Allot of farmers are still using their JD's from the 60's and have them out in the fields almost everyday. However, they usually don't have them as primary units. <br>

My point is when maintained they can last a long, long time. It sounds like you realize that a slightly smaller, shorter tractor maneuvers easier. Likewise, I'm not sure if Deere has a good sales promotion going on now with attractive interest rates. Out of season is generally a better time to get the best deals with rebates and 0%.<br>

Chances are, going new will be the best alternative if you are willing to spend a little more but getting a hoe with it may be easier. In years to come if your needs change, it will be easier to sell it. Suggest getting it plumbed at the rear right away even if you don't purchase a hoe immediately.<br>

Don't underestimate the importance of manuverability. If you plan to use a CUT for finish mowing, a mid mount mower is essential mowing in tight areas and around obstacles. Rear finish mowers have a lot of tail-swing and are more suited to large open areas. If you plan to bush-hog your trails and 4 acres of field, you might be better off skipping the MMM and getting a rider or used zero-turn instead for the same $$$.

Yes the same, I assume they traded it in, as this is
at a dealer. I think we may go new for the warranty.
The price is not that much more and I have to have
something that will start well in the winter as I am
putting out lg round bales weekly.
Thats what I thought hardly broken in at 1000 hrs and
a new clutch already. Dealer said that being city owned the people that drive
them don't own them so there you go. Really seemed to be in good shape though.

What ever type you end up with see if a set of Gator blades will work on it. See if you can get the dealer to throw them in too. I have used Gator blades and they really do perform well in my opinion.

Firewood processors are extremely expensive for what you get--I looked at an entry-level, bare-bones one for about $15K. Takes a lotta wood to make up the cost! Find some big, strong high school kids and tell them they should PAY YOU for getting a work out! If you put it that way to 'em, getting paid for the work is like getting paid to go the gym!

I know nothing of Kubotas, but do own a 2003 TC33D 4x4 hydro with Super Steer and R-4 tires. The seat is spring-suspended for a decent ride, plenty of power (I pulled my fully-loaded 5yd dump trailer with it in 2nd range high with no problems---total weight was around 16,000 lbs.), has cruise control, selectable/lockable 4x4, steering wheel tilts and telescopes. Don't like the cutting brakes on the right-hand side though--makes the left-hand brake useless. Warranty was decent: 2yrs "bumper-to-lower link" (hahaha) and 3yrs drivetrain only. No major problems. I run a 5' brush hog, 6' box scraper, or a 6' power box rake (Harley rake) with it all the time commercially. It's a good size and easily trailered.

A Toyota salesman told me last year that Toyota was going to start selling full size trucks here this year. Oh well, guess you can't believe a salesman, imagine that. ;^) With all these horror stories, I'm holding on to my '92 pickup until they do.

Forks off the front of the bucket definitely change the ratings of the loader. The load out in front of the bucket moves the center of gravity farthur forward than a load in the bucket, making the tractor much more prone to nose tipping.

Like anything else, common sense must prevail. If the loader is rated at 660 lbs prperly ballasted, you may only want to pick 300 on the forks. The tactor will let you know if you have aq problem.

The dealer is probably doing the smart thing not selling them to you. Too many lawyers in this country.

Over the years I have come to realize that when somebody is running someone else down it usually for just one reason, they don't have any good things to say about themselves or their product.

When a salesman starts running down their competition is when the sales pitch, and my time for them ends. Period.

Have you test drove both of these yet? If not, that's what I would encourage you to do. As for the lack of position control, as the last poster alluded to, it only makes going back to the same exact position more difficult.

I think you are talking about "position control", this is a lever that instead of just up down movement on the 3 PH, you can move the lever to where you want it and the hitch goes there. I do not know if the GC has that, most sub compacts do not.

If you are driving through heavy snows the Ag's should work fine.

If you are pushing a plow or a blower and running the tires on the cleared path behind the plow, there are better choices.

Does anyone know anything about Atlas box blades? I found these at a dealer in southern Kentucky called Sweet Farm Equipment. The 48" weighs 300 pounds and sells for $300.<br>

The weight is inline with others like Landpride, Grizzly, and Rhino for the same size box. The price is considerably lower, Landpride's 48" is $640. <br>
