is it a risk to the glow lights or is it a problem with the light just coming on or is the glow plugs actually on - how do you tell

Beagle, there are lots of gorgeous campgrounds in that general area, I was going to bring Deputy Dog and his sidekick along, but my missus doesn't trust me to look after 'her baby' alone that long, LOL, so she's taking him with her instead.

Hmmmm, 'appropriate beverages' ..... I see a TractorPoint "hospitality room" in the future ....... Not enough room in my motorhome for that, sounds like I better start phoning hotels in the area. LOL.

Howard, it is hard to tell do to poterntial options that could be with this outfit. You have a discounted price on the tractor but there again do to the options it would be hard to say. Are you getting extra work lights,radio,ag tires, rear mirrors? The list goes on, QT bucket, round back or square?

SIPS are a great way to build. I used ICF's for my walls, and then the icynene type insulation for my attic, but wish I would have figured out how to fit SIPS into the budget.

The only important thing is that they be installed properly, with all gaps/joints sealed with foam glue. In super cold environments, moisture from the interior can condense on the underside of the outer sheathing, if there are unsealed gaps. Google "Juno" and SIPS and you'll find the details.

All in all, a good way to build.

You are correct. That 'bow' is called a 'crown' and does the same thing as the crown in a piece of wood, it flattens under load.

In the case of your trailer it is to maintain the wheeels in a vertical position under load by ensuring that any flex only brings the axle back to flat.

I am wondering if anyone has had any experience building and/or owning clay-lined ponds. I would like to build a 1-acre recreational pond for swimming and fishing. Last week I had my excavator dig a few test-pits to determine soil content. Unfortunately, we hit shale at about 4 to 5 feet. In order to prevent the pond from leaking, I would have to line the bottom and banks with cohesive clay soil. This is a lot of extra work. My question is� is it worth it? Has anyone had a similar experience with building a pond in a shale area? I have ponds all around me, and no one seems to have a problem. Unfortunately none of these people built them themselves, so I cant ask them how they did it.

The real question is NOT, IMHO, how BIG a tractor do I need, it is how FAST do I want to get things done?

I was watching a special just last night on RFDTV on classic tractors, ones from pre-WWII, some from wayyyyyy before. These were "primary tillage" machines, in other words, if they didn't do it, a person and/or horse had to.

Most of them were LESS than 20hp at the draw-bar.

There is a 'hippie' near me who runs an 50 acre organic market gardening operation, he has just one tractor, a WVO-fuelled Kubota B7100, which makes a whopping 16hp at the crank on dino-diesel, who knows what french fry oil reduces that to.

Hi

Looking at CK30/25 HST. One big job will be snow removal/plowing on a very steep driveway.

I'm assuming Ag tires will be best in heavy snow?

When working in the woods in dry weather I also would think they would be more subject to puncture from roots/rocks?

Thanks for any advice, and also the CK25 vs. CK30...

Howard is one of the first tiller companies that built for the US market being here probably well over 30 years at this point. They, like most companies build both upper end and lower end. Good tillers use slip clutches and with the side to side movement they have a sliding driveshaft to align the gearbox so it doesn't need to run sideways off the tractor to match up. The size of the tines do make a difference in tine life as well as the tillers ability. Small high tensile tines will go into the ground easier then larger tines and the high tensile steel that is often used on the smaller tines wears excellent or even better then the larger crude steel tines. The smaller tines do the same work with less horsepower loss and less vibration on the tractor in hard pack ground.

Frank and Randy thanks for the advice. Both methods look like they will work great. You've answered one of my main concerns whether or not there would be any residue from the spray that would get on the work being cut. I wonder if you can keep the Boeshield on even when you are using the saw?

Your tractor not to defend it but a block heater might help it's cold weather performance and is far less money to spend and if it was a good model would help keep the new tractor's sales tax in check. There were many models of tractor's built by IH in the seventies and it would help me to better help you with the model number so I could know what you and your husband are used to so I could better advise you for your replacement. At this point there are small round balers that work fine behing the L-series of the Kubota line but your best value might be the MX or M version to give you a little extra horsepower. Often during haying it is nice to have a couple of tractors to make the task of hooking and hooking less and they all don't need to be the largest or equal size or features. To handle a 5x6 bale of dried hay off a bucket spear you would need a lift capacity in excess of a ton while bringing it back to the lift arms or pivot area would mean a couple hundred lbs less and all of this is important to giving a good recommendation to you.

My favorite up here in NY is blends of Kentucky Blue but it is expensive straight up and they do a lot with Creeping Red Fescue which seems to spread good and is extremely hardy but get's in to my gardens easily and is hard to stop the creeping action but the turf at 3" plus is lush and hard to kill with the dry summer we are having and it does wear well. We are on a good loam with good drainage from gravel and sand below.

Enjoy your 7800. Spent the weekend with the forks on ours. Moved 192 landscape timbers around the yard with them. Would't be without.

The three point hitch problem is a matter of adjustment by the tractor operator on a Kubota! The inmates were used while an extended strike by the unions basically closed some plants, interesting enough the quality control stayed at the same level at the dealers end and the inmates were not used in the factory that builds the TC-s or DX CNH tractors. Now the biggest thing that should be of concern that does have merit is what you have for jobs to do and the attachments you want to use with the tractor to do the work.

I am looking at buying a 1977 Belarus 520 in Texas. It is 4WD with 70 HP, 52 HP. Does anyone have ideas of approximate range of value? Are there problems that anyone knows of with this model?

ONEACE: My dealer told me the TS's are having problems with loader arms not being strong enough so they're being redesigned due to the extra power going through them from the rubber tracks. I have steel tracks now----should I be concerned? Also, have you seen anyone double up on the vertical rub strips on the cab to keep the loader arms from moving side to side so much?
