I got a price of $24,012 (includes sales tax) for a TC40DA with 16LA loader, R4's, grill guard, quick attach, and loaded tires. I don't really need such a big tractor, but you are right it is 18K for a TC24, 21K for a 33, 22K for a 35, so you might as well get into a great tractor !! I thought this was a pretty good deal. Tarheel was about $1000 less even after factoring in their shipping, but it's not worth it to not buy locally.

I forgot to mention King Kutter is an economy brand and the build quality leaves a little to be desired. However, they are a lot less expensive than the premium brands. Their implements are still quite beefy and you'd be hard pressed to break anything using a lightweight SubCUT.

I have this cutter! This is my third season of using it and I LOVE IT! The ONLY issue I have is the top bracing makes it difficult to clean. I did replace the tail wheel zerk fittings but that was my choice. It's easy to remove blades to sharpen and steady as a rock behind my M4900. I finally retired an antique 60" cutter and cut my mowing time by two hours.

The price is about what I paid too, so I don't think you'll be disappointed in the cutter's performance.

Bill, Oneace, KWS - thank you for your inputs. I'll have a discussion with the dealer tomorrow. HP aside (the consensus on the board points to 40), the comments on the R1 vs R4 tires are especially welcome, as two different folks at the dealer said different things. One - R1, the other, R4. The R4 comments came with a rationale along the lines "won't scar up the ground like an R1 will, are heavier, so balance out the R1 traction-profile advantage"...surprised me a bit. I will be checking out the "I hate my R4s" thread KW! I really like the gravel path suggestion - thanks to you all on the tire point alone. Back to HP...one neighbor has a TC30, and for what they are doing (hogging, loading-digging) their comment was "a little under powered for what we want to do".

Hmmm, Oneace or Brokenarrow or other dealer-aware reader - if you are up to it, I'd be interested in a ball-park (very round numbers) newprice compare on two packages

These little tractors aren't bulldozers. Pushing or ramming a big stump is a good way to blow out loader hydraulic cylinders and possibly do some major damage. Stump removal with a CUT requires digging it out and tearing through the roots. Small stumps may be no problem, but they can be deceiving too. Sorry, I don't know enough about the 3320 to have an opinion. A trip to the dealer to check 'em out is in order I think.

I have a 2004 3130 hst, the manuel shows the main drain plug and the one on each rear axle at the bottom, however it also shows one other drain on each side that is up and back a little further the drains on each axle. The problem is I can't find the latter drains, I looked all over, are they really there are is the illustration wrong????<br>

I have no problems brush hogging with my blue TC33D hydro--I can stop with the mower still turning and use the clutch only in an emgergency---so I'm a little confused if/how a live PTO relates to non-gear type transmissions like mine??? I know there is a 2-stage clutch for the geared TC33.

It's not Tivo, but we have a Dish network PVR which is the same basic thing. We would have a real hard time going back to watching TV without it now. Never had a gear tractor, but since I've never owned a vehicle with an automatic I doubt a gear would bother me too much. Having the infinitely variable speed has been great for maneuvering amongst the trees, that's for sure. I'll tell ya what else has been great. We put all our CD's on an MP3 server and use an AudioTron to play them. It's great, pick any type of music or any artists you want and just play 'em. No flipping between CD's, no commercials, no satellite audio fees, no obnoxious DJ's and all your music available at the touch of a knob.

I have an E2304 and really like it. It it time to tune it up. Does anyone know the valve and timing settings for this? Anything else I need to adjust for a tune-up? Also, the lift quit and the fluid looked foamy. What should I do?

Hi,

The system maintenance is complete and we are on a brandy new server, with improved network connectivity. From where I sit it seems a little snappier then before. We were only down about two hours from 2 to 4AM Eastern Time.

Poorfarm, your dealer was way off. They will not tear up the turf and to try and do loader work with them in a barn is asking for trouble, because the bucket will go in the opposite direction that you steer.

The section that needed to be 10'[flood protection] was done w/steel posts last fall.The remaining 300' needs only to be either 2' or 6'. I graded a lot of the bank down this spring so that the wall wouldnt have so much of a tunnel look.Also the wife thought bank landscapeing with a lower wall would look better.Now that some of it is done,I agree.I'm also going to open up the spot where the two creeks come together into a shallow pond of sorts to help lower the velocity at this point.I was also figuring on 2' centers for the cedar posts.

You got to think of it from their point of view.They feel they won't benefit if the nice edge of your lawn is protected...or your driveway has a nicer entrance. Their interest is simply in keeping the roadway passable and directing roadway runoff away from the road.

Fair or not, they're the government and can do what they please.

I think you're better off not staying angry. If this project is important and you have the $1000, do it... otherwise try to find a cheaper way to control erosion (line top of ditch with stone?) or just forget about it. Either way it's not worth losing sleep over.

I urgently need to find PTO parts for my B7100. Local dealer states some parts no longer available from factory. Where can I find used parts or complete rear end or a dealer who might have these items in stock. <br>

Although I need several parts, the dealer can provide everything except for a GEAR, spur 66711-1453-1 and a COVER, rear 66611-1222-1. Thanks in advance for any help.<br>

The phillips head screw on top of the petcock is what keeps the unit together. The screw matches a slot in the turning part (valve). You should plug the fuel line coming from the tank and remove the screw. Then try to remove the valve by turning in the correct direction and allowing it to come out. Clean the corrosion from the parts and check the o-ring(s).Lube the parts and reassemble.
