I'm not sure what a snow buncher is. I assume it replaces the bucket and is fixed in position (no angle). Would I be able to pile snow with it?<br>

Denwood all good reasons for a hydro if you will be doing a lot of close work like lawn mowing as well as if there would be a lot of loader work. If it is wide open level ground that is flat to be worked then a gear drive can work. I'd definitely be looking for an independent pto drive if my choice was a gear drive. If the main purpose is yard work then it is also best to be light for less damage to the yard.

I am an ex broker, (and ex c-21 owner also) I'll add my 1.5cents worth (inflation you know). The cost to build, improve this property will be the same as a choice lot, the negative value adjustment of the nearby hi wires will apply to the whole property when it is appraise din the future. on the other hand, 600 ft is a pretty good distance and may be OK if they are local distribution lines and not cross country lines carring thousands of volts.

Ardician, same company that makes the bucket grapple so when you find a dealer for that you can price the quick tach. I thought of going with that option, but the budget dictated otherwise. I wanted a bucket, forks, and a grapple, so if I added the $500 adapter, $500 forks, and a grapple for $1500-3000 it added up quick. Unfortunatly, John Deere's arrogance didn't allow them to offer a universal quick tach in years past, although the deere tach was standard on all, not an option. It was still better than some companies that used to offer none.

My $0.02 worth on this. I have an L3130 with a 732 bucket. I use mine for loggin a lot. I made my own logger forks froma set of overload springs. I cut the springs about 16" and welded a lip to catch under the front of the bucket. Then drilled holes through the spinga nd bucket and bolted to the bucket. They work good for what I do and that is stack 8' to 16' logs into a rank for loading on the truck. We use a regular truck grapple boom for loading the truck. Plus is they were really cheap. Downside is you have to watch carefully as they will dig into the ground when you go to put them under a log. I just approach the log with the forks level to the ground, slide them under and roll back the bucket. I used the same foks on my B7500 but it was short on lifting power for long lenght hardwoods. The grapples discussed earlier look super. Think I might try that too.

I believe that is the 2 wheel drive model and I think you will have good luck with it. I have a 7234 (4WD Gear) and it is an excellent tractor. Mitsubishi Engine and drive train. By the way you'll find the filters are a little expensive for it. The oil filter, $12-15 unless you try a NAPA for $7 or so, the Hyd filter is about a $50 one and if I'm not mistaken the airfilter is in the $50-60 range. Some of the new Mahindras have the same frame and many of the components only in Red. They don't have the 27HP engine anymore, I think they bumped it up to 30HP. Kubota dealer provided new tire. Have used it for a couple of hours lifting and spreading gravel. Doing fine so far. This B7800 is great for this type of work. The BX2200 I had would have done it but not as easily or as quick.
My neighbor has watched my BX for a year and went and got one. He just mows so I recommended the BX and he got the BX18Hp model. He was spreading seed with a hand spreader and I told him he could get a big one for his tractor 3pth for a little over $300 so I'm taking bets he'll have one on it within 2 weeks.

Although I dont really have the fluid money available right now I should have it in a month or two. I am selling my old tractor soon. I need to bite the bullet because the price is not going down in the future of steel (I see that now) I will buy one sometime this year and for the price I need to buy it now. The standard price is between $1450 and $1600 for the 72" model around here. The price tag of $1079 I can't beat and I would be a fool to wait and pay more in a few months. I hope this helps someone else out that is looking to buy one soon. I know its last minuite but ya never know.

I am closing up buying a tractor and have a favourite that I would like to compare to some other brands/models. Which the favourite is I keep as a secret a while, as I want no presets in your answers. Would you like to recommend what tractor and implements (brands) to choose in my case?<br>

What is needed is:<br>
- lawnmowing, an acre<br>
- move snow, some 400 yards driveway, 50 yards walkway<br>
- move snowpiles in both ends of the driveway, as the public snowmovers close it with sometimes up to three feet high piles as they clean the county way<br>
- move dirt and garden things around, no more handcarriage!<br>
- tow a small carriage at a maximum 1000 lbs on flat ground, lighter on slopes<br>
- make an acre meadow level, dig up stumps and stones (�larger� stones can be digged down, no problem), to make it possible to mow with �walk behind-scissors�, I dont know the english word for that machine�<br>
- replace digging with spade (read that I like to play with a backhoe!)<br>
- brushhog, also an acre, rather wet soil, dont know if it really carries the tractor and if tractor wheels get traction there<br>
- some tilling<br>

