I appreciate all the complements, especially since the exterior is not done yet. Well...the interior is completely new with the exception of the factory installed carpet the lines everything and is glued in place. But realistically, very low hours and it cleaned up like new.<br>

The canvas is new (ouch), but I hired that done. All the components that wear have been replaced or repaired. Pumps, hoses, blowers, wires, batteries (4) as well as all of the electronics. I need a radar arch or tower, have the radar but no place to put it yet.<br>

Best part is, no mortgage payment. But the first mate is already talking about how nice a larger one would be. I told her she would either be heeling over or doing 60 knots in one of Murf's specials. I prefer the heeling, it's free!<br>

Oh...I almost forgot. I spent more hours than I care to remember on my back scraping and sanding. Removed hard bottom paint, sanded, repaired nicks and blemishes, barrier coat (yuk, what a job) and finally VC-17.

It's not clear what you intend to do with the machine. "Ploughing up pasture" implies yo me that you intend to do some cropping? If so you will need a machine bigger than 50hp, if however you just want to bush hog the pasture and "maintain" the woods then a 40 to 50 hp machine would be fine. Please be more specific with your intended use of the land, will you be bailing hay, planting beans etc.

I would go for the idustrial. WE have them. They will not rip up grass while mowing. You get great traction too.

We have a 29d but it seems like you need bigger. I would see you go with a 40d fwa. Make sure you get idustrial tires. good luck, robb

Hey Oneace or anyone else here. I just checked into the end of the crank, very worn. The new pilot bushing just falls out, real loose. I just resurfaced the flywheel on my lathe. Is it possible to drill out the center of the flywheel and just put in a bronze bushing to keep the input shaft straight or is the bearing idea better, If you use a bearing, do you just press it in or is there some type of retainer that I would have to make to hold it in. Has anyone just pressed in a bushing to your knowledge. Thanks alot here. I am walking into deep water here. Hate to have to install a new crank.

What doesn't sound right is that only one wheel broke. And you shouldn't be able to exceed the design limits of the machine if the loader relief valve hasn't been tinkered with. From my experience (and I don't baby my equipment) a spindle, bearings, or something else will give out before a wheel will---or even a tire! (just think of the abuse a wheel on a car gets just in everyday driving----pot holes, curbs, etc.). My guess it was a bad wheel from the start.

General rule of thumb when you do not have spec is to turn each cyl. to top of compression stroke and adjust till push rods get slight tension while turning with fingers.

You could get a Woods loader or some other after market one but the factory loader will be hard to find. Yes they have a rear and mid PTO with a 3pt hitch. They are generally good tractors as long as they were taken care of.

BamaJax, If it dies like runing out of fuel I'd start with the fuel filter. If that doesn't solve it then possibly a pinched fuel hose from the tank or something that restricts the fuel. Injectors don't all go bad at the same time, normaly a bad injector will cause an engine to miss. Hope it's something simple and inexpensive. Frank.

The only difference between the 2 tractors is the back hoe.
The one without the back hoe was 10400 the one with the back hoe was 14200
It cost me 3800 more to get the one with the back hoe.

I have a 4115 Hydro. the machine has been flawless until a few weeks ago when I had a pto problem. My PTO's (mid & rear) will not engage. I was mowing grass with a rear brush mower for a few hours and then I notice the rear PTO was NOT turning the mower. Nothing is set in the mower gear box, it still spins freely. It is now at the dealer getting diagnosed. I replaced the electric PTO selnoid (dealer recommendation)and that still didn't seem to fix it. The PTO mechanics seems to be fine. I checked them by changing PTO's and seeing if they were free or binding........?<br>

I have an 84 inch rake on my JD4310 - the bigger (within reason) the better. In addition to covering the tracks, I find the extra weight seems to be perfect for keeping the rake at the right depth. It doesn't dig into existing lawn but grabs and distributes the loose stuff just about right. It does a nice job of integrating the new with the old.

I just went through this myself with a 01 diesel Dodge. This is the second Dodge in a rown that came with Michelins and I don't like them.. They wear prematurely. anyway, I went with Cooper ATR's and love them.. Sidewalls are solid, excellent wear and great in snow..

All you have to do to flush the hoe is to leave the return end off of the line. Then move all of the control levers. That will flush the backhoe completely. As you extend and retract the cylinders there will be quite a bit of fluid that is expelled. You will need a suitable container to catch the oil. There is no reason for the tractor to over heat. It sounds like your dealer just wants to sell you some more expensive stuff. I didn't realize that you were wanting to put it on a Kubota, but that doesn't make any difference. The kit that you would need is called a power beyond kit. It allows the two backhoe hoses to be attached to the tractor.

If it's a new one it may (likely?) be out of adjustmant as Denwood stated.

If it's a few years old it might just need a new set of gaskets. The ones we use don't need to be dug up to change the gaskets, the gaskets sit on the end of the push-rod and run up against a seat at the bottom. When you unscrew the top, you can pull the push-rod including gaskets right out, the gaskets are held in place with a small brass screw in the end of the push-rod. Any hardware store should have them, I believe the ones on ours are the same gaskets as a regular garden hose spigot uses.
