You can move round bales with a Deere 5000 series machine but as already eluded to above; you will be near the limits of it capacity in some cases. For a few you can get by but much more and you should consider a larger machine. Deere has a special offer for their 6403 base tractor for $26,990. Not bad for a tractor that size plus 98 hp. It is not a true shuttle shift trans. but has the Top shaft synchronized (TSS) 9F/3R transmission. The 4WD is gonna blow the price out another $7,000. Add another $7,000 for a cab. This is all assuming you are insistant upon the "Green Paint"<br>

In your case; I would strong recommend that you take a look at the Kioti DK65S. For about the same price as the base 6403 you can get a 65 hp. Perkins diesel, 4WD, Cab heat & air. <br>

Should my 4410 prove to be too small for applications in the future; I will be seriously considering one of these. <br>

My '84 JD 850 owners manual states a crackcase oil change with filter should be 4.7 quarts. When I fill my 850 with this much oil it only registers about 1/3 the way up on the cross hatch marks on the oil dip stick. So:<br>

Is 4.7 quarts the correct oil amount, or should I fill it upto the top of the dipstick cross hatch. <br>

I was told that Fram filters were made with the same specifications. Is this false information?

Also, are you aware of any 7500's having oil filters loosen up due to vibration. I am concerned also of how close the filter is to the exhaust (heat). Any concerns there?

A lot of the grapple rake attachment manufacturers indicate that their equipment is designed to fit on skid steer equipment, but rarely do they mention CUTs. Is the quick attach feature on my JD 420 FEL compatible with these skid steer attachments?

If it's new that isn't a bad price for the outfit but you didn't give much of a description to compare it to as many times the options can change the price quite a bit.

Save enough for some impliments you need. There is not that much difference in the 3 although I too would like more hp although I have not had a need for moe yet. I have a tc40. No hydro. You know what they say you wont miss it untill youve had it and you dont miss what you never had. Depending on what your doing with the loader I see no reason for the larger tractor unless your worried about its lifting capacity? If money is a concern I think $4K is a lot of money for the rise in HP if you dont really need it. Go as large as you can realistically afford and still be able to buy some toys for the rig.

I just saw that! Well worth the extra money I think.
We need to remember that most of these tools we are talking about is not rocket science in design. Its mainly how much money they put into the material and how much welding is done on them. Most of the time a cheaper tool will have less beef to it and less costly design features.
Like anything though you need to way the cost effectiveness of what you need verse what you have to spend.

I have a '78 B6100. I don't have a loader but the 3ph whines some when it's cold. The original spec for tranny/hydraulics was for 80/90 wt gear lube. Kubota now recommends UDT for this. I made the switch and it help with the noise a lot.

In my previous life I had a car broke into. I had to make a claim on my house ins. 1 month later I had anouther break in at a different location. This time the busted the big side window instead of the vent window. break in one was worth $275 less a $100 deductable. Break in #2 was a big one they got my gils softball team bats all my baseball stuff and my tool boxes. $975 less that deductable. I was pissed! I did not fix that window for 3 months! Plastic bagged it. Hey if some one has it out for me come get it! Nothing would be left in that car. One night after drinking I came home and left my radar detector in the car out in the driveway (back when I lived in the city) You guessed. I had a knock on my door at 4:30 am just as I was about to leave for work. It was the police, they said," You better come check this out. The littel turds stole my baseball glove from the back and my radar detector which I had left BOTH in the car! Man drinking is fun I said! How could I be so stupid and they reminded me by taking my shaving cream (that I used to out on my glove right befor the games)and spraying the word SUCKER on the back window! (Thats how the police new something was up along with the doors being left wide open) I was going to kill someone. I drove the 2 miles to the edge of the ghetto and was looking. Wouldnt you knowit. I get stopped by the police. They told me I best get my ass to work and stop my stupidity. They knew what I was doing and they said that they are going to do my looking for me and for me to get my butt out of there and just go to work. I was so pissed becaue I was just dropped by my insurance company for making 2 claims in 1 year! I did not know you get black balled for using what you pay the premiums for. Thats my lesson I learned! Now I have a new strategy. I run a huge deductable and save 50% of my premiums every year I am claim and loss free. I will only make a claim if it is a huge loss. Trust me its not worth it otherwise (AS YOU FOUND OUT) Sorry to hear about your ins. problems
What I need is for the lady who is buying my dads house (next to me) next Wed. to move the heck in and occupy that house. I also need the house to the other side of me to be occupied. It also is vacant. They got divorced and both moved out a month ago and only show up for a hour or so a day. So I have no one on either side of me and there is a good distance from us to the next house.

It depends what you want to do. Do you want to remove
the rocks? If not, I would spray with round-up (when
you think a heavy rain is coming within a week). I would
then broadcast seed (top seed) with a combination of
plants, you would need one annual that will sprout very
quickly, to prevent more erosion. Then use a variety of
whatever perenials you want. Then make sure it has the
proper lime (ph) or lime the heck out of it in the
next spring. Also, fertilize heavily,because you have
probably lost most of your good top soil.
If you want to pick the rocks up - I have no answer.
I only get the surface rocks off that type of land
then try to get a couple perenials going. Cut it or
bale it a couple times a year, then continue to lime
and fertilize yearly.

I�ve had great success. At least five feet high, with strands one foot apart, starting at about 3 inches from the ground. Keeps out everything except squirrels. Must be kept weed free and well maintained so shock value is greatest. Tying a piece of apple to the fence so they will touch it their wet noses also helps them �learn� about it.

Anyone have a decent idea what a b6000 4x4 with a loader is worth? unknown hours. ownere guessed early 80's but I think they were only until 1977? runs well and looks decent for it's age. 3 pouint hitch. gear drive. only weak point is a little slop in the steering box.

COULD WE ALSO ADD SOME KIND OF GUARD COVERING THE FUEL FILTER AND LINES...VERY EXPOSED TO DEBRIS WITHOUT THE MOWER DECK ON IT. A TWO FOOT PIECE OF ROTTEN TREE KICKED UP INTO THE FILTER, LINES AND INTO THE COOLING FAN BLADES ON THE DRIVE SHAFT. SURE RUINED MY SEAT TIME REAL QUICK!

The other possibility is the valve itself, but not from wear or leaking.

Some valve banks are visually all the same, but internally different, as is the case with the float function on a FEL.

If the valve running the boom operation is letting too much fluid past then the result will be as described.

Some valves have a hex-head screw with a locknut that can be turned to adjust the flow rates. Check if that is the case on your valve.

The other possibility is that at some point in time somebody replaced the valve and the new one is the wrong specification. Often they use several different flow rates withing one bank of valves as a way of evening out the operation of various sized cylinders.
