I have an E2304 and really like it. It it time to tune it up. Does anyone know the valve and timing settings for this? Anything else I need to adjust for a tune-up? Also, the lift quit and the fluid looked foamy. What should I do?

Thanks Art. I changed the fuel filter and it seems to run a bit better. Where else should I check to improve power ? Should I just take it to the dealer for a tune-up ? Thanks in advance. Dan

I saw you pixs - what brand rear blade is that and does it has skid pads?? Als what type of 250 spreader did you get??
I got a BX2230 and need to by the same. I just fabricated at 55" rear 3 pt hitch dethacher - that why I'm looking for longer pins. Small clearence problem on the proto type.

Hi,

The system maintenance is complete and we are on a brandy new server, with improved network connectivity. From where I sit it seems a little snappier then before. We were only down about two hours from 2 to 4AM Eastern Time.

I was just thinking how certain things are compelling once you have them and you cannot give them up.<br>

For example I had a gear tractor for 22 years and having a gear versus hydro never bothered me. But after I got the hydro I cannot shutup about it.<br>

Likewise with Tivo, first my brother had it and quite frnakly I thought he was nuts the way he went on about it.<br>
<br>
Then finally I got one, and I again could not stop talking about how great it was. In fact when my brother in law was over I gave him my feature pitch and he went out and got it the next day.<br>
<br>
So just curious how many of you have Tivo, and how many of you feel a hydro after owning a gear is a modern marvel that you absoultely must have, no going back.....And what other innovative things are on your list of new "gotta have" products?

I did not mix them up, I have 15000 sq feet, which is over 1000 linear feet, and it is just my opinion that backing up alot just is not pleasurable, for me my cut off would be 150 to 200 feet in length. Hey but I am just an old guy that gets a stiff neck easily.<br>

I recently bought a 40 acre property with stone house, barn and outbuildings about 8 miles from where I grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin. Raw undeveloped land around the Ladysmith area 3 hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul goes for $1K per acre.

I would recommend the larger unit at least the TC40. I would also recommend ag's as well. They seem to do bet as stated before in clay and rocky soil. The price that you were quoted for the 33 package is not too out there if you keep in mind that Land Pride is near the top of the price chain.

Poorfarm, your dealer was way off. They will not tear up the turf and to try and do loader work with them in a barn is asking for trouble, because the bucket will go in the opposite direction that you steer.

The section that needed to be 10'[flood protection] was done w/steel posts last fall.The remaining 300' needs only to be either 2' or 6'. I graded a lot of the bank down this spring so that the wall wouldnt have so much of a tunnel look.Also the wife thought bank landscapeing with a lower wall would look better.Now that some of it is done,I agree.I'm also going to open up the spot where the two creeks come together into a shallow pond of sorts to help lower the velocity at this point.I was also figuring on 2' centers for the cedar posts.

No welder as of yet. I have been looking at them though. My neighbor just bought a Miller 650 amp stick/MIG/TIG welder off of eBay for $1,000! Hope I can find a deal like that when and if I do decide to buy a welder. Since moving to the ranch we have been incurring costs here and there that all add up. So I gotta leave some fudge factor in the budget.

I have looked at MANY various models and brands so far. When you get down to the brass tacs and compare apples to apples; (i.e. front and rear chain guards, slip clutch protection, minimum 10 guage deck, minimum .250 thickness side panels, 1/2 inch x 4 inch blades, etc.) they all seem to come within a few hundred dollars of one another. When you add in shipping costs; (approx. $200) that makes the prices even closer.

The other day my John Deere dealer manager made me an offer that was hard to pass up............he told me he would sell me an MX5 complete with front & rear chain guards, as well as slip clutch (these are all included standard anyway on the MX5)for $1,700. I am thinking that is as good of a price I am gonna get ANYWHERE and probably not be able to get anywhere else. I think I am gonna take him up on the at offer. They have been REAL good in dealing with me and even though it is a 150 mile drive one way; I think it will be WELL worth the trip.

In any case Murf; I'd be delighted to have a visit with you and spend a few hours in the shop!

Dennis, on the Deere ROPS, you have 4 holes that line up. The pivots, then the hole in the fixed lower section and two holes on each side of the upper on each side of the tractor. So my counting of holes is off...

Anyway, the holes on the lower fixed section do not align with the uppers. Meaning I can get a pin part way through, but not all the way through as it's on an angle. Maybe I should take a photo. But it's clear they used a bad jig, didn't use a jig at all, or some other screw up. I don't know if others have the same problem or not.

You got to think of it from their point of view.They feel they won't benefit if the nice edge of your lawn is protected...or your driveway has a nicer entrance. Their interest is simply in keeping the roadway passable and directing roadway runoff away from the road.

Fair or not, they're the government and can do what they please.

I think you're better off not staying angry. If this project is important and you have the $1000, do it... otherwise try to find a cheaper way to control erosion (line top of ditch with stone?) or just forget about it. Either way it's not worth losing sleep over.

I urgently need to find PTO parts for my B7100. Local dealer states some parts no longer available from factory. Where can I find used parts or complete rear end or a dealer who might have these items in stock. <br>

Although I need several parts, the dealer can provide everything except for a GEAR, spur 66711-1453-1 and a COVER, rear 66611-1222-1. Thanks in advance for any help.<br>

The phillips head screw on top of the petcock is what keeps the unit together. The screw matches a slot in the turning part (valve). You should plug the fuel line coming from the tank and remove the screw. Then try to remove the valve by turning in the correct direction and allowing it to come out. Clean the corrosion from the parts and check the o-ring(s).Lube the parts and reassemble.

You might have a fault in the wiring or the switch on the housing so I'd be checking to see how that part of it is working. Good call to stop and find out what is wrong.

What's it comming off? You will probably have to buy the mounting brackets and power beyond plumbing in addition.

Yes it should fit. BUT I'd check with JD first for the other parts and installation costs.