These are the tasks for the machine to help me doing the next few years. The place I live on is not really a farm, as it once was a part of. Today there is no more sheep here and the bushes are taking over more and more. So a bit of cleaning up what in the past was made naturally every day, must in some way be made after work nowadays.<br>

In the future I would like a bit larger place. Not really to have a farm with animals, but some forestry. The heavier forestry will be made by craftsmen with knowledge and machinery, but some lighter forestry I will do myself. There are always a number of larger tractors since the 60�s for sale around here rather cheap, so if there is a little heavier needs it is not necessary to use the smaller tractor if it isnt designed for that.<br>

Gardening is a bit interesting and digging a stream and a pond maybe, maintain the house and barn, what could be done with such machinery. Some 2-3 acres lawnmowing and maybe longer driveway to move off snow. <br>

I live in Sweden, a country in Northern Europe. In my area, it normally falls some 3 inches when it snows. It would be great moving that amount of snow with plow and when it falls more, as it does a couple of times every winter, a snowblower would be an alternative, let it go that it takes some more time to clean up those times..<br>

As a car and machine entousiast I would like a machine that manage all these tasks, even if for some it is more than enough and for some it is just a little too small. What is sizing it maximum is that it must be possible to drive in the garden and there is a maximum of 60 inch mowingdeck. Also the walkways must be possible to drive to clean up in the winter and the gate is 55 inch wide, must be possible to cross.<br>

Here in Sweden and europe, there is absolutely not that machinery market as it seems to be in the US, so a 20 hp compact is rather unusual sold here to a private person. New Holland Boomer I have never seen, nor Kubota B-series or any MF in those sizes. Last year I saw a JD 4610 brush the streets as it was cleaning up friction sand in the spring. Some european brands are more common, but are more designed for community use. Smaller Kubotas are seen here and there, mostly around churches and such smaller commercial uses. As commercial grassmowing, there is almost never tractor style machines, almost always rear steer frontmowers, heavier JD:s have I seen. Very common are the commercial models of Husqvarna and Stiga midsteer diesels.<br>

As a former industry machine machanic and nowadays automation engineer, I am not afraid maintain and repair my machinery myself. What is my plan, is to have quotes from a number of dealers in the US, travel there as a holiday, testdrive at the best deals, buy the machinery personally and send it home by sea container. The warranties and such must be some deal, I dont know how but it will solve I think.<br>

Of course there is a limit what the machinery is allowed to cost, but I am interested in your suggestions as a start. There will be no commercial use with the machinery, but helping friends and neighbours sometimes of course. The lack of power and traction force, will be solved with lighter loads and a bit more time doing the job, as compensation for a bit cheaper machinery, but to a limit�<br>

After checking over all the connections for the antifreeze, I found a the tube coming from the right side of the engine that goes to the drain valve was not tight enough. It just so happens that this tube touches the vent tube for the engine so when this antifreeze tube leaked it ran down the vent tube. I sure am glad it wasn't something major with the engine. Thanks for those that gave suggestions.

once again a Fram may be close to the same as an AC Delco or Motorcraft etc but when it comes to cross reference they pretty much just go by threads and seal sizes. The filter may be very different. I think the point has been made you can pay me now or pay me later. Fram made this point. Great filters for the car but I wouldn't put one on my hydro unit. Use Kubota filters- they are engineered and made specifically for the proper application. I would never put an aftermarket filter on my hydro Scag, Kubota, Deere ETC only genuine stuff. Just because it will fit does not mean it's doing what it is supposed to do.

The 2nd time she heard it, the car had been sitting overnight (outside) and hadn't been started yet.

She says it isn't very loud; you can't hear it inside the car, only from the outside, standing near the front.

I don't think it could be anything mechanical or fluid-flow related. She isn't close enough for me to look at it, but if it were mine, I'd unhook the battery to see if the noise would quit, maybe something electronic.
