms and 3 pt arms to install backhoe. Very tedious and time consuming. Local JD rep is supposed to visit, but he is slow to respond to the dealer's requests. JD support is terrible.

Hello Ladies and Gents, please, I need some advice on buying a tractor. Here�s my situation: I recently purchased 23 acres, 5 acres are covered in big hardwoods which I plan on leaving alone, 2 acres are already cleared for a home site, that leaves 16 acres covered in very thick brush and small pines about ten feet high, which I want to clear. Also, I have about 1,400 feet of a private circular drive I have to maintain. In addition, I have to help two other property owners maintain a 2,000 foot private road that leads off the County Road. I will be maintaining a substance garden/farm on this property. My neighbors own New Holland tractors because there is a dealer in the area; however, we also have a Kubota and Mahindra dealer in the area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem and I eventually gave up and moved. My problems started when I built my shop/RV garage on my property where the neighbors used to park. It seriously inconvenienced them and they would make up all sorts of charges and present them to the zoning enforcement officer. On one occasion, the zoning officer came by and asked me to take down my amateur radio antenna that had been up for more than a year. We came to an understanding and I modified it to suit the zoning laws, but the problems never ended. <br>

My wife and I finally agreed that it was not worth the hassle to pay legal fees to fight with "neighbors" that you don't want to be around. The best thing that you can expect if you win your continued dispute is that you get to live next to a jerk that you don't like. I spent thousands of dollars on lawyers and other things to protect myself including fences and video surveilance. I even had a private detective investigate the neighbor to make sure that they were unlikely to shoot me in the back when I was outside working. (They really did act that nutty and out of touch with reality.) <br>

And, when the neighbor decided to break out the windows of the shop and the tracks in the snow led directly to their house, the local police would not even talk to them about it. They were apparently friends with someone in the local government. When I had a problem with another neighbor not cleaning up after their horse on a 1 acre lot and allow manure to run off of their property into the street and my front lawn, the authorities would not even come out to take a look. Top that off with several events of garbage and used motor oil thrown over your fence and you just want to make them pay. <br>

It all worked out, however. I moved from a one acre to a ten acre place. I rebuilt my amateur radio antenna and none of my neighbors even cared since none of them are closer than 200 yds. I am now working on building a new shop for my machine tools. <br>

It was tough to move, but I am happier. In the long run, I think that it might be healthier than living with the continual petty conflict. <br>

Every now and then I think to myself that I should drive over to the old neighborhood and water the jerks's plants with Roundup, but that feeling passes quickly. It is just not worth the effort and as others have mentioned, I would be stooping to their level. If there is any such thing as karma, then they will be continually unhappy with pretty much anything that happens around them and that is just fine with me since I am not part of their world.

Since the nest seems to be in an underground tunnel system, you could also try piping the exhaust from a small gasoline motor into one of the holes. It certainly works with the gophers.

I think that the insect bomb idea might work also.

For groundhog tunnels, we would put in gasoline and wait for the fumes to penetrate before lighting it. You would see flames shoot out of every entrance and the problem was solved. Try to pick an entrance that is upwind of the main tunnel area.

Even after the rain showers, I'm still having a heck of a time digging. It grabs with the center drill part but when the teeth on either side made contact, it just goes nowhere. I tried sharpening the teeth but maybe I didn't do it right? Is there somewhere online I can get info about what angle auger teeth should be?

My dealer (Kubota) called today to say the downpressure kit I ordered came in. I double-checked with him asking if he's sure that's all I needed. Salesman: "Duh, I dunno." He guessed if I really needed to know he could ask someone and call me right back. Hours later he calls back. I need all sorts of parts (at over $500) to hook to the $400 downpressure kit. I did tell him when I ordered the kit it was for the BX23 which I bought new from them. It shoudn't be such a mystery what things are needed to make it work with their tractor. ((annoyed))

Asked about replacement teeth for this auger (bought it from them, too). They only sell "Bobcat (brand) teeth" and they had no idea if they'd fit or what my teeth looked like.

I wish I could just order these things online without having to deal with the idiot local dealer. The reason for buying local was supposed to be service & expertise, and I am now very disappointed.

Now what do I do? Do I pay the $900+ and hope they didn't forget to include some other parts? (price didn't include installation)

Are we sure it'll solve my problem? $900 is alot of money to me. Isn't there some other way I could add a little weight to the end of the digger for the same result?

Should I try a smaller diameter auger (current one is 12")?

Or where can I get a sharper auger designed for dry clay?

Where do I get new Land Pride auger teeth if my dealer is also the local LP dealer and won't order them?

my front tires are wore more than the rear tires but not bad. I'm going to check the pressure when I get home and let you knoe the results tommorrow.

I purchased the heavy duty bucket when I bought my 33D and it had the removable cutting edge. I never really used the bucket much without a tootbar on it as digging with only the cutting edge just didn't get it for me.

If your grounds are very uneven the 7510 will give you much more ground clearance and more Lifting power on the loader and 3 point hitch. Yes the loader has a easy system for removal. As for price yes you will pay more for the larger tractor with Loader/BH but you will get more.

