THis week I'm going to look at a new Big Tex Trailer for my JD 2210 Tractor. I'm looking at a 7x14 6000 GVRW model (car hauler, tandem, with brake). No in my area carries this brand so I'll need to travel nearly 90 minutes to see one. THey look good on the internet site and I've "listened" to others on this site speak of them from time to time. Anybody own one or have experience with them? What's the paint job like? Can I put sides on it? LIst is $1600 - is that fair?

I just took receipt of the 25 hp Nortrac w/loader last Saturday. I'm trying to use every mode quickly before the warrantee runs out! While in the mud, blood, and the beer, I leaned on the rear wheel lock-up to get myself out and the lever turned counter clockwise on me (loosened up). I grabbed a wrench and tightened the lock nut, but to no avail - it loosened again! The lever is not very heavy and the cast piece it screws into was neither polished or lubed, causing severe strain on the lever. It bent at the threading (weakest area). I pulled the cast piece off, polished the tapered point of contact, and drilled out the threading. The lever had two 90 degree bends in it. I cut off the threaded section, heated it up and made two 30 degree bends instead. Then I welded it to the cast piece. Lubing the tapered point of contact, it works like it should have been engineered in the first place.

I purchased a Gearmore tiller and have not idea how I am supposed to cut and adjust the shaft. I really feel stupid about this but I don�t want to screw this up and I got no instructions on how it should be done.

I have bought the manual from the dealer and these pages are the same. if I only know this before.. The 2330 and the 23 are the same tractor except for the hoe on the BX23

I'm ready to buy a box blade for my 7510. Here's what I've found. At the local Tractor Supply Company I can buy a KK 48" (295 pounds) or a KK 60" (350 pounds). Each of these is right around $350 and I have a $250 gift certificate. I mention the gift certificate only because there isn't anything else I really need right now. Or, I can buy a Woods standard series 48" (400 pounds) for $525. This is new from the dealer, but the unit has been sitting outside for a year. <br>

I'll use it to maintain three gravel driveways (the longest is about 750') as well as fill in some ruts and holes in the horse paddocks.<br>

Any thoughts as to which of theses units will be the best match for my tractor?

It sounds to me like a salesman who doesn't know enough about his own product to show its advantages, but has to run down the competition with BS.

Mike: I live in the fingerlakes region of New York and just bought a new MF431. Basic tractor was $15,500 brush hog $1,600. I've opted to wait a year for the front end loader, but they want $4,500 for that. I bought new because sed is so expensive that new makes more sense. Andy

Yes,i should have been more specific. Tables for const.grade dimensional lumber.This will be like for fir,not yellow pine which is stronger.Ive seen them,its only a page or so,but lumber yards dont seem to have them anymore [at least around here].

If it were me, I'd take off the iMatch and hook the XB subsoiler directly to the 3 point hitch. Your arms will pull in that much and mounting directly to the 3 point may even be better. A sub-soiler can be pretty aggressive at times depending on its us.

That is a big savings.... might have been tempted myself had they been available two years ago.

Make sure you get the tall folding ROPS form Deere so there is plenty of room underneath. It is designed to fold and lock in the folded position without bumping into the 46 B/H controls. It may not exactly fit around the Woods controls.

How about when they get down your chimney and bump their way through the flapper and then fly all over the house covered with soot?

When you have vaulted ceilings you can't even whack them with a broom, so that just leaves the pellet gun option.

I have never seen an electric start for a JD "H". I doubt you could find one unless some aftermarket company made one.

The spark plugs are definitely a good place to start, although I personally do not recommend Champions. They used to be good, but around ten or fifteen years ago we started having problems with them. I recommend the Autolites, but you have to be sure to get the proper ones. Some of these tractors had the spark plugs in the cylinder head and some were screwed into the block. This makes a difference in which plug you use. If you have a dealer around that has an old technician that was around when these tractors were usde alot, I'd recommend talking to him. Good Luck!

mbrown, my Deere dealer sends me anything I want via UPS if it can be shipped. It is far cheaper than driving to pick things up. The parts manager gives me a 15% discount to boot. If your dealer won't do this, let me know and I can give you Ricky's toll free phone number at the parts counter and he can ship you what ever you need. I just started trying in earnest to find a dealer that carries the Chevron Synthetic Hydraulic Tractor Fluid. Living in Pennsylvania it seems the nearest dealer to me is about 100+ miles away. There's a dealer in NY that's a bit closer. I'll be calling after the weekend to see if they carry the Syn fluid and, if so, what the cost would be.
I don't understand why, with the popularity of CUT's, that Walmart, Sam's or even some of the bigger Auto Supply stores don't carry the synthetic fluid. I sent e-mail to Wally World suggesting they think about it for what good it will do. On the subject of the synthetic fluid.. My power steering unit calls for the same fluid as my hydraulic system. Can I use the synthetic in the power steering or am I just wasting good syn fluid or is it just a dumb question to begin with?
