I've also been shopping around and thinking of getting a new tractor. Think I'm leaning toward the new 20 series. The 3520 with 37HP replaces the 4410 with 35 HP. The 3520 also is turbocharged. The 300CX loader is a little stronger than the 430.

Let's see if I can describe it in less than 10,000 words.

The system uses the 'factory' top pins in the bucket. The bottom pins need to slide out to release the bucket, so they were replaced with hitch pins a little longer, but the same diameter as the 'fasctory' pins, the hitch pins also give you handles to make this easier.

The utility frame shown in my picture # 18 is the same system, the top pin stays in place, the bottom pin is the release and lock.

The heart of the system is a small frame that goes on the FEL arms in place of the bucket. The FEL side of the frame is the same width and hole spacing as the bucket. A few inches forward of the mounts, it narrows down such that it now fits into the openings in the bucket frame, being the same width as the FEL arms themselves. The difference is that the frame has a large hook in place of just a hole for the top pin. The bottom is just a plain hole as before.

In use, you just pull the bottom pins, they slide out very easily, then set the bucket down and roll the curl function out as if you were dumping a bucket full of material, this pulls the bottom mount clear and unhooks the top mount from the pin.

To remount the bucket, or anything else, you do the reverse. Tip the frame forward to about 45� and drive into the bucket, curl it back to vertical and raise the attachment up into the air. Then you just slip the bottom pins back in place, again, they go quite easily.

Like anything else, once you get the hang of it, change over is a few seconds and no hard work at all. It does require you to get off the machine to replace the lower pins, but that's not an issue for me. The convenience of the forks and other bits, trailer hitch, snow plow, etc., far outweigh having to get off the machine once or twice.

grinder, a follow up from our discussion last fall and the ensuing experiment. The piece of 3/4" insulation is still laying on the ground next to the barn. As soon as it thaws from the ground so I can pick it up, I'll see if the ground is frozen under it. It's pretty well frozen-in still.

I'm guessing the ground froze under the board.

I don't know how far you can run them in total, but I know the Kohler's on our Ferris Pro Cut's sure have a lot of hours on them.

We generally run them about 1,500 per year and rebuild over the winter. After the second rebuild but before their run again, at about 3,000 hours, we sell them, usually to homeowners. There are lots of people around here with machines they bought from us over the years that are still running strong at 4,000 plus hours, but that is after being freshened up at least twice.

I have a friend who does strictly grass cutting, he has Pro Cuts with well over 3,000 hours on them that still work hard every day.

Like any other machine, if you look after it, it will look after you.

They start out depending on how equipped just over 40,350 bare and not knowing the demand I'd have to say anything under 30,000 would be a good buy not taking into consideration the tractor being anything less then a 9 out of 10 on rating.

I saw this at my dealer. He had 2 of them come in that way.
One of them got broke off while the guy was moving snow and drove over a small bank. Massey should come up with a skid plate or relocate it somplace up out of the way. There bigger tractors have the same low point mounted filter altough the tractors offer better ground clearance. It makes me nervous when I am using the loader. I have to watch for rocks and what I drive over.

I've seen a lot of posts regarding the proper method used to check the air pressure in liquid filled tires. I wanted see for myself if there was a variation in air pressure. <br>
I started with 15-19.5 R4 tires filled just above valve stem with water/anti freeze mixture.(valve stem should be covered to prevent corrosion).<br>
#1. valve stem up & tire raised off ground - 12 psi<br>
#2. valve stem down & tire raised off ground - 12 psi<br>
#3. valve stem up & tire resting on ground - 12 psi<br>
#4. valve stem down & tire resting on ground - 13 psi<br>
I then put valve stem at top and let out liquid until only air came out of valve stem. I repeated steps #1-#4 got the same results. <br>
I hope this test will clear up some confusion regarding the proper method used to check air pressure in liquid filled tires.<br>

If the PTO is in gear with the transmission in neutral the PTO should spin.
You should have no problems running a post hole digger.

Does anyone have any experience with this tractor? Any problem with parts/repairs (do Agco dealers still supply parts and service)? Any problems with the air-cooled engine (i believe made by Same-sp?) overheating or experienceing early wear? Thanks!

Anyone have any experience with this tractor? I believe it has an air-cooled Same(sp?)engine....Any problem getting it serviced/parts? Does Agco still "recognize" this tractor and brand (meaning offer repairs/parts/ etc)? And any problems with the air-cooled issue (overheating in hot weather)?

Stephen,

The side gearbox is easy as you take out the plug on the side and fill from the top. That took about 2 quarts of oil. The top one is a guess. The manual said to fill it half full. I had to use a light to see down in there and I still ended up using a clean wire as a dipstick. I put in just over 1 quart, about 1.2 - 1.25 quarts.

Not sure about your climate, but here in Maine it seems to work well
provided you get a good mix. I found out not all applicators
mix it the same. Do your homework and talk to some pro's.
I understand it can vary greatly. Type and % of what type
of seed and fert.
Some will stand behind it 100%.

Tractor prices seem to vary a lot from area to area so your prices could be differant.
I priced a Kioti CK 30 (30 HP) HST w/loader last year, just over $16,000. ( In Western, Pa.)
A CK 30 gear w/loader was just over $15,000.
I believe the CK 25 models were around $1,000 cheaper than the 30.