Hey Guys, I'm shopping for one of these tractors.<br>
My yard is quite small compared to all yours (1/2 acre+) but in very rough shape (uneven/rocky/lots of stumps, etc.) and I want to clean it up and plant some trees.<br>
Also, after this work I'd like to pick up some work on the side doing residential yard work (fences/tree planting/mowing, etc) because by then I'll know how to use the tractor pretty well.<br>
I'm pretty sure you all will recommend the BX23 but would like to hear it from you experts anyway.<br>
Do you think I will ever encounter a residential job the BX23 won't be able to handle but the B7510 will?<br>
Does the smaller size of the BX23 offer a huge advantage over the B7510 when it comes to residential work?<br>

Thanks for the advice on the tach and hour meter. The cable did work its way loose. I reconnected and they work now.

As far as the engine shut off, both the timing relay and the solenoid where bad. I replace both and everything functions correctly now. I am guess the timing relay went first and then the solenoid. Expensive parts, relay was $60 and solenoid was $70.

Hi all, this is my first time posting. I was wondering how much anyone would be willing to pay for a 1992 Kubota B2150 with 1,402 hours and a small compression problem (perhaps related to a bad injector?). I am just gaging how much it is worth, thanks!

A lot of the guys that plow around here have had issues with the front end in their Dodges too, both gas and diesel trucks.

There isn't a lot of Dodges that work hard for a living around here to start with though so it could just be that the few that have them are a little harder on trucks than the rest of the world.

Hey grinder, it's still July. But here it is from last years experiment.

4' x 8' 3/4" rigid insulation froze solid to the ground. Consulted with a friend of mine would does industrial foundation and flat work for a living. He says the experiment needs to be re-run with a larger ground cover. He pointed out that the soil retails a good deal of heat, and looses it slowly as the surface starts to freeze. Our frost line is around 42", so if the insulation covers a large enough area, and is designed to retain enough heat, it is possible to slow the freeze penetration. He doubts we can keep it from freezing all winter, although it is theoreticaly possible due to the heat source of the un-frozen earth at 42".

I'm willing to try again, Any ideas what we want to try to keep from freezing this year? My kids get a kick out of this stuff. My wife wonders why she married an engineer.

I know what you're describing with the BB60 drive shaft.

I put a big wrench through the u-Joint so that I can push the shaft onto the PTO with my thumbs while I pull the collar back with my fingers. Tokk me a very frustrating 45 minutes to come up with that approach.

That's a reasonable price for a B3030, but you could probably get a mid-mount mower for that price instead of the rear mower. The L3130 requires an mid-PTO upgrade to use a mid-mount mower, but with its weight, and larger size, an l3130 is not suited for that sort of mowing anyway.

The L3130 is certainly more tractor, but with a few less conveniences and comforts. Its weight makes it too big for some mowing chores, and it was too tall for my garage (even with the folding ROPS (B3030 just fits). I worried that the L3130 would be too intimidating for my wife. I loved it, she loves the B3030, and particularly the HST. I like the HST when bush-hogging in tight situations, and that would have added to the price.

I have a massive ground hornets nest in my back yard. They took up residence in an old gofer hole (trail system)LOL. I would not worry too much because it is in theback of the back yard but I have an ole crippled up dog that my wife loves way more than me, and I am affraid she will mess with the area and be attacked as fall comes and they get more aggressive. Since I have NOT had to cut the grass for over a month and a half (NO RAIN) until this week, I have not noticed this and they have had the opportunity to thrive WAY too long. I can count 10-15 entering in less than 25 seconds and many leaving during the same time. This went on for more than a half hour as I sat and watched the other day. Although it was almost 100 deg. that day and they may of been more active. The next day I still counted almost as many. I would think this could be a very very large nest. While it was pouring rain out 2 days agao, I went out and took a look. They STILL were flying in and out non stop even in the rain! I sprayed a whole can of wasp killer Ortho) the kind that foams, last night. Did next to nothing! Still in and out today. The hole is on the edge (to almost under) of a bush so lighting this bad boy on fire could be disaterous (BIG BUSH)!!! LOL.<br>
Any suggestions? My bride suggested a professional? My pride wont let me do this at this point yet! If my dog gets it tomaroo I will pay for a long time si I better atleast look like I am trying something?<br>

If the engine is fine other than idle and not missing at idle, bump the idle up just alittle and it will smooth out some spepcaily on the bx1500.

I use my tractor for about the same things you talk about. I went with a 4310. 30 Hp was my minimum power range for what I needed the tractor to do. Mow in summer, move some dirt and rock, then snow in winter.

I use the loader and a 6 ft rear blade in winter to move snow. My rear blade is curved so it can dig in. As such, I shorten my top link as much as possible so the blade won't dig that much and kick the gravel into the yard. It also lessens the risk of it catching on something and doing damage to the tractor, me or both.

I also use the blade in summer for working over the gravel in the main drive. The top area between shop and garage is done with a box blade since I'm moving much more rock.

Ideally, I'd concrete the drive and go to a snow blower. That all costs money. I used the loader for the drifts and to pile up the snow. I'm lucky that I live on a hill so the drive itself is usually blown clean or lesser depth so the blade (driving forwards) does just fine. I don't think the blade would work going forward if the snow was deeper than 12" - 15".

Just my opinion. A front blade would probably be better execpt for my gravel problem.
