i need some help. we have a case 1175 tractor that we pull with.<br>

my dad is looking for a bosch fuel pump for it.<br>
<br>
i havent the slightest idea of where to find any info on it.<br>
<br>
so if anyone could give me any links or any help at all, id appreciate it.

A more accurate question would be:

Do I "need" ballast for doing light duty work with a 25HP tractor? I'll be using a loader, box scraper and 60" finishing mower.

My local dealer wanted over $5000.00 more for the exact same setup so I think that the 5 grand is worth the risk of the local dealer not treating me very well. I would tend to conclude from the attempted fleecing that the dealer is not a very stand up kind of business anyways. Besides with the 5 grand I bought a backhoe so if the dealer would have been reasonable he could have gotten all my money instead of just getting my disdain.

Glad to hear the "repair" worked for you.

If there is any further problems, this would be a warranty issue that "should" not cost you anything.

Make sure to check the tranny dipstick (on the back of the tractor behind and below the seat) so that you haven't run low on fluid. if you are low, that sump comes filled with "Kubota Super-UDT" from the factory, and should be refilled only with the same.

I think Vince has the right idea. Either that or a piece of debris jammed under one of the brake linkages. Given your description of the right wheel rut it does sound like two separate problems. Your first problem clearly seems to be lack of sufficient ballast.

Metal buildings can be configured pretty much any way you want them---like they say "it's only money". Check out FBi buildings. They have an assortment of buildings, most or all of which are not "metal" buildings. They have some innovative designs and are the builders also. Check out their concrete sub-posts. Metal buildings cost about 1/3 to 1/2 more than wood and metal but the tax incentives are there for all metal.

I also abuse the snot out of my loader. Corner loads, unbalanced loads, push on old rotted stumps, push large logs in woods, back hoe required for ballast on many loads, I cannot see any tweaks or cracks in any components or welds. Can not count the times the rear wheels lift.

Did you buy yours new?

The tilt steering on these tractors is DEFINITELY el cheapo and a REALLY laughable and crappy design. Dust and dirt gets in the release mechanism and makes it difficult to release and adjust, not to mention the flimsy design and construction.

Scam!!!

Tell him you'll only do it if his agent brings the full amount by in CASH (which of course he won't do).

He'll send you what *looks* like a certified check. You'll deposit it, the money won't go through, and by then the tractor will be picked up and disappeared.

This is a commons scam they've been pulling for high-dollar items, from tractors to horses to cars.

I have pulled lots of logs with my JD 4310 using a flat drawbar with chainhooks between the two lift arms of the 3ph. I wrap a chain around the end of the log, attach the chain ends to the chain hooks, lift it just a few inches off the ground, and skid it right out. I have been able to skid some very large logs without much trouble. However, I move very slowly and pay close attention to the tractor and log, because of the possibility of problems as stated in this thread. Be careful.

I don't know where you are tapping exactly and that might help to answer your question. In the top of the case is a piston simular to a car engine that might be worn enough to get stuck or you might just have a sticky valve. To install lighter oil will only find more leaks for you then you had before. The system is designed for gear oil and I'd stick with it.

As far as what implements do what, visit your dealer you most likely will be dealing with (used or new---their brand[s] or not). Talk to the Sales Manager. Be up front and tell him what is on your mind: not a lot of money, you like their products, you want a good working relationship, etc.---and like I tell the ladies "what I lack in experience I more than make up in interest!" ha ha ha.<br>

Most likely they will respect you for this because you are being honest and trying not to waste their time and resources, and you are a potential customer i.e., "dollars." <br>

Ask if you could rent a box scraper, a tractor, a landscape rake, and a scraper blade for the weekend. Make sure they know you are not out to make a few bucks... errr...Canadian Loonies doing work down the street with THEIR equipment. No truck or trailer? Maybe they will deliver, and might even throw in a salesman to show you how to use them if they feel you are genuine and worthy of their attention---not just looking for a freebie. If they don't necessarily have a rental fleet, get them to demonstrate how to use an implement in the parking lot. <br>

I rented a big skid steer from my dealer for over a month for a job I had (would have been a $3000 rental). When it came time to bring it back they discounted the rental to $1700 and the owner ended up giving me the rental for free---PLUS knocked off $6,800 of the price of a new one. And now I'm buying my second one.
