First, I have some Stihl equipment and love their quality and ease of servicing.

When I went shopping for a new weed eater and backpack blower, I went with Husqvarna. Very high RPMs and perfectly balanced. The blower was the biggest one I could find at the time and will blow rocks across the driveway if I let it. The weeder also throws rocks but at a much higher speed (OUCH!)

I don't think you could go wrong with either brand. When you get one, you are welcome to drop by the farm for a break-in period.... :-)

I'm NOT a grass expert but I have done what you're suggesting. Last fall I cut out the trees, dug up the stumps with the bx23, and then used the FEL to fill in the holes. I didn't use a rake or blade afterwards since my ground was pretty level except where trees or rocks had been.

The trouble with land clearing is that any big holes you backfill may settle over the next few months leaving your perfect grade full of dips; my advice is don't sweat making the grading 100% perfect right now.

I seeded with fast growing/periennal mix and when it comes time to overseed in the fall I'll also take a handrake and some topsoil to fill in the depressions to fix where big stumpholes really settled.

I didn't have a thick layer of pine needles or too many roots, so your results may vary. I didn't do a soil test either, but it probably would be a good idea.

Two or four wheel drive is the same. I thought that might have something to do with it so I've tried changing it while in both 2 and 4 WD and it does not seem to make a difference, still as difficult.

As the subject line states I am looking for a Kioti dealer in this area NY and NH is fine anyone know of one - ? The dealer in VT (Swanton) stoped selling Kioti said the company was difficult to deal with.<br>

In floor heating would be the way to go. Do you have access to wood for heating? I have a neighbor that built a 34x60 barn and a 3,000 square foot house and is all heated off one of the outdoor wood burners, it could heat twice that with out any issues.

I said atleast 20 years. I have a whole bunch of them that are running strong that are in the 81-85 model years. My neighbor next to the farm will be 91 years old this August. His Craftsman lawntractor died last week, and he is looking for a new one now. My dad quite mowing at 79 when Parkinson's got the best of him and couldn't any longer.

I bought a used L2850D and everything operates fine. The body needs some work and this winter I will probably redue it. However, I have seen the newer models and they have a one piece fip hood. Does anyone know if the newer body components will fit on the older L2850. If they will, I would rather replace everything with the new style body parts for the hood.

Have you checked that nothing is draining the battery when the engine is off? What's the voltage read at the battery when it's running?

I feel they are one of the best in the market place by far. Slip clutch protected which is no major feat for a good brand but the fact that when you adjust the hitch to work offset you move the whole gearbox eliminating a whole new angle for the drive line to try to run at now thats the way it should be! Besides that they seem to be doing the job better for our commercial tilling guys as far as the horsepower,less vibrations,more fluff of soil with less passes and great tine life.

Hi Art,
I see a stump down by my neighbor that I am sure will be one of those jobs. Still I think the main motivation for him is having something to do and having someone who hasn't heard all of his stories. Glad to provide both.
The other dirt is still there, I got side tracked to the ditch to get ahead of the concrete pour. Life finds me too often behind the desk and not often enough on the tractor.

Still do not know if I am using the dipstick correctly by inserting all the way in but as overfilling is a definite bad thing ie worse than underfilling by 20% I will go with that and keep changing the oil so it always looks like Honey and using the Black Deere expensive filter until it dies.<br>
All I know is I love my Little Tractor and want a bigger one with a Backhoe and 20 more ponies. Sigh. I can dream cant I? Thanks for the help Gentlemen. I do appreciate the input.<br>
