I have to admit that for years I have sorta neglected changing coolant on my cars letting them go for up to seven years before selling the car. I also founde in years gone by that when I changed it somehow the system seemed to get mucked up perhaps due to the water that was added to the coolant.<br>

Anyway, I am thinking of keeping my Tundra longer and think maybe I should clean up act and change the coolant. But I used just let it go down the drain, not acceptable practice today, got a dog poisonous. Hard to be so neat with that stuff on the drive.<br>

What do you guys do if you change your coolant, how do you dispose of it?<br>

I was planning on draining as much as can, then skip the flushing, then just fill with a 50 50 mix of distilled water and coolant, any issues? This was the only way I thought I could contain the chemicals and not introduce any of my well water issues to the system.

Here in NJ we are one of the very few states where we are not allowed to fill our own cars, trucks or cans, I will check with a couple of stations I go to see if they care what kinda can I use, they will probably think I am nuts. The stores seem to rarely have the yellow or even blue cans. I saw nothing at Wally World other than small red cans.

that_guy I think they both had the same ventless spouts, I'll look closer.

I've really never heard of one going bad. My Father inlaw had a couple for his outboard motor that were so old the had faded to almost white. Mine usually get lost or loaned out to never return long before they get very old. Frank.

As far as windrowing goes I have found with my Kubota MMM that it is more prone to windrow because of the deflector then anything else, cuting more often helps but does not cure it.

I have found that tying the deflector up even a small amount completely eliminates the windrow problem. The Kubota deck is pretty impressive, with the deflector down and the windrows its looks like the grass was cut for haying, no mulching action that I can see. I guess if you want mulching that's not so hot, but I don't want mulching to me that just leads to clumps.

You have to be more careful obviously without the deflector, it seems that all the landscapers with their zero radius mowers mow without any deflector as well.

Thanks Guys. The dealer is going to replace engine oil and hydraulic fluid and filters. I couldn't find any leaks. Not even any seepage. Sounds like the problem will likely go away when they do the service.

I picked up a Ruger 77/17 last year and installed a target trigger from Volquartsen.

At first, I too wasn't all that impressed. It placed the little plastic bullet right where it was supposed to go but all it did was make a little hole. Where�s the fun in that???

So I tried again at my .22 rimfire spinner target that uses 3/16� plate and is supposed to flip and stay up until reset (assuming you hit the darn little swinging knob!). The .17HMR left a crater the size of a dime and almost punched out the entire center of the spinner! The energy this little round has is amazing.

Yes, I did gain the opportunity to try it out on Mr. Garden Eating Groundhog and one shot flipped him over onto his backside and he was forever mooning the sky. I found a small entrance wound, no exit hole and a bunch of ground giblets inside. Sorry for the details but I think it is important to the post.

Next came the Corn Eating Crows. One shot, a puff of feathers and no more crow.

Based on my direct experience, with a good firearm, the .17HMR is one fine varmint round. Just watch the wind and distance.

Not the ZD28. It has large inflated tires front and back. My experience is that horses mess up a pasture far more than other animals. Their hooves really create holes when the ground is wet, and it dries hard and pocketed. Overall, the mower is great.

I agree the dealer is very important but also just if not more important is how you fit and like the tractor. Don't just go by what a dealer or someone else tells you go get on each machine and see for yourself.

Seems fair enough. You saved about $2k over a new unit, depending on your location. The 2910 is discontinued, but that shouldn't be an issue.

Well, it's going to the dealer next week for a scheduled tear down. The CFO got involved yesterday and she's concerned about the safety issue of fully depressisng the clutch and the hydrostat pedal at the same time. Makes too much sense.

There are a lot of 7800 owners on this board, so I'll be sure to let everyone know what comes out of this. I've had garden tractors I that worked harder than I worked this 7800 with no problems. This machine has 115 hours of "babying" on it, so finding out exactly what is going on should be interesting. Stay tuned.

The kids car is a Saturn. Yes its older (1993) but the headliner is a pain in the butt. I had a car like that, my wife had one, I think many of us have had ONE! LOL. Thing is, that we plan on selling it ASA he goes to college this fall. I dont want to pass on a jury rigged car, so I guess I am down to having qoutes (estimates) or taking the whole thing out, scraping it down and installing a whole new headliner. That sounds like a time consuming project. I asked the question just incase they came out with any new tech. product. Looks like they have not! I have tried the glue and or spray adhesive's in the past with out much luck. That foam is the killer (I think).

It sounds more like a fuel solenoid problem which JD has had many problems with. Does your machine even have an electric lift (fuel) pump, I know the 4300/4400 models do not.

Murf and AV, thanks for the replies. I'll look into both of those ideas.

My trailer is fine even though it's 5 years old. But I've been able to let it sit through the salt seasons every year. At the time I was more worried about the steel corrosion than the wiring. I've seen what they look like when the have to be used year around by contractors and such.

Brad, as Frank suggested, ask at the local dealer, they'll know for sure what's where. I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast.

The cooler doesn't work quite as well in the summer, and you have to drink steady or it slushes up the brew in the winter, but it's cheap!
