Take a look at Av8rs' #18 pic and then go the Kubota web site and look at the seating on a BX 23.

I think the guy in the kubota pics is about 5'5" judging from his size compared to the tractor, but it give you an idea of where your legs are supposed to go and how much room is really needed for a person under the ROPS.

BTW, I am not 6'6". I am only 6'4".

I'm thinking seriously about trading in my G1900 mower with 60 in deck for one of the ZD series mowers with 60 inch deck. The G1900 has 550 hrs. and is in excellent condition; any idea what it might be worth on trad in, and what are price ranges for ZD series mowers. I think I'm interested in the ZD 25, but really need to do some more evaluating before deciding. I'm mowing about 4 acres weekly.

If you have brakes on your trailer I think you will be O.K. with the TC40. I know of quite a few people that pull with there 1/2 ton truck.

It works on the 3000 series because it has power steering(hence hydraulic capability). I have a 2518 myself, if you come up with anything, please let me know.<br>

Does anyone make a "old school" sleeve hitch to use on a current Cub 2500 series? I haven't been able to find one and my dealer is dumbfounded. Heck, Sears offers them for their GT5000 "Garden Tractor's", why doesn't Cub?

I bought one identical to yours in 7/03. Same deck and engine and I have 58hrs of abuse on it now. Just changed the tranny filter and topped off fluid, replaced air filter, changed engine oil & filter and went through the entire owners manual to check all adjustments. When I removed the deck, I cleaned it very well, inspected the belt and greased all zerks on the (including the gauge wheels fittings and their shafts) I white lithium sprayed all other mechanical contact points without zerk fittings and sharpened the blades. I had a John Deere STX38, LX176 & LT155 prior to this Cub and I like this much better. It will power through grass taller than it should and gives a nice cut and rides very well. The steering is great and the heavy 48" deck is bulletproof. I recommend the front bumper for "accidents". You have a good machine, I hope it lastas and lasts.

If anyone knows of a sleeve hitch to fit this model, please reply. thanks.

Well, the washer will work, its the prewash part that needs work. I found using a mixture of Dawn and water sprayed on the grease first helps break it down enough so the splatters dont stick to everything else. For heavy crud, I use Gunk engine degreaser, then power wash it all. It takes skill to wash the grease off and keep it off everything else including yourself. ;). Work from the center, moving the grease away from the tractor, and you will get it done.

You should be bushogging, not mowing this. It would tear up a MMM. From your description at least. I have went through some pretty terrible stuff on my R4 tires, you should be fine. Once again, don't bush hog with a MMM or finish mower, buy a quality rotary cutter. If this property is 12 acres to cut, I would look at an L series with a 6' bush hog, or at the least a B7800 or B2910 size with a 5' bush hog depending on how often you are going to cut it. You could do it in a long day with either. Seat time is good though... I like bushogging anyway.

I grew up on a farm as well in the 50's - 60's; I was just another farm kid until we moved off when 10. Dad was an active farmer (120 acres, cattle, and pigs) as were my uncles within several miles of our place. Dad also had a small Ford tractor dealership at the edge of town. We moved off the farm when he became a zone sales manager for Allis-Chalmers' farm division. My dad told me that I was driving his jeep at 5, although I don't remember much of it. If I wasn't in school, it seems that I was with him or helping him -- his idea of a straight line was quite different than mine at first.<br>

This particular situation though left me numb seeing two little girls (guessing to be about 5 and 7) out for what seemed to be a ride with their daddy. I could see one, not two, being with him for a short time, but not with a tiller going. I could see their dad looking back to see how the tiller was doing; he was distracted during that time and not focused on the girls (I thought). One slip of either one of the girls could have been met with something bad. This just didn't look right in many respects.

I would think you want a tiller width sufficient in size to cover your tracks. You will need a minimum of 72". I have run a 60" KK on 27 gross HP without any issues. Have had plenty of power to break shear pins when hitting rocks and big tree roots.

TC33D with FEL, damaged the sidewall in front turf tire (Titan) and it finally blew out. OK, I probably should have heavier tires with the FEL, but that's the way the dealer sold it to me.<br>

Dealer doesn't stock replacements, and is not even sure how to order them! Finally tracked down a Titan Tire dealer who wants $84 for a new one. We had him repair ours with a tube while we analyze our options.<br>

We're thinking it may be wise to replace both fronts with R-4 type. Is the diameter the same as for the Turfs? If not, is it different enough to cause binding problems when 4WD is engaged?<br>

No, its just a real flimsy piece of 1/8 x 5/8 thats welded to the end of a 5/8 rod that controls the valve.then they drilled a 3/16 hole thru it to attach the joystick. Not much material left to hold it on.

To me, the most significant difference would be the "position control" the 2910 has vs. the 1/4 inching valve" the 7800 has on the 3pt. The other little items aren't a big deal. If yoiu aren't going to grade much, it won't matter to you. If you are, buy the 2910 unless you can get Beagle to fix it up like he did his. I wish he could come to Va. and fix my B7610 with his device for position control. I am having to constantly look over my shoulder while grading whenever I have to reset the box blade. I have a good feel for it now, but it is still a pain. The B7800 tractor is awesome however, wished I had bought it for running a larger 5' bush hog.

I have the Woods GTC 60" tiller on my Kubota B-7800 and I had to end up cutting off about 5" off each end of the PTO shaft.

The tiller is awesome. I have all ready tilled about 10 gardens for people. One word of advice is to retighten all the bolts after the first use. The second time I used mine, the shackle that holds the rear lift gate to the the tiller fell off and a bolt backed itself out. After retightening everything, none has backed out since.

It sounds like your flow control valve is closed.

Look for this in your manual.

A flow control valve allows you to adjust the drop rate of the three-point mounted implement

I stand corrected on the 790 transmission. But the 790 has 27 hp, not 30. Unless you buy a used one made a couple of years ago.
