I asked a few questions on this forum a few weeks ago concerning a 2000 JD 4100 gear CUT. I now understand neither the mid or rear PTO are live. Furthermore, I am told if the clutch is pushed in, the MMM will stop spinning, which makes sense. However, if the clutch is out, but tractor is in neutral, will the rear PTO spin? If not, does that mean I could never use a 3 pt. post hole digger with this unit? Thanks in advance for your help and opinions.

If the PTO is in gear with the transmission in neutral the PTO should spin.
You should have no problems running a post hole digger.

Yes it will run as described. You must lift the seat and pull the safety switch up before you select the the rear PTO for any operation where you are not in the seat.

As far as selections, you can run one or the other, or both, or none. ....
