Depending on tires there are some differences but I believe your dealer did a good job of pricing. The 6800 starts off with a retail of 30,960 with the cast rear wheels with ag tires.

These two machine have very different functions. Having used a 1445 and currently own a 2210, the 1445 will run circles around the 2210 in terms of cut, trim etc., and just so you know, it's available in four wheel drive, but be prepared to shell out some serious money (I'm just giving the MSRP's and not actual selling prices, but a 1445, 4WD with 72" front cut deck is around ~$24,000 vs 2210, 62" MMM ~$12,500). Again, the overall function is so different (compact tractor vs a commercial mower), I can't imagine these two units really begining compared. If you are just mowing, the 1445 is by far a nicer unit.

I typically work mine all day long about 6 times a month. Lots of full loads in the bucket (moving dirt and DG) and lots of box blade work. Most of the work is on severe inclines at my cabin in the mountains. Always in 4wd and typically grunting along in low/low then low/high for jockeying back and forth. I definitely do not baby this or any tractor. I got rid of an old 8n because even though I loved it, it just required too much babying to get a days work out of it.

In my opinion with 35 PTO HP you should be fine with the 72" tiller.
With a gear tractor the size of tiller it will run depends on HP, and gearing (how slow is your lowest gears).
With 35 PTO HP, if your lowest gearing is less than 1 MPH you should fine. The slower the tractor is geared, the less HP you will need to run the tiller.

Now you guys have me worried as h**l. I needed to start my L3010 just once at below zero temperatures, and it was only 2 deg. below. I let the glow plugs do their thing until the light want out, turned the key and it cranked for 3 seconds or less and started right up. The battery is brand new (albeit a factory second because I live close to a battery factory) and the oil is whatever the previous owner put in the tractor.
I'm so damn worried now that I am going to check out block heaters for next winter. I wonder if the different engine and compression ratio on the L3010 made a difference vs. a BX1500.
The loader worked as slow as h**l in the subzero temperatures, but that is another story.

I agree. Do not buy without quick attach. The dealer is trying to do the greasy salesman routine on you. You will always wish you had it and the future cost may prevent you from going ahead and getting it later.

As far as I know the Extendable lower link arms on the 3 point hitch have always been standard equipment on the DK 35. Yours should have that feature.<br>
I have had my DK 35 for just over 3 years now (a first year made 2001 model) and it has the extendable lower link arms..

My guess is that you need little from JD to access the
connection next to the SCV for another auxilliary valve.
$1150 is ridiculous.

What you need most is the instructions, which may be in your JD service manual (not aftermarket) and a close look at
the parts diagram. Getting and installing the power beyond plug is the most significant thing.

OK, I took some measurements. My JD 955 (33 hp one pump tractor) delivers about 5.6 GPM to my backhoe at the rated RPM of 3100. The JD spec says 7.2 GPM. Some of the hydraulic flow definitely seems to be diverted. I would still like to know how this is accomplished in a one-pump open center system. Anybody know?

I took my measurements by timing the operation of my largest cylinder, the 3" dipperstick cylinder on my Prairie Dog 7.5 hoe at two different RPMs. Actual volume of the cylinder was measured to be 90.7 cubic inches.

I find that I get plenty of cylinder actuation speed at about 4 GPM, measured. This equates to about 2200 engine RPM, significantly below the 3100 full RPM for this machine.
