I'm on the same boat, don't know how I would make if my local dealer was not there to keep me going. Had a leaking oil seal last week, turned out to have been causded by a bad bearing. Yep they have a two week backlog too, machine was looked at, parts ordered overnight and I was working it the next afternoon. Support locl dealers and they will support you.

I love the TC33, but the fuses are getting old. That above was back in LAST August. I DID put in a 30a main. Worked till this Feb. (10 below !!). It blew the 30 amp once -- then was MAYBE while the glow plugs were on. Then 3-4 days ago it wouldn't start, different symptoms -- as if I had the PTO in gear or left it in gear. THIS time it was the 15a fuse (from the factory as a 15 .. but the book says it's to be a 10a) in the #5 slot on the right side. Replacing it was all it took. I've started it 6-8 times in the last 2-3 days.

NOTE .. the 1st manual they gave me on the thing WAS wrong. it was "3/02" down in the left corner of the cover. The schematics were wrong (and the "main fuse") as well as the fuse block info on page 3-23.

So, WHY does the "Boomer" blow fuses? (since we have 12 acre, I'm gonna put some in the tool box and save a long walk some day !)

Splitting the tractor is not much different than splitting an automobile engine from it's transmission. Remember that most CUTs don't have frames, the engine+transmission is a stressed member and IS the frame.

CUT is Compact Utility Tractor. All of them are imported or at least major parts are imported and assembled here. Even the big names like JD, NH, Massey Ferguson, Case, etc.

City boy question: TZ25DA...NH doesn't show a box blade on their web site as an available 3PH option. What's a good light duty box blade for use with this tractor? Ill just be using it to sculpt, over time. I'm turning my property from deeply rutted cattle paths to lush rolling hills...at least that's the excuse to buy one. Im also doing my own dirt work for a an aircraft hangar. Thanks.

"Betsy" is a 1951 8N (side-mount distributor). The 3-point USED TO be just fine ... then would "get wierd" at times. Low lift power / all up (with little control) or all down, but if I "tapped" (OK, hammered) on the case, it would free up. I suspect something "sticks" ?? I'm gonna change hyd oil .. it's got "gear oil 80-90" as per specs, but I've heard other opinions (PTO shaft does leak a bit -- I'd hate to go too light). It used to have to be above 30 degrees for the Hydraulic to work .. cold = thick. (but I got a new NH TC-33 a couple years ago, so Betsy just does light duty now .. and the TC-33 does the plowing and mowing) <br>
In short, what's with the 8N's 3 point? JDL

Run a Google search on steel buildings. I bought my 24X36 from ARCO...very satisfied. I put right at $11K init turnkey. Due to need for lots of cement, etc. to raise the lot to keep away from our floodable creek, I had more than another 11K in concrete work, again all contracted. All I've done is the wiring.

I don't know that mower but my reasoning would be to turn the bolt the same way the blade turns when it is rotating (cutting grass)to loosen the bolt. My thinking would be that if the blade hit anything while running it should tighten the bolt or you would loose the blade when you hit something. NOTE this logic only applys on the type of blades with one bolt thru the middle of them like on my kingcutter finish mower. Not the brush hog type cutters.

Not familiar with the 2920, you think it could be a 2940? The 2940 is a 25 hp 4wd, the most common equivalent is the Jinma JM254. The same Agracat in 2wd was the 2910, which is the same as a JM250 (less common)

The tilt mechanism on the 10 series is a known trouble spot. I had to have the one on my 4310 fixed at less than 100 hours. The dealer reworked it and it's been fine since. Not sure if there's a JD sanctioned repair or if they rolled their own though.

My backhoe does this when the hydraulic fluid is low and the pump is cavitating (having the loader's cylinders fully extended takes more fluid volume than when they are retracted). The intermittentness may be caused by the sloshing action of the fluid in the reservoir when you come to a stop to load.<br>

If this is the case, it only takes one time for a second to burn up a pump (yup, don't ask).

I put the 460 in the wrong place. They are great engines and actually better on gas than the 351's. That would be my first choice, but they are also becoming hard to find. Really the only ford engine I would never ever buy or even take as a gift would be the 351m, other wise known as the 400.

Mike, most any farm equipment dealer has a catalog full of replacment seats for most any model tractor. Sometimes they want your old pan sometimes not. Best of luck. Frank.

I haul in PA and MD all the time and have been through many DOT check points. any thing <8,000# two 3/8 chains and two binders fixed at 4 opposite points on the transporting unit to a non moving (meaning fel or implement so they say?) point of the unit. Fixed to the vehicle to the vehicle with the least amount of distance possible between points of contact. Meaning they don't want to see 8' of chain bouncing in the wind. Strap should not be used to push pull tie down like chains.

Weird question but could a wheeled log skidder (like the kind used for horse-drawn logging) work with a tractor?

I've seen pairs of draft horses pull amazingly large logs with the help of these wheeled devices.
