That is a lot of weight to suspend way out in front of a 2000 pound machine and the RTV has no capacity to power anything with a pto drive shaft.

I think a plow is the best you can do with this machine, and based on recent experience it needs a bunch of extra ballast to run a plow.

WJBaker, you might want to be careful trailering that little Kubota around.

The 6100E weighs 945 pounds, the Woods mower weighs 315 pounds, that comes to 1,260 pounds without counting the trailer. A run of the mill 16' tandem axle car hauler weighs in the area of 1,500 pounds.

Now you are hauling about 2,760 pounds all in, and unless I'm mistaken the law in Georgia requires a functioning brake system when the trailer and load reaches 3,000 pounds, depending on how heavy duty your trailer is you may already be over that limit.

You might want to check into getting that brake controller sonner rather than later. If there was ever an accident while pulling that trailer brakes would be the first thing they would be looking at as a possible cause. If you had exceeded the limit your insurance company may deny the claim, and any lawyer would see it as a payday.

News flash.... My RTV is not a sterling performer in snow either. As soon as the snow gets deep enough to compromise the ground clearance it just sort of wallows. It isn't just the "round tire" issue in this case..... I went around that problem by installing mud and snow radials.<br>

I can get it to work if I chain it up and then follow the trail I break with the tractor.<br>

I have not had the time to experiment yet, but I would guess that 1000 pounds of ballast in the cargo box might give it more authority, but there is still a limit based on snow density and ground clearance.<br>

Given on the fact that the RTV is the heaviest side-by-side out there, I would make an educated guess that the Gators/Rhino's/etc don't do any better.

LOL.... nice dream, but we're not expansionists. Not anymore anyways.

I used to joke that the answer will be to cut a deal with russia and china where the three of us go in and level the whole place, then each of us could have a third of the region. We'll keep the third with israel. The rest of the world would be too powerless to do anything, and the three countries who use the most oil anyways would have it all.

But, that's why I would never make it to being president.

I've read this happening before on the CK 30 and the hydraulic shutoff valve near your right foot had accidently got shut off (sounds like you may have already checked that).<br>
On my DK 35, the backhoe plugs into the hydraulic block underneath the tractor (this block also supplies the loader). When the backhoe is plugged in my 3 point will not work. If you have the same setup,are your hydraulic lines reconnected properly after removing the backhoe?

Paladin, look at my picture # 15.

Basically all you need is a pair of heavy tabs on each side with holes to accept the plow harness and a method of connecting the lift chain, for the older style blades, to the top of the FEL bracket.

If you have access to a welder, or someone who will do it for you, you can buy heavy steel tabs with the right size hole in them already, they are sold as weld on ends for hydraulic cylinders. They range between 3/8" & 1 thick with holes that vary from 1" to 1.5" in diameter, generally they are all about 2" from the back side to the center of the hole, just about perfect for this use. Weld 4 of these to a spare quick-tatch plate (or make another one as I did) and have the use of forks and other stuff (see my picture # 18, same bracket as in # 15) the rest of the year.

I just did the 100 hour maintenance on my BX23 and the manufacturing maintenance schedule has the oil to be changed but not the filter.<br>

Can someone explain the rationale of this to me as with cars it is customary to change the filter and oil together?<br>

It might take several days in warmth to totally thaw your tires. Drain them in a safe place and add air and you will be all set.

The 1500's seem to be as relaiable as its larger brothers. The only complaint has been the rougher idle of the two cylinder engine vs the three cylinder. Much of the chassis is identical other then differences from the size of the engine so to a degree it should be all of it's larger brothers and then some for realiability.

I also have a 6522 4wd with loader. It smokes like you describe and goes away when working. Mine has nearly 2000 hrs. and I love this tractor. Tip: If you haven't already, fill those rear tires with anti-freeze and water (safe a/f, of course). Makes a world of difference in scraping and using the front loader. I didn't fill mine for the longest time since I thought that tubless tires couldn't be filled. Started thinking about and didn't see any reason why they couldn't be.

The sun-CUTS are nice, but I think you would be diappointed for what you want to do. I would think a larger B-series, 7800, or 2710/2910, or the L2600/3000. If yiou are going to buy new, you may want to wait and look at the new B3030. You are going to want 20hp at the pto to run a 60 inch brush hog. Any of the models listed above will do it fine, along with having the weight and capacity to do good loader work.

Originally, I purchased my 2210 with turf tires and they were nice and then when the Industrial style became and option, I purchased them. Since that purchase, the turfs were sold to someone with Ag. Tires and I now use the Industrial Tires year-round. In my opinion, there are no better tires on the market for �overall use�.
