I think you are talking about "position control", this is a lever that instead of just up down movement on the 3 PH, you can move the lever to where you want it and the hitch goes there. I do not know if the GC has that, most sub compacts do not.

If you are driving through heavy snows the Ag's should work fine.

If you are pushing a plow or a blower and running the tires on the cleared path behind the plow, there are better choices.

What are they advantages to a mid-mount mower, only maneuverability? Easier to store? Anything else?

Thanks to your feedback, I'm narrowing my decision to the B7800 and the B3030. Has anyone experienced a noticeable difference with the 4 cyl. engine?

I have a lead on a 95 5400 with cab and 1000 hours<br>
I am not sure of the hp but has 4wd it was city owned<br>
so has some dents and dings does come with a 540 loader.<br>
Tires are 50% asking 19500 is this a good reliable model<br>
easy to start in the winter model?<br>
Do these tractors have issues I should ck out before I buy.<br>

The local hotels are full of the sales people and out of town visitors for the farm days.. I'm two hours east and the road is full by about 8 in the morning from people further east into Vermont, Conn, Maine and Mass. Syracuse is about an hour east and the pressure isn't as high for the rooms. Rochester is just over thirty minutes west and might give some other options.

Does anyone know anything about Atlas box blades? I found these at a dealer in southern Kentucky called Sweet Farm Equipment. The 48" weighs 300 pounds and sells for $300.<br>

The weight is inline with others like Landpride, Grizzly, and Rhino for the same size box. The price is considerably lower, Landpride's 48" is $640. <br>

denwood -- Toyota does make diesels, and they are great. So far, it appears that they choose to market them in their non-US markets. The absolutely best vehicle that I have ever had was our 2002 Toyota Landcruiser GXL Turbo Diesel in Australia prior to relocating to the US late last year (2004). I really did look into bringing back, having it converted to left-hand drive, and all. It's just that Toyota-US does not support it and I was worried about service in the long-run. There's a picture of it in my pictures, the 3rd one. That particular vehicle replaced a 1998 Toyota Landcruiser GXL with the 6 cyl petrol engine (4500cc) which replaced a 1993 model (80 series, again with a 4500cc petrol engine). The 4200cc turbo diesel was stronger, far quieter and smoother; even my wife noticed the difference. The diesel also got just about twice the range per liter of fuel when compared to the petrol engine. I could push to 800 km on 150 liters of diesel (95 ltr main and 45 ltr sub tanks) on bitumen (pavement) compared to about 500 or so with the petrol. In-town driving was to fill-up every 2 weeks with the diesel when compared to every week with the petrol, and the price of diesel and petrol was essentially the same. Never was there even the hint of a leak; the only "wet looking dust" that I saw was around the oil drain following a service. There was also larger displacement diesels there from Mitsubishi, Hino, Volvo, and others. When outside of the metropolitan areas or even the town there, diesel-engined vehicles seemed to be those that were preferred. In the larger vehicles, those that would be a step up in size from the small "utes" (utility) or pickups, diesel was about the only ones that one saw. All that I can figure out so far is the market here in the US continues the reliance on gas, or petrol, shunning diesel; sort of a tradition. I really wanted another diesel when returning back here late last year, but settled for another gas-engined Toyota since I could not find anything that I really "fell in love with." And I did look at Ford, GM, and a few others. Although this did not address the thread of the forum, it was a parallel thought to it.

I've narrowed my tractor search to a New Holland TC33/Case DX33, but I'm having trouble deciding which finishing mower to purchase. I've looked at the Woods RD7200, Rhino FM72A, and the Bush Hog RMTH-72. I'll be mowing around 5 acres of lawn as well as 2 acres of orchard grass pasture (2-3 times a season for the pasture). Each dealer is pushing their particular brand...any suggesstions?<br>
One dealer told me the blade tip speed on the Rhino puts it above the rest. Another said the heavy duty build of the Woods makes it better. Any help with those of you that have experience with any of these models would be greatly appreciated.<br>

No, the salesman quoted this on a standard machine with standard tires. He has not found it yet and does not have it on the lot. If he does find one with other options, he said he would discount them the same as the unit itself or about 17%.

I know that a cab on a 43 hp tractor is probably not something you come across all the time and this may be why he is having a problem finding it. I want the cab as it was 100 F and about 50% humidity in centerville, tx. I dont really need much more hp because I intend to use it only to mow.

The LX5 is a good light duty rotary cutter, but before I would spent that much money on light duty cutter, I think I would buy the Rural King Farm Star standard duty rotary cutter or the Tractor Supply Center King Kutter standard duty cutter. Rural King had the 5' Farm Star rotary cutter on sale right for $529 last week. Tractor Supply Center King Kutter 5' rotary cutter costs $599.

I have not heard of boom damage from tracks at all. I suppose you could double up the strips if you got longer rivets.

I am interesting in a Curtis Cab for a 4310 tractor........has anyone seen one of these installed on a 4000 series tractor? I understand it will also fit the new 3320 and so on tractors. Some cab companies have started selling a 5000 BTU 12 volt Air Conditioner for their cabs. I think they got the idea from the ones installed on golf carts........i don't feel that this unit would work very well...please give me your thoughts.<br>

I think the basic answer to your question is: a large L-series will do the job, but you'd probably be happier with an M-series. The MX5000 is an excellent value assuming you can do without some of the bells and whistles. An open station M4900 or M5700 can also be had for a reasonable price.
